Re: Review: Ever Oasis (3DS)

Jayvir

It's truly sad that I've already moved on to Switch. It's painful to go back and play 3ds games at this point. I struggled to finish SMT Apocalypse and couldn't even finish FE Echoes. I'll pass on this gem... Though through no fault of it's own

Re: Capcom Has No Plans to Bring Monster Hunter XX for Nintendo Switch to the West

Jayvir

And after they went so far to request a certain spec set for their games, they pull out almost ALL support. I own a PS4 so if I wanted MH World, I could buy it, but I don't think I want to any more, especially seeing how World is turning out to change everything about the series. I might just pick up Toukiden 2 instead.

I really just wanted MH XX. Now all of my friends are lamenting because they were buying Switches after the XX announcement and the series is jumping ship. I doubt that the Switch couldn't run Worlds. There is something weird at play.

Re: An Adventure Time Mashup Pack is Coming to Minecraft

Jayvir

I know I'm late to the Minecraft party but these mashups are the worst of content add-ons IMO. I'd rather have new items or equipment that are based on the themes rather than just skinning everything. Would be way cooler to use Mario with a rifle from Fallout on terrain from Adventure Time with various enemies from all of the other packs.

That being said, I'd like a Rick & Morty mashup

Re: Owlboy Is Coming to the Switch

Jayvir

@rjejr I'd rather play on a portable I can bring with me as opposed to being stuck at my desk. If that rainway app is coming soon and it works as advertised, then you might have a point.

Re: Review: LEGO City: Undercover (Switch)

Jayvir

@gatorboi352 no. It's more indicative that it's rushed port seeing as it's poorly optimized and cant handle a Wii U game without hitting max resources and heating up, despite being more powerful and able than the Wii U

Re: Review: Human Resource Machine (Switch eShop)

Jayvir

It's no World of Goo, but I think it's definitely better than Little Inferno. Maybe it's because I understand programming languages and am proficient in math that these kind of puzzles aren't overly complex for me, but I thought that these logic puzzles were pretty fair.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Pits Nintendo Switch vs. PS4 in Dragon Quest Heroes II Comparison

Jayvir

As a Warriors fan, this is not surprising. Just take one look at how Koei Tecmo and Omega Force handled the Wii U port of Orochi Warriors 3 (for those of you who didn't know, it was much worse than this). And yet the same team pulled off Hyrule Warriors beautifully. They just don't put any effort into their ports, and being that they are a smaller studio, I kinda see why. Just kinda sucks.

Re: Nintendo Switch Teardown Images Pop Up Online

Jayvir

Isn't the X1 at its best not even as capable as the Wii U? Then how would the Switch be able to outperform the Wii U with lesser hardware? I'm willing to hedge bets that its not even either X1 or X2 but some custom monster that resembles neither.

Re: Super Bomberman R's Retail Price Has Finally Been Confirmed

Jayvir

I can't even remember the last time Bomberman was priced as a premium, full-priced release. Definitely wasn't since the GCN. Generation and Jetters were arguably as content heavy (story mode AND full-featured battle mode) and those were $20. I have a hard time trusting Konami not wanting to cash in on a light release schedule.

Re: On Nintendo Switch Power, WSJ Tech Writer Pitches in With Alternative Details

Jayvir

@hepgius GFAQs is probably the worst place when it comes to the power wars, IMO. I know GAF is bad too.

It's baffling how people think TeraFLOPS and clock speed are the end all. It's just another piece of the puzzle that people don't truly understand. Yeah, having higher TeraFLOPS is always useful but it's pointless to know on their own. Same with Clock Speeds. The 360 had a higher clock speed than the PS4 (IIRC) but the PS4 is leagues ahead of the 360. Besides, we've seen proof already, no? Zelda already runs way better on Switch, which proves its more capable than Wii U by a decent margin. Dark Souls 3, Dragon Quest 11 and Skyrim all run well on Switch. Why people worry about tech they don't understand when the games show that it is capable is beyond me.

Re: Nintendo's Share Value Plummets Despite Super Mario Run Downloads and Revenue Performance

Jayvir

Of course mobile users would whine about paying for stuff. It's the nature of the market and part of the reason why I don't think Nintendo will do as well in mobile as they thought. Yeah, the initial reaction of "OH, Mario is on mobile!" will fade real soon and then what will they have? The average uninformed consumer isn't aware of Animal Crossing or Fire Emblem. Those franchises are gonna get buried. Plus with them avoiding the F2P or microtransactions, you'll constantly see those negative reviews. Geez, even if it was loaded with microtransactions, you'd probably still see just as many equally bad reviews.
