Re: GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition Races Onto Switch 2 Later This Month

@KoopaTheGamer Whenever I see people claim analog triggers are only useful for racing games, I think that tells me a lot more about the sort of games they do or don't play. If they weren't good for anything else they wouldn't have become a standard, but they are a standard everywhere outside of Nintendo for good reason.

I think Sony got it perfected with their dualsense triggers. They can be as clicky as devs want them to be or as analog as they want them to be with a great variety of feedback that really adds to the immersion.

Nintendo simply has a very outdated approach to them and it feels like they're stuck in the past with their mentality that defends a lack of them. Reminds me of when people claimed there was no need for a right analog stick saying it was only useful for FPS. In the end it was just people being defensive of outdated controller design.

@massimax Yeah being a racing game fan there is a good reason why I was very critical of Nintendo for still not using analog triggers on the Switch 2, but the good thing is that this game is simcade enough to where you just need to turn on some traction control and antilock and you're fine.

@KayFiOS Having a game run at 60fps vs 30 isn't some difficult task, having games run at higher FPS is just a standard in PC gaming and all it does is make games look smoother.

Smooth 30fps is an oxymoron anyways, 30fps never looks smooth because it is 30fps, it's always going to look slow, rough, blurry and skippy as the frame rate isn't fast enough to look smooth in action. It's this fact that made the 30fps lock always seem like a pointless feature, at 30 the camera movement looks rough and blurry enough to where I never notice any supposed improvements a lock would provide.

That and this is an old Switch 1 game, seems ridiculous to imply a Switch 2 update couldn't optimize it for 60fps. I mean they took a notable amount of time working on this update, makes me wonder what they were working on.

Re: GRID Legends: Deluxe Edition Is Racing Onto Switch 2 In Early 2026

GRID seems to be a good fit for the Switch when it comes to a simcade racer. It could never really do true racing sims due to the lack of analog triggers, but they can work if you keep the traction and braking assists on. I felt like this game was under-appreciated as a simcade racer this gen and it's nice to see it getting some attention again. Might have to pick this up just to have it as a handheld racer.

@Lizuka The fact that people are getting all defensive with "lets see you do better" shows off how this franchise has apparently fallen. Nintendo first party and Metroid should be a gold standard in gaming, an example of AAA studio quality at it's finest. "Lets see you do better" should never even be a notion, it's like telling people to make better classical music than a renown symphony orchestra, that should be the highest professional standard, not something to suggest random people should match if they're disappointed.
