@johnvboy I don't know where all this talk of "there's not enough interest in virtual console games, nobody wants to play them" is coming from when retro gaming has never been more popular.

Personally I just stick with the old Nintendo Switch edition, seems like that ended around the perfect time and it's not dependent upon online features or anything. Just good old fashioned Minecraft the way I prefer it. Today's Minecraft feels like the result of trying to fix something that wasn't broken.

Yet another example of why the online subscription model sucks for retro gaming. If I could just purchase these games like the old virtual console I wouldn't have to worry about rights and access being taken away, but noooo, they had to force the subscription model and now games just disappear.

Whoever buys this has more money than sense.

I always hated the subscription model for this. I'm old enough to know how subscription periods come and go all too quickly and I want to own stuff I like not have to worry about it being removed from the subscription one day.

@Nintendoid720 Figures. Eliminating pre-orders was really just an excuse for them to do price gouging. Gamestop has always been a greedy and unethical corporation.

All they'd have to do is stop having everything manufactured in China. Funny how these corporations are never held responsible for the way they have long exploited China's appalling human rights issues when it comes to workers. The desire for cheap labor to make an extra buck always seems to be the last thing anyone is willing to abandon.

The switch store has long been a sea of low quality cash grab shovelware by low quality cash grabbing mobile game devs.

They really should have added some paid solo content to this one like they did with Tetris 99

Can't say I care the least about how critics review anything anymore, I was disappointed in the last Civilization game and this looks like it's only going to be worse.

I used to be a fan of this franchise but honestly not really feeling this latest entry. I gave it a go on Gamepass and I just didn't really care for it over older entries, I think the graphics finally got too 3D where they just lack that 2D or later 2D-esque look they had before. I mean yeah in stills it can look kinda 2D but in action it just lacks the charm somehow. That and like a lot of modern fighting games it just felt too focused around online play as well. I just don't enjoy it as much as I can still enjoy older ones.

The eshop is just a sea of shovelware whenever I check on it. Looking over new releases is like "spot the game that isn't some mobile phone/shovelware game."

Could never understand the hype behind an alarm clock. I mean sure it's kind of a neat looking one with some cool features but it's still just an alarm clock at the end of the day. For $100 it just didn't seem worthwhile for me, I just use my phone when I need an alarm.

I think the desire for large portable devices is a niche market sort of thing. Nintendo would be smart of offer a smaller version if they want to make something large.

Apparently there's some people out there who always think bigger = better so I guess this is supposed to appeal to them.

Well they do have a good point. It's not really a gambling game as high score chasing is essentially the goal of the game, there is no real victory pot at the end, you only progress as far as you can. That and it's obviously all in-game currency and you never spend any real money. Calling this gambling feels like calling solitaire gambling simply because it's a classic card game.

They might as well just call this show The Sony Awards because lets face it, they totally have it rigged in favor of Sony and the Sony fanbase has far too loud of a voice over there.

Lame winner for a lame year, what a joke this industry has become.

Kinda tired of the whole retro racer indie game thing by now.

The Switch never really got any good NASCAR titles.

It'll probably just be an Android phone setup for gaming.

I like the concept of Nintendo simply releasing a joycon grip for using the tablet section vertical. A good easy low cost solution that could work for anyone.

I hope the Japanese government blocks the deal.

Well it's not like the first production version was much better. I actually kinda like it more, it was just missing some polish.

@Savage_Joe I imagine the issue is how Google Maps is mostly just satellite views and roads. This allows for more pedestrian angles and mapping.

I honestly couldn't care less about this award show or what anyone who runs it thinks.

Problem with a lot of these fighters from this era is how they aren't much fun to play by yourself due to the overly hard AI they had for milking quarters out of people as they were meant to be played in arcades, and if there's any online play it won't be really active for long and you will probably get paired up with people who try to obsessively be the best at it.

These were definitely the worst looking versions of Sonic characters.

Not exactly a fan of these tactics games unless they're an Advance Wars style of game.

I'm sure my 6 year old nephew would like these, it's totally aimed at his demographic.

@Unit_DTH I honestly think I know who it might be just based off some people I have encountered on forums before. Definitely some middle aged dude with nothing better to do besides troll people on the internet 24/7.

People like that are why I have no interest in online gaming anymore. Too many petty and malicious griefers trying to give everyone a hard time. I enjoyed playing games online back when everyone was a lot more relaxed and social.

This comes off as sort of a spinoff of Paper Mario with different combat.

Truly two of the shoot-em-ups of all time.

This was back in that mid-90's era when FPS were just full of weird settings and odd enemies.

@Enigk Yeah it's kind of a weird trend with PC accessories as well. I could never see the appeal. It's just distracting.

@dugan I am simply in no rush to buy one. At the end of the day it's just a clock, and I already got one for my room and use my phone for an alarm.

Definitely the New 3DS XL, it's the ultimate final 3DS for me. Way I went about 3DS consoles was: original 3DS, 3DS XL, New 3DS XL, and two of the "doorstop" 2DS consoles. The 2DS consoles were more so a novelty because I liked how it was a solid one piece take on the DS/3DS, a unique design for the platform and they were very cheap. Overall though my New XL is the one that I consider the "go-to" with the best screen and experience.

Monster Hunter 4 edition New 3DS XL
Crystal blue 2DS
White and red 2DS

Love the look of them all really.

Kinda disappointed at how it's mostly Nintendo versions, which are pretty easy to play and emulate now a days. Would have preferred if there was more of a focus on the PC and arcade releases, and some more unusual platforms.

Green Day used to be cool a long time ago, I guess this harks back to that time but I can live without it.

Ubisoft comes off as the poster example of a tone deaf company. Hostile to fans, hostile to feedback, always doubling down on the same old, it's just not a company that has their priorities straight.

Sounds like a lot of effort for something you can't do much with.

Finally played it the other day, only noticed it being an issue in a few situations, most of the time there didn't seem to be any real frame rate issue.

Add HD rumble and it will truly be an ultimate Switch Lite.
