Loved the Wii U but sadly the opportunity to enjoy it fully has passed if you never had one. Still, lots of great games on disc.

Looking forward to this, but I'll probably get it on PS5.

They really need to release a solo DLC like they did for the other 99 games.

I wouldn't want to buy another Switch at this point, I think a Switch 2 must not be too far away.

This looks like an easy game to pass on. It doesn't even look good.

Complaints about analog stick placement reminds me of my criticisms of Playstation controllers.

What they really ought to do is try to copy the Steam Deck's controls placement. That seems to be very comfortable.

@DashKappei Honestly you aren't missing out on much. This game is basically exactly the same as playing Cybernator on the SNES. Same graphics, same controls, same everything really besides some minor stuff like different dialogue that you would probably never notice unless you're a mega-fan. In fact the entire release feels like it's just meant for mega-fans, I doubt anybody else would care about the extras.

I feel like this should have came out years ago.

@Jiggies ...and people wonder why this industry has problems. Debates are often too one-sided.

@Scrubelicious True, just look at how the GTA Trilogy remasters ended up.

@Scrubelicious Well luckily that was a Nintendo exclusive release and an update on a Gamecube title, so there was a lot of room for improvement.

@Croctopus Is there anything to really do in Splatoon 1 anymore? I know it had sort of a solo training mode, but that's about all I can think of.

@Scrubelicious This is the Switch. It's not exactly capable of enhanced visuals lol. That's part of the reason why I think these remasters are sort of a joke on it.

Bad visuals seems to be par for the course in this late era of the Switch. Pretty obvious how it's a platform desperately in need of a performance upgrade.

As for this, I always thought of Detective Pikachu as being kind of a kids game, a Jr Sherlock sort of thing.

The bad performance made me want to get this on a different platform. Glad I checked out a video of it first.

I couldn't disagree more. Backwards compatibility would be essential.

@electrolite77 Same way I always felt. It's probably been one of my all-time favorite controllers. I think one of the most common complaints I have heard is how you can't really use the d-pad and analog at the same time, but anyone who actually played N64 would know how that was never an issue.

@shgamer Shadow Warrior has already been remastered, it was called the Classic Redux. It's only on PC though, I would like to see it ported over to consoles.

@Kidfunkadelic83 Yeah I definitely preferred the Tiny Metal games when it came to Advance Wars ripoffs, felt like it was more balanced and less demanding.

@wiiware Yeah I really don't care for the themes they have with this game, and this sequel feels unnecessary for me anyways. I guess good for anyone who wants more Wargroove or likes that stuff, but it's not for me.

Wonder how many more projects are getting cancelled thanks to Unity's boneheaded policy change. Nobody trusts or wants to work with them anymore.

I played a trial of this game on PS+ and it's just alright. I liked Guilty Gear and Blazblue a lot more.

Imagine still investing in something as untrustworthy as Unity.

Honestly, I just struggle to find the time to really play a game like this anymore.

I feel like Nintendo should have made a dedicated home Switch with 4K upscaling capability.

Sounds like arcade mode is going to be some sort of solo mode I think this game really needs.

@Truegamer79 This is a full retail release that is being sold for $70, it would be a disservice to consumers to ignore the present state of the product.

@Jokerwolf Yeah with all the talk about the Switch 2, and knowing how old and outdated today's Switch hardware is, I can only see this appealing to kids who were too young to get a Switch before this. From what I can tell the Switch 2 should be fully backwards compatible with original Switch software, while offering enhanced performance and graphics with a number of titles.

I feel like I might as well just wait for a Switch 2 as opposed to buying an OLED by now. I am still fine with my rev 2 Animal Crossing Switch.

Gotta agree with PJ here, this game is in a sorry state.

Looking at some of the comments here, I can tell why so many games get inflated scores. Fans really get upset when critics are honest about something they want to like.

Reviews should represent an honest take, not simply reflecting what fans want critics to say.

Prime day has been mediocre for a long time now. Overhyped consumerism holiday.

PS4/One power would be amazing on a handheld. The Switch DESPERATELY needs this performance upgrade by now.

Only thing this game needs is some sort of solo offline options, which I consider vital for portable games. It's the only way I really enjoyed playing Tetris 99.

I will support them by refusing to purchase any Unity games going forward.

Checked out a video someone put up online that measured the frame rate, it targets 60 but drops consistently. I think I might just pass on getting this game for the Switch and wait for it to drop on PS5/Series.

Game has been out for nearly a year now and it still has major performance issues after a long awaited patch for new DLC. Crazy for such a major first party franchise.

This looks like it could be more sophisticated than the first one, like the graphics, presentation, track design, physics, and all that. There was definitely some room for improvement.

@Doomcrow That kind of behavior is highly illegal, if true he could do prison time and face serious financial penalties.

Sounds like Unity will go broke before long, this will absolutely destroy their popularity. If I had stock I'd sell sell sell before it's worthless.

@RobynAlecksys In a world where Sony is getting aggressive about pushing live services and jacking up the prices for their services while Nintendo is still using outdated mobile hardware exclusively, I would hardly call Xbox the worst thing to happen to gaming these days. If anything Microsoft is one of the few things keeping it from being a total joke with Sony just having a monopoly on home consoles, which would absolutely ruin the industry seeing how anti-consumer they have become lately.
