I’ll be having a gathering at mine with a few friends. One of them is brining theirs round. I wont be getting a switch 2 on release as there are no games that excite me and I have so many games on switch 1. I’m sure I’ll get one eventually.

The way he is being viewed by the gaming community is now how I’m looking at nintendo with their recent pricing.

I love fixed camera angles and it doesnt feel like a dated feature to me at all.

The part I'm most looking forward to is the buttery smooth 1fps of whatever the hell is going on with that split screen chaos.

I think I might sit this gen out and go pc. The reason I usually prefer console is because it’s a lot more streamlined and less faff but now with purpose built machines and steam os on the way. I only play indie games mostly anyway so I don't even need more power. I’ll just be sticking with my switch 1 for now. I’d have made the jump to switch 2 if the games were not just going to be emulated and there was going to be a boost on most/all games like on ps4 to ps5 rather than what xbox original to xbox 360 was like.

I would like to see more games doing this.

@Moistnado I feel the same way with lots of the collections on switch. Taito comes to mind, release them all on one cart and stop messing everyone around. I ended up not buying any at all.

Anyone ever used a ps5 controller? It’s an absolute joke. It needs charged so often it’s technically not a wireless controller.

False advertising? Those screens at the bottom run at 1fps.

I traded in a few of my 360 shmups and bought a ps5 a few years ago.

Check how much inflation has jumped in just in the last row or 2.

@goldgriffin360 Inflation is one factor moving the needle in that direction but there are so many and larger things moving it in the other direction such as the audience it bigger now meaning they can charge less per game, the physical part of games costs less now than it did before and so on.

Are the games a power house for their price?

@sanderev Thats what I’m hoping but the proof will be in the pudding. Plus some of them wont be emulated properly/at all. It’s similar to the 360 backwards compatibility situation.

@johnvboy The only one in the facts section which could be disputed as a fact or not would be the games costing too much part but the market will soon make that decision I guess.

Facts -

• games cost too much
• switch 1 games are emulated & will have similar issues as xbox games on the 360
• the whole c button situation needing a subscription for a button
• it’s so much cheaper in japan meaning that they could charge so much less for it

My personal situation

• I dont need a new console rn, I buy an indie game on switch every other week or so
• I have the cash but not ready to spend it, between the console, a controller, a new 120hz monitor, I’m looking at £1000 all in.
  I’m not confident on how the eshop will transition

I’ll be waiting for after the release and I’m in no hurry.
