@Mana_Knight this game was a horror game at its core, whereas 2 and 3 took a more puzzle-action approach. I still like them all specially 3, but the first one is no doubt unique.
@Awnos not really, again the data is on the disc itself and no internet authentication or download required. Sure there is update data and DLC but that's optional and you're supposed to be able to play the game version that comes in the disc.
@Olmectron PS5 games requires installation unfortunately but the game data in on the disc itself, you don't need to connect to a server to download anything.
As someone who lives in Japan, I think I understand this move. Not only has the yen weakened but Nintendo wants to secure sovereignty here by making sure the price is within the purchasing power of the average consumer. They want to avoid the PS5 mistake which increased it's price twice here to match the overseas MSRP, thus resulting in poor sales. Switch keeps outselling the PS5 by a large margin on a weekly basis to this date.
@97alexk I also think both the Wii and WiiU original character design were superior and gave the game identity, whereas the Switch games look more generic. Cell-shaded anime style games are a dime a dozen now, I want the original models back!
@BlackenedHalo people insist on calling this a remaster, but anyone who played the WiiU original knows this is just another WiiU to Switch port with a slight resolution increase and UI improvements. Considering the Switch limitations, still a great port though.
A bad current trend unfortunately, It's all about pursuing that AAA cinematic experience. However, legendary directors like Kamiya, Suda51, Sakura himself, etc. seem to stick to their roots and it makes me happy.
@BenAV why not both, Wilds and Rise successor. A more compromised and optimized Series S version could probably run on NS2. I'm holding off on buying the PS5 version for the time being.
Hope this increase awareness, Nintendo has full control over these games and you can't do nothing about it. Keep paying for a volatile service and enjoy it while it exists.
@Anachronism Exactly, Xenoblade 2 was huge step down not only in terms of graphics but in art direction. What the first two entries did on Wii and Wii U is remarkable.
@HammerGalladeBro Probably branding, unlike Smash, this series has been inconsistent with the names. Sonic Racing is nice and simple, the goal even has a Mario Kart-style font now.
Coming to NS2 but not switch? Ok.. dev will miss a 150M install base for a game that could run on Switch and would automatically run on NS2 anyway, just saying.
@SplatRay001 I played Rise/Sunbreak alone. There are companions in Sunbreak (AI-controlled hunters) that you can bring along in your quests, the best MH game to play offline I'd say.

Re: Video: Street Fighter 6 Side-By-Side Comparison (Switch 2 & PlayStation 5)
@streetzman it's called voting with your wallet, I'm contributing by not supporting this.
Re: 'Switch 2 Editions' Are Supposedly A Switch Game Card And Download Code For The Upgrade Pack
The NS2 era will be a rough time for us physical game buyers in general.
Re: Video: Street Fighter 6 Side-By-Side Comparison (Switch 2 & PlayStation 5)
@riggah yep, except this "physical game" has absolutely no game data but a key. It's a physical license.

Now this is what I'm talking about, keep those coming and I'll gladly shell out $80.

Re: Random: Sakurai Sends Fans Into Meltdown Ahead Of Switch Direct
Whatever Sakurai is cooking I hope it's a full-fledged game for NS2 only.
Re: UK Charts: A Strong Xenoblade Debut Can't Escape Assassin's Creed's Shadow
For a moment I thought those were the Japanese charts, no way AC can beat Xenoblade in Japan.
Re: Rumour: A Switch 1 Direct Presentation May Take Place This Week
After DKCR HD, the rumored 60fps mode for Xenoblade X and the bad Yumia port, I'm ready to move on to NS2 for any future releases.

Re: Nintendo's Monolith Soft Updates Its Switch Portfolio With Latest Release
That ugly digital-only Future Redeemed cover sticks out like a sore thumb, a physical version would be awesome.
Re: Build Your Own Skell With This Xenoblade Chronicles X Model Kit
I got mine back in 2016 a soon as it was released an have yet to build it omg

Sawano Hiroyuki is the GOAT
Re: PSA: Nintendo Reminds Us It's Winding Down Gold Points Next Week
@Max_the_German exactly why I don't care about gold points, extremely flawed system for physical buyers.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition
@fabiop Indeed, this game blew my mind back in 2015 ands still holds up to this day just like many WiiU games.

Re: Review: Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist Of Memories & The Envisioned Land (Switch) - A Bold New Direction That Strains The Switch
@John_Deacon Even with a performance boost, it'll never look nearly as good as a native NS2 version.
Re: M2 Is Working On A Brand New 'Night Striker' Game
Wow looks insane!
Re: Atelier Yumia Scores Free Demo Next Week, While New Trailer Dives Into Gameplay
@Mario500 the Switch 2's cool name.
Re: Atelier Yumia Scores Free Demo Next Week, While New Trailer Dives Into Gameplay
Switch performance for this game is looking rough so far but I'm happy to be able to try it out first. An NS2 version would be much appreciated.
Re: Okami 2 Studio Won't Limit Itself To Sequels And Existing IP
The studio has yet to prove what they can do, please stay focused and make Okami 2 the best game it can possibly be first.

Xenoblade Cross, the correct pronunciation.

Re: How Would You Rate The Pokémon Presents Showcase For February 2025?
People complain about a late release and then complain about the lack of quality. Let them cook, the longer it takes the better.
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Is Ready To Terminate With T-1000 Character Trailer
@the_beaver same, this game was too much for Switch to handle.

Re: Not Even Squaresoft Could Convince Nintendo To Use Discs For The N64
Glad they stick to cartridges, loved them as a kid way more than the PS1 discs, still do.
Re: Nintendo Is Discontinuing Gold Points, One Of The Switch's Best Incentives
I forgot they existed lol I don't use the eShop.
Re: Sorry Okamiden Fans, It Sounds Like The Okami Sequel Will Basically Ignore The DS Follow-Up
Okamiden is great, nothing will change that.
Re: Split Fiction Dev Knows "A Lot" About Switch 2, But Can't Say Anything Yet

Re: Random: Takaya Imamura Wants To See Star Fox: Assault On Switch 2
I wish the original game had multiplayer bots.

This has to come to NS2!

Re: Nope, Monster Hunter Wilds Producer Still Won't Spill The Beans On A Switch 2 Port
@Slobbert I agree with you, not only does Rise has better mobility but each map is an open world area where you can explore without restrictions.
