Higher quality is subjective, I consider stereoscopic 3D to be high quality. Nice to have options though, this seems like a good port.

Nah, Smash Bros. needs a roster revision. Just because a Sony IP is coming out on Switch doesn't mean it should be represented in Smash Bros. I'd rather like the next Smash Bros. introducing more forgotten classic characters.

@Serpenterror and that's exactly what they did with GCN and WiiU, not their best years as you can see. Meanwhile, underpowered consoles like Wii and Switch put them back on track.

As long as it is 4K with HDR in TV mode we're good.

I'll double dip with this one, mainline SMT is still pretty niche and needs our support.

I entered the article with Smash Run in mind and was disappointed.

@Waluigi451 Original feels and looks better. If it wasn't because we are familiar with the original, the remake would feel more simplistic and basic.

@GalaxicGlobe I also like Color Splash and Paper Jam, underrated games.

@Waluigi451 Mario RPG remake is nice touch up but is not pushing any boundaries as the original did with its pre -rendered 3D graphics which paved the way for many masterpieces yet to come for next-gen consoles. The original as a darker more suitable tone honestly.

I'd love to see a "Series X and Series S" release for the next console. For those of us who don't care about the portability a more powerful system would be ideal, while a less capable but hybrid console would satisfy the portable players.

Never had a problem with controls, it suited the game perfectly. Splatoon-like controls could work for a fast paced game like this one I guess.

It won't be on the cartridge so just here for the batpoll.

A hard buy for me now.
I'd have gladly paid $30 for each game individually as long as they were physical.

MK11 looked and played great on Switch. It's safe to preorder this time.

@Cashews How on earth did the WiiU hold back Zelda when it was a WiiU game in the first place and the Switch couldn't even do much more than just bumping the resolution to 900p?

If anything I'd say BoTW is a mind-blowing graphical achievement on the WiiU while TotK is a less impressive result on what is supposed to be more capable hardware, six years later.

This has nothing to do with the love I have for both games though.

I'd gladly play it on the Switch. Loved CoD on Wii and Apex on Switch.

@roboshort BoTW originally featured gamepad integration which was dropped in favor of the Switch version, which is a shame tbh. Mario Kart 8DX just lacks identity, now it's a Tour port lol.
Can't argue with the titles you mentioned though, ports aside Switch is indeed bringing some great games to the table.

@Bolt_Strike Same could be said about Captain Toad, Mario 3D World, Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Pokken, Star Fox Zero, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. Because last I checked, there was nothing remotely resembling those games from the Switch originals.

I agree with the third staff writer. As much as I like the Switch library, it borrows a lot from other systems. Switch has no real Mario Kart, BoTW is a WiiU port, Splatoon 2&3 are great but it was the Wii U who paved that road.

@nessisonett The current visuals are timeless, love them. A new remake would be possible on Switch if they use the P5R engine though.

After this movie, and the establishment of Nintendo Pictures, I hope Miyamoto considers exploring a more cinematic approach for some of his games.

I'd rather see another WiiU quality DLC than a bloated mediocre "booster" pack. At this point they should just cancel the project and put that effort into a brand new Mario Kart already.

@antonio2244 I agree, this game received the same treatment as any other Mario Kart, as a result it feels like the next iteration in the series. Mario Kart 8 was great back in 2014 but it has aged, DX was not only unnecessary but got the series stuck. Tour is, in mobile shape, what MK9 would had been on Switch.

@Ade117 lol, anti-gravity? they just turned the vehicles into hover mode and call it a day, nothing here Tour can't handle. This track is obviously a Tour track ported and released first in MK8DX to save face. EVERY sigle track is a tour port, this way they can use the booster pass money to develop tracks for both games.

It was obvious, if anything it will be released alongside BoTW2 in Spring 2023 which is not this fiscal year.

@SteamEngenius That's false. MK11 got a great port on Switch, one of the best I must say. The developers knew what they were doing. Unless you are playing in portable mode using wi-fi which is a subpar experiece regardless of the game.
