I have more than 250 physical Switch games, but it looks like my NS2 collection will only contain the essentials. I'll keep hunting those Switch carts.
Steam Deck, a downgraded PC experience with relatively low game compatibility and digital only games. I'll stick with Switch thanks. NS2 is gonna destroy Steam Deck 2 just like Switch destroyed the Deck.
@Batfan2425 except the data is installed from the disc itself without any online verification or download. You can open a sealed PS5 in 100 years and it will install and play with no problem, that's isn't the case on NS2.
@Mana_Knight Definitely a bit of RE in the first Luigi's Mansion. The second game was designed with portability in mind so it feels more segmented than 3 but each mansion is significantly more complex than a single floor in 3, It's more its own thing rather than just a lesser 3. Really enjoyed it and I think it's totally worth playing.
@Mana_Knight this game was a horror game at its core, whereas 2 and 3 took a more puzzle-action approach. I still like them all specially 3, but the first one is no doubt unique.
@Awnos not really, again the data is on the disc itself and no internet authentication or download required. Sure there is update data and DLC but that's optional and you're supposed to be able to play the game version that comes in the disc.
@Olmectron PS5 games requires installation unfortunately but the game data in on the disc itself, you don't need to connect to a server to download anything.
As someone who lives in Japan, I think I understand this move. Not only has the yen weakened but Nintendo wants to secure sovereignty here by making sure the price is within the purchasing power of the average consumer. They want to avoid the PS5 mistake which increased it's price twice here to match the overseas MSRP, thus resulting in poor sales. Switch keeps outselling the PS5 by a large margin on a weekly basis to this date.
@97alexk I also think both the Wii and WiiU original character design were superior and gave the game identity, whereas the Switch games look more generic. Cell-shaded anime style games are a dime a dozen now, I want the original models back!
@BlackenedHalo people insist on calling this a remaster, but anyone who played the WiiU original knows this is just another WiiU to Switch port with a slight resolution increase and UI improvements. Considering the Switch limitations, still a great port though.
A bad current trend unfortunately, It's all about pursuing that AAA cinematic experience. However, legendary directors like Kamiya, Suda51, Sakura himself, etc. seem to stick to their roots and it makes me happy.
@BenAV why not both, Wilds and Rise successor. A more compromised and optimized Series S version could probably run on NS2. I'm holding off on buying the PS5 version for the time being.
Hope this increase awareness, Nintendo has full control over these games and you can't do nothing about it. Keep paying for a volatile service and enjoy it while it exists.
@Anachronism Exactly, Xenoblade 2 was huge step down not only in terms of graphics but in art direction. What the first two entries did on Wii and Wii U is remarkable.

Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Won't Make It Easy For Physical Collectors In Japan
If it's gonna be digital, then I might eventually get it through "cheaper" methods. I mean what's the difference? digital is digital.

Key cards are better than a code in a box yes, and so is cow dung compared to dog...
Re: Some Fans Are Drawing Unfavourable Comparisons Between Switch 2 And Xbox One
@sevex I think WiiU is more expensive at this point, Switch is dirt cheap.

The NS2 era will be a rough time for us physical game buyers in general.
Re: Video: Street Fighter 6 Side-By-Side Comparison (Switch 2 & PlayStation 5)
@riggah yep, except this "physical game" has absolutely no game data but a key. It's a physical license.

For a moment I thought those were the Japanese charts, no way AC can beat Xenoblade in Japan.
Re: Rumour: A Switch 1 Direct Presentation May Take Place This Week
After DKCR HD, the rumored 60fps mode for Xenoblade X and the bad Yumia port, I'm ready to move on to NS2 for any future releases.

Re: PSA: Nintendo Reminds Us It's Winding Down Gold Points Next Week
@Max_the_German exactly why I don't care about gold points, extremely flawed system for physical buyers.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition
@fabiop Indeed, this game blew my mind back in 2015 ands still holds up to this day just like many WiiU games.
