Nintendo's ultra-popular "super-tuff pink puff" has always been all about eating things, from maxim tomatoes to enemies. In fact, many of Kirby's games seem to open with him just about to partake in a feast of some sort, before it's cut short by whatever the problem is in Dreamland this time around. This focus on food has added a unique charm to the series, and soon it will be expanded upon in an interesting new way.
Nintendo recently opened a teaser site for a new establishment called Kirby Café. Not much is known about it, other than that it'll be a cafe of some sort featuring Kirby themed food and drink items. As it would happen, it's only opening in Japan for now, but this will be an interesting thing to follow as it nears opening day this August. After all, Nintendo's never opened a restaurant before. If you follow the source link, you can take a peek at the site itself, which features what appears to be Kirby and a Waddle Dee wearing their uniforms.
What do you think? Would you go to a Kirby Café if one opened near you? What do you think will be on the menu? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

I'll have the cream of Maxim Tomato soup, followed by a piece of Strawberry Shortcake for desert and an Invincibility Candy for the road! (>'-')> <('-'<) ^('-')^ v('-')v(>'-')> (^-^)
I want to see just how spicy the super spicy curry is.
Time to save up for a trip to Japan.
I'll just have the meta knight cap
Kirby become a fridge!
open one, in the west (and please be somewhere close to where im at) then you got a customer.
let's not forget how Kirby became this
Oh my God, YES
That's pretty damn cool.
I remember reading in NL, months ago, an article about some investors meeting and there was Nintendo planning to expand their investments in new areas (including restaurants) and - to me - it didn't sound like a new thing: they always partner with McDonalds and I thought that was all about this.
Turns out I was wrong and it surprise us in a very Japanese way!!
They were serious and creative about bringing their own restaurants!!
And it is Kirby themed!!
So cool, so clever, Nintendo!!!
Will I be able to eat the cooks, baristas (and patrons too?) and gain their powers?
Wow, what kind of menu that will be available ?
As long with reasonable price, it would be an artistic culinary experience.
I thought there already was a Pikachu Café in Japan, and a new Pokémon Café that recently opened in Singapore. Although, granted, The Pokémon Company can licence the Pokémon franchise independently from Nintendo.
YES!! So much yes! I need my Kirbyccino... why Japan, do you get the best things? Haha but yea, it sure sounds like an adorable idea, imagining Kirby music playing on the speakers and people working dressed up as Kirby characters. Not to mention food styled on the food seen in the games! <(^~^<)
if one opened near me I'd never leave
@PLATINUM7 bruh!
Kirby is teaching the kids that you are what you eat.
If Kirby Cafe is huge success, Nintendo should bring The Roost Cafe from Animal Crossing New Leaf for real. Complete with the coffee beans ( Blend, Mocha, Blue Mountain & Kilimanjaro) , Brewster uniform , Brewster logo , The Roost cafe theme and mixture of coffee drinks. We should prove by ourself how is the taste of those coffee.
OH MY- Nintendo actually did something smart and amazing for once!
Gourmet Race better be playing in there 24/7!
I'm beyond of the beyond relieved right now. When I heard they were making restaurants I was so paranoid it wouldn't be based off their IP's and they'd slow down in gaming. Then again I knew if they were based off there IP's it would be absolutely amazing! And of course in Japan first...
They had one job with the restaurants...and they did it perfectly!
Awesome! Well first things first... before Nintendo brings restaurants to the west, they need to bring Nintendo stores in multiple locations of the world (like the NY store) and then when they've did that, open restaurants!
Move over Starbucks!
But if Kirby ever inhales...
Chances of it opening anywhere other than Tokyo seem pretty slim, but I'll just keep my hopes up that they decided that Sapporo is the Kirby capital of the world.
