Indie developer Nexis Games is releasing a Call of Duty-style shooter on the Wii U eShop in the hope that the revenue generated will speed up the completion of its Minecraft-inspired title UCraft.
Taking more than a little inspiration from Mojang's phenomenally successful title, UCraft was intended as a Wii U exclusive but the failure of the game's 2014 Kickstarter campaign forced its developer to bring the title to PC as well. The Wii U version was supposed to be released last year but the launch date was missed. The arrival of the real thing on Nintendo's console means that UCraft could face an uphill struggle when it does eventually arrive on the Wii U eShop.
In the meantime, Nexis is pinning its hopes on Draw The Line, which is expected to launch on the Wii U, PS4, Xbox One and PC sometime over the next few months and has already gained an ESRB rating of "Mature". The game is confirmed to have a single-player campaign, an arena battle mode and multiplayer.
Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think, and if you're still keen to get your hands on UCraft.

If this is playable, then I'll be buying it. Ucraft not so much, but draw the line looks decent enough.
Well.....the trailer is ok. I probably don't need another FPS for my Wii U but who knows. Maybe the reviews will convince me that it is a worthy buy.
@LegendOfPokemon What nudity?
@LegendOfPokemon No nudity here ;o
This game looks like generic budget FPS.
Hhhmmm. Dat Kar Racing!
I'm afraid this isn't that promising, feels really cheap and unoriginal.
Nice soundtrack, though... Does anyone have lyrics, please?
@LegendOfPokemon Also, nudity bothers you, but blowing people's heads and limbs off is OK?
Needs funds to complete Ucraft, but where did he get funds to complete this actually better looking title? I mean, he's got several other games in development as well.
Anyway, this looks decent enough, running around with gun blazing bikini girls. I'm gonna check it out if gyro and/or wiimote controls are supported.
The only game Nexis Games released on Wii U was a block breaker/Arkanoid clone called BRICK BLAST U!, and I didn't hear good things about it apart from the music. And it was NA only, so... I have my concerns about this ever being completed or coming to EU.
@SKTTR Some how I doubt they will take the time to add wiimote controls but you make some good points about the other projects they have going on. At this point I think Ucraft is a mute point on the Wii U anyways. If released a year ago today it would have got some decent sales but definitely not now.
@RantingThespian He obviously missed the admittedly barely visible top...
But in all honesty, my first thought when I opened this article was also "hey Nintendo, don't you want to censor this?" seeing as they so like to censor stuff that is even remotely hinting at something offensive...
no
@ULTRA_BARLOWE That was uncalled for...
I hope projects both turn out great.
There are a lot of bad games with decent trailers, this one has a really ugly trailer, so i'm not really sure it's going to be something interesting...
Yeah that trailer does not look even remotely promising for Draw the Line.
Jeez its like new reckoning came to consoles.
@ULTRA_BARLOWE @Megumi_Sagano
...yea, that's Crossing the Line..aha..
I couldn't help thinking of Devil's Third while watching that trailer. Cheap and trashy, but potentially fun.
@LegendOfPokemon There is no nudity, although the woman's very light beige coloured bikini top (as well as the bright light) does make it look like it is part of her skin. I should not say this, but look closely!
She's scantily dressed all right, but she's definitely not showing anything objectionable though.
New to the site here; not a Minecraft guy but this looks OK to me. I'll probably get it.
Dose low-rate indie shovelware graffix do.
Looks to be not even as good as the conduit.
It looks pretty good but the most important thing is make sure it runs well over graphics and got fun gameplay aswell.
WiiWare and WiiU's eShop have been extremely embarrassing. I hope the NX's digital storefront exercises at least some minimum quality standard. And yes, I'd rather see 2 polished games released than 50 hobbyist wastes of bytes.
@TTGlider
I've been rather impressed by the Wii U store, in terms of usability.
Frankly, I don't know of a single digital store front I like better.
But content? Yeah, there's a lot of bullpoop on there. Even more than was the case on Wii Ware. And they let people get away with having tiny games take up hundreds of megabytes.
"No Holds Bars Combat"
Oh, this is one of those games...and it's got graphics pulled from Counterstrike, albeit with some lighting and texture upgrades thrown in...and there's a scantily clad chick for no reason.
Since when did they start charging for Steam mods? Did they learn nothing from DamnationTM?
Perverted chuckle Hey, know what I'm staring at in the headline image? Heh-heh... that bright tree in the background!
It looks a bit crappy, but if it's got gyro controls and the price is right, I might be interested...
@8itmap_k1d Exactly! I really enjoyed Devil's Third.
I hope it's actually fun. I love when an indie game does something fun with limited resources.
This looks absolutely terrible. I hope you guys aren't starving for content enough to buy this.
@RantingThespian
You summed up my issues with censorship right there.
It's amazing how disturbing the implications are: all kinds of gore and stuff are covered with an M rating, and yet a few nipples bump it up to AO.
I wouldn't bank on this making him too much money.
Meh... I would rather just play the 2 CoD's that are on the Wii U than this. Certainly not the worst looking FPS I've seen, but it's still just a cheap, generic CoD clone.
And seriously with the UCraft? Why would they bother when the real Minecraft is on the Wii U now? No one is going to care and it wont sell.
