US gamer here, I managed to get mine by physically pre-ordering at Gamestop. I recommend this approach over gambling with online if there are any future limited edition products from Nintendo, since you can just get there early and secure your spot.
They might have rejected it due to low quality rather than objectionable content. IIRC they almost did the same with Devil's Third before there was an uproar.
Did that cross-play update come yet? I'm not all that interested in building things in Minecraft, but the game interests me for the ability to explore all of those crazy user created maps. I never bought the game because I figured most of the cool stuff would be made on the PC version.
Here I was thinking all of the weapons in this game were pretty good. Glad they're finally adding in the worst weapon from the original so I can splat all the noobs dumb enough to use it. xD
Splatoon was already a 9.5/10 game for me. If this is improved Splatoon, I think it certainly deserves a 10.
I think the reason this game is only sitting at 84% is what I'm gonna call the Pokemon Emerald effect for lack of a better name, in reference to Pokemon Emerald having a score 6 points lower than Ruby/Sapphire despite being almost objectively better. In other words, because it's just an improved version of the original as opposed to a brand new, completely unique game, people rather unfairly rate it lower even if it's technically better.
When people say stupid things like "The Project M developers could make a better Smash game than Sakurai" show them this and tell them there's so much more that goes into making a full game than making a mod.
They say they're trying to be extremely player friendly which is a good sign, but we'll see if their actions match their words with the base game content and pricing of what is essentially physical DLC.
They say you can get the parts digitally but don't specify if that's through normal gameplay or paying for it. If you can get the parts normally in the game, with the toys being sold simply for the novelty of adjusting parts on the fly in the real world, this sounds pretty great. Again though, I don't know that they'll actually do that.
Wondering if we'll be able to level up and visit the shops during the splatfest, since they are in the demo and just not usable because you are too low level.
I'd love to be able to buy and try out some other weapons.
As far as I know this is the cheapest Switch compatible controller there is, even cheaper than a single joy-con, so it might be worth it if you just need some extra controllers for multiplayer. I don't see any reason to use this over the joy-cons in grip for singleplayer though.
Kind of disappointed that Ribbon Girl was not nerfed alongside the Hydra, since one of the main reasons people were using the Hydra so much is that it's one of the few arms which can reliably hit an airborne Ribbon Girl. Still, this is a step in the right direction and I'm sure they'll keep working on balance updates through future patches.
Guardian buff is especially exciting to me since they always seemed really unique and fun to use but just didn't quite cut it.
Very disappointed that Grant isn't in this show, since he was my favorite character in Castlevania 3. Also the lack of any Castlevania music is lame...
I almost want them to just not have it available for pre-orders at all. You go to the store on release day and whoever gets there first gets it. Might help to deter scalpers some too, because people waiting in the store that see someone buying 10 of them would start a riot if they sold out.
I don't have much interest in designing my own RPGs, but I'm sure as hell not going to pass up the opportunity to play free games made by other players. I'm just hoping it's not a Mario Maker situation where 95% of them are terrible "troll" games and you have to look really hard to find the quality stuff, but that's probably inevitable in any game with content sharing.
You know what? I can respect that. Thanks for just saying no. Much better than the developers of the Wii U era always saying "well, it's definitely something we'll look at!" and never following through.
To be honest, the whole "retro, halfway-between-8-and-16bit style" thing comes off to me as an excuse to not have detailed sprites. There's nothing wrong with using 16-bit graphics, but you still have to put in the effort to make them look nice. That town square scene for instance looks significantly worse than the similar area in Chrono Trigger, released more than 20 years ago.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Whether you like the original Star Fox or not it's a popular game that a lot of other people (myself included) love and are happy to see on the SNES mini. It's silly to complain about them including a classic, iconic game just because you personally don't like it.
Seems like the gameplay is staying basically the same, with a bunch of puzzles to be solved and wandering around to find those puzzles. That's all I need from a Layton game. Not a big fan of the protagonist from the trailer, but I might grow to like her. Plus, Hershel Layton himself will be showing up for sure, so he's not totally gone.
Yeah, I agree that looking at the open ended approaches to Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey, Metroid deserves that same treatment as well. Especially as a contrast to Other M, which was terribly limiting.
As long as it's not stupidly expensive to unlock everything like with Skylanders, I'm down with this. Honestly, it's just nice to see a multiplatform game not skipping the Switch.
@LeRaposa It was really just the past 2 years. Nintendo has had plenty of amazing E3 events, and this year already at the very least will probably have new information on a number of previously announced but hardly seen games like Xenoblade 2, Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Switch and Fire Emblem Warriors. Plus, they pretty much always save at least one major new game reveal for E3. (Pikmin 4 being a likely possibility for example.)
Pretty sure the left stick is used for both moving and curving punches. I don't think it's possible to move and curve punches at the same time with any control scheme.
Funny how when you actually put the same amount of effort into the Nintendo port as the other versions, it sells just as well or better. If only more companies would follow their lead.

Re: Nintendo Shows Off Awesome SNES Classic 'Nintendo Power' Covers
I can't help wondering if the "suggestive themes" in the ESRB rating is due to Arthur in his underwear.
Re: Review: Severed (Switch eShop)
I kind of wish they allowed for TV play using motion controls like Skyward Sword, or even a pointer like World of Goo uses for TV mode on Switch.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Is Getting a Season Pass
I was on the fence about getting this game. This just tipped me towards not buying it.
