Sumo Digital has confirmed that its Switch title Snake Pass will go on sale from today June 27th until 4th July, with a 40 percent discount off the typical cost of the game. The occasion? The Summer Solstice, of course.
To coincide with this news, the studio has released a trailer - which you can view above - that contains a small taster of the DLC which is due to hit the game this year.

First Switch game sale! Glad to see them start cutting prices.
Cool, I think this is the first Switch shop game to get a sale, I hope more will follow soon.
It's nice they have decided to shed some snakecosts off the price. I really hope they do a retail release soon. Met one of the developers. Lovely people!
First sales already ?
The game really looks good too.
Brilliant, I still have this on my watch list!
It's kind of quick for a sale(though PS4 got the 40% discount a couple of weeks ago). Seems like a reasonable sale price and they're still working on updating the game.
At that price now I'll bite
Well worth playing. Kind of wish I'd have waited for the discount but it's a good game with usual pricing
I've been waiting for a discount on this one, as I'm unsure if the gameplay is for me. I'll be picking it up now.
By the way @Damo, today is the 27th.
I wasn't ever going to buy this. However, with this sale I think I am now
@Jack_Goetz So it is! Corrected!
Definitely getting it at that price. My first DL game after Snipperclips. I'm going to get them all!
Might be tempted to get this now.
I was on the fence for it, now I am not =]
I have now purchased it, thanks for the heads up
Great price
£9.59 and earn 20 gold coins to redeem on all them lovely my Nintendo rewards
Really wish I'd waited to buy this! Downloaded day 1 but so far, haven't really had a chance to play it.
In work so can't check. But what price is it now? Is it worth a go?
Edit: in Euro please
bought B]
@readyletsgo 11,99€
To anyone that has hours a good chunk of hours into this,is it worth a purchase?I'm saving money for Splatoon 2 but this could be worth it at sale price
I meant put hours into this(stupid phone!)
@PlayedNSlayed I have completed the game 100%, took me around 12h to do it. In short, I really enjoyed it! At first controlling Noodle is kinda hard, but once you understand the mechanics it's really satisfying to collect everything.
The checkpoint system is a bit of a pain, so make sure to always come back to one after doing something hard and you'll be fine.
This is a great game, I'd recommend it to any platformer fan, specially on a sale!
@PlayedNSlayed It's less than a tenner, go for it
I'm probably buying it now, had considered before. Looks like a fun game.
Excellent. I'll give it a go for less than a tenner. No idea when I'll get chance to play it but hey ho.
OK then......I shall purchase at that price 😉👍
I wanted to buy this game day one. Glad I held off!
It's been on the watch list since it launched, just have so many games right now. At this price though, I'm definitely getting it.
Soooo....how much is it now with the discount then?
It's a great game, worth it even more now!
@invictus4000 Original price - 40% = new price
@RoomB31 haha, Thanks. What's the original price?? Wasn't it like $29.99?
@invictus4000 Original price was $19.99, so should be $11.99 or thereabouts.
I'd love a retail release of this.
@invictus4000 and everyone else — the original eShop prices are in the red info box in the right sidebar, if you're on a browser. Not exactly sure where that shows up if you're viewing the page mobile, but it should be somewhere.
This has been on my wishlist, but I'll totally buy it for $12.
Here's hoping the DLC doesn't arbitrarily skip the Switch version as often happens with Nintendo games.
I can't recommend this highly enough! Snake Pass is one of my favorite games from this year so far, and well worth the full asking price if you're interested in innovative platformers full of personality.
Meh. Kinda strikes me as a filler launch title for when people beat Zelda and didn't have anything else to play.
Literally bought this yesterday lol. Ah well, it seems to be worth the full asking price.
Several months into the console's life and games start getting discounts. Nintendooooooooomed~ XD
Oh Man! I literally bought an eshop card to get this game last night. Then for no reason decided to hold off. Now they knock off 8 bucks today and I can happily dance over to my Switch and purchase without hesitation. This kind of thing almost always happens in reverse for me.
I had fun with this game, and will check out the DLC. The music and atmosphere is great, and something that is just relaxing. Perfect to play on a lazy Sunday afternoon with a few beers.
Didn't pick this up as I already have a backlog (I always seem to play games slower than I buy them), but at this price it seems wrong not to add it to said backlog.
Great, I'll get this when I get home.
@BionicDodo It'll go cheaper one day...
Great timing. I just ordered a Switch yesterday. I wasn't going to get Snake Pass so soon but this worked out great.
Are they using that massive font in the video to try and cover how blurry the graphics are?
Sweet - seen a lot of people have fun with this game. Less than £10 for a new Switch game to play over the weekend, can't go wrong with that
I'm slithering onto a purchase now! Just couldn't get the game b4 I'm all in now. My friend bought it and I played it at his house. Quite excellent.
I've had it since it came out. There is a learning curve for the controls. But if you're willing to give it an hour to learn it's a good platformer. It feels like something Rare would've made...the old Rare.
Excellent. I'll be picking it up this evening then!
It shows as $19.99 on the eShop when I look at it in the States. What's the deal?
Needs a demo before I would purchase.
I was holding off for a sale, so I will definitively pick it up now. I think this is the first digital game sale on the Switch.
A sale was all I needed to take the plunge, I'll get it now.
Less than £10 is definitely a better price for more people to take the plunge. I just hope that they fix the faults regarding the visuals and the joy con rumble pretty sharpish.
Weirdly I thought, and NL seem to agree on the side bar, that the game was £16.99 on the eshop but looking on the online eshop is has a price of £15.99 slashed to £9.59. How odd.
Paid full price at launch and don't regret it. Now I can double dip on PS4 since it says that it applies to all digital platforms. Game is pretty good once you get the hang of it and if you have the patience.
As I have said before, tutorials would have made wonders for understanding how to pick up speed, and specially climbing bamboo poles as you have to find out for yourself.
I almost bought it earlier in the week; it had been on my radar for a long time. Glad I waited now! Downloaded right when I saw this sale
Picked it up. First digital purchase for my switch
Tempting although I'm a bit nervous about the learning curve for the controls.
The first discounted game on Switch!!!
It took 16 weeks. How long after launch was the first discounted sale on Wii U?
@PlayedNSlayed I'm about half way through the game I think. At first I was no good but once the controls clicked I started to really enjoy getting the harder coins. You can play it in short bursts or settle in for a long session. If you are a patient gamer and like hard audacious manoeuvres then go for it. It's pretty rewarding
At first I was asking "WHAT DLC!?" Then I saw the strawberry thing at the end of the video.
@Dev They released a patch ages ago that fixed the HD Rumble issue. That's been fixed for a while now.
I wanted a demo of this before I made a decision whether to purchase it or not, but now that it's down to such a low price, I can't really say no anymore, can I?
Like @Pigeon I found the initial price a little steep, especially with the Canadian dollar exchange premium. The 40% off sale brought it down to a price I was willing to try it. I have a four day weekend coming up so hopefully I will have time between my adult responsibilities and the BotW DLC to give it a fair try.
I'd say it's worth its initial price too, but everyone with a Switch should pick it up at this discounted price! A bit different plattformer, but a really enjoyable game
Ah, the first Switch sale!
Enjoyed the first level I played through but I only found 3 of the 5 coins so I'll have to do it again for OCD sake.
The HD rumble is very, very loud however and I can't play this in bed with the other half sleeping so I probably won't pick it up again until they patch it. Hopefully the patch comes swiftly.
I'll get it for that price. Been curious.
Downloading as I type ! I had been tempted but just perhaps not enough before and now that seems like a decent price to give this a go! First new game I have got since mario kart deluxe
My wife just started playing it and my 65 year old father in law's reaction when he saw it was brilliant. "What's that then?! Hunt the worm in the forest?"
