Last week Nintendo outlined extensive plans for PAX West, which is right around the corner, and it's ramped up the hype with some neat promotional art for the Super NES Classic Edition.
The following tweet shows off three special collector's posters that revive the Nintendo Power brand in order to promote the diminutive system; you can see them all below.
It was previously confirmed that these will be part of a giveaway at the Nintendo Minute presentation of Metroid: Samus Returns, which is on 2nd September at 10-11am (local time) in the Hydra Theatre Leonesa I-III Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt Seattle hotel.
They're a nice nostalgia kick, and a reminder that we'll all be enjoying some retro goodness with the SNES Mini (those that can get a unit, anyway).

So this is why Nintendo ordered the Internet Archive to take down its public library of Nintendo Power magazines.

Probably the closest thing to a snes classic most people will be able to get.
I remember a time where I could look at all Nintendo Power content online.
This just makes me want Nintendo Power back (although Nintendo Force has proved to be a pretty damn good replacement).
I really hope that SNES games will be available on the eshop for Switch !!! (along with GC games later on)

Nintendo should release a Nintendo Power app on Switch - one price for all issues - download them individually or stream them. Could read the guides while I play my mini.

Got my SNES Classic pre-ordered. Now if only Nintendo would revive Nintendo Power! I'd love to see that magazine return, potentially as digital-only to cut down on distribution costs.

Does this bother anyone else? Why even bother marketing something to a majority of consumers who will never have the opportunity to purchase it? If this is for "enthusiasts" only why bother with the campaign? Why bother with the emails that were sent out to ALL Nintendo Club members? It seems like salt in the wound for most and in poor taste. Especially since it includes a never released game - upon which they seem to be placing a lot of focus - that most won't get to play.
I'm gonna play Devil's advocate on this one. I know the preorder situation has gotten everyone thinking that this is the NES Classic all over again, but Nintendo did say they were making more units available, maybe there will be a bit more stock out there... I don't know, let's hope.
They have been slowly recovering from the economic crash that the Wii U gave them, maybe things will pick up.
@Al_Godoy A lot of companies say things to drum up hype/bury the lead. It's easy for Nintendo to say "Don't worry we are going to have more." But they are already showing they aren't on track to keep that promise.
They should have used the same trick with NES Classic Edition as well.

I have a feeling that the SNES Classic will actually be substantially easier to get ahold of than the NES Classic. Maybe it isn't RIGHT NOW, but with Star Fox 2 included, it will most definitely have a massively increased production run. Just hang tight, everyone.
I have hundreds of classic Nintendo power magazines including the very first one I got back in 1988 when they were giving them away for free at Toys R Us. That was always a terrific magazine. I was heartbroken when they sold it to Future and they stuffed it full of ads, which it never had before, and then they just cancelled the whole magazine. Really sad. I always loved how when Nintendo owned it and a subscription was only $20, you'd get a free strategy guide of your choice too. Some of those guides are classics. I've got all those too including some very rare ones. Nintendo at one time was such a fantastic company. Anyone remember those good 'ol days?

@CheezIt I remember when they used to give away stuff like the Zelda Collection or t-shirts. It was such a good time to be a Nintendo fan! If you miss it I do recommend Nintendo Force as they don't have ads and are a fantastic successor to the Power.
