Is there no way to play a specific stage in competitive multiplayer? Downloading a stage and playing it locally automatically puts you in co-op mode, and creating a room for multiple players automatically picks random online stages to play.
Why is the physical game $34.99 in the first place when the game is only $16.99 digitally with frequent sales? Seems like a huge ripoff no matter how pretty the boxart is.
Great adventure games on the Switch that are cheaper than this include, but are not limited to: Broken Age, Grim Fandango Remastered, Book of Unwritten Tales 2, Syberia 1&2, Bad Dream Coma, Thimbleweed Park, and Machinarium. It seems kind of hard to justify getting this when there are so many cheaper alternatives that are just as good.
It's 10 bucks on Steam right now, but 40 bucks on the Nintendo Switch. That's not okay. Don't buy this if you don't want to be ripped off, especially considering the wide range of cheaper, equally good point and click games on the Switch.
The Rotten Tomatoes score actually puts it over 20 points higher than Rampage, making it the most critically acclaimed video game film adaptation of all time.
I wonder if the 50% is of your maximum HP, or your remaining HP?
If it's the former it's kind of a bad move that will probably only be relevant for it's Z-move and as a last ditch effort. If it's the latter though, it could be a devastating tool for a choice scarf or choice specs wielder.
This game is amazing in my opinion. One of the most intense and enjoyable games I've ever played, with my only complaint being that it's too short. I suppose your enjoyment of the game depends on whether or not you like tough boss battles though, since that's really the whole game.
@thesilverbrick My guess is it's because of the female protagonist from the new Persona 5 being an alt, which they had to keep secret since Atlus hadn't revealed it yet.
Wow, I'm surprised and impressed to see a reviewer actually taking price and microtransactions into account for their review. I hate it when EA games and the like get good reviews on account of the reviewers getting the content for free.
I'm disappointed in the lack of Codename: Steam, but this is otherwise an excellent list. I'm especially happy to see Steamworld: Heist and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward so deservedly high on the list.
I don't care about VR all that much so I hadn't taken much notice of this, but the ability to create your own games sounds pretty awesome so I'm now quite interested.
To be honest I bought this game because I assumed the bare bones content on release meant it would be getting expansions. I guess it's not too late for that but the lack of attention to this game is concerning.
So this is actually pretty doable with pause buffering strategies, OP spirits, and a lot of patience. The main obstacle is trolls that come into chat and type commands to quit out of the battles.
I'll get back into this game... eventually. I haven't played since around October 2017 so by the time I hop back in it will probably feel like an entire new game.
My biggest hope for gen 8 is skippable cutscenes because my god does the dialogue drag on in some of the recent games. Also skippable tutorials, because I don't need a mandatory ten minute tutorial for a weird carnival thing I don't plan on using just so I can wonder trade.
As others have said, play the original Yume Nikki instead. It's free and it will run on a toaster. Dream Diary is a weak attempt at making the surreal, free form original into something more "video gamey" and marketable.
Looking at Paul W. S. Anderson's filmography, the most critically acclaimed film he has made in over 20 years in the industry is 2008's Death Race, which has a whopping 43% on RottenTomatoes. Most of his films score in the 20-40 range. So he doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
I really like Civ 6 on the Switch but even more than the DLCs I think it could use a patch. The game crashes pretty frequently and doesn't seem to be optimized for games with more civs/larger maps than the default settings. A graphics settings option would be amazing since I'd gladly turn off some idle animations in exchange for the game running smoothly and not crashing.
@Retupmocnin I mean that's kinda just how the KH series is.
I don't know if I'd call KH writing bad so much as it's written for a certain audience. Specifically, the audience that watches Naruto and uses "Rawr xD" unironically.

This is way better priced than the DLC for the previous FE games. I hated how expensive Awakening and Fates DLC were.
