If their goal is to balance out the economy, this is a terrible way to do it. The damage from the item dupe glitch has been done, so making it harder for people to get money now only furthers the divide between people who abused the glitch before it was patched and those that didn't.
This looks neat but I feel like it's a bit over-reliant on having a large userbase to actually be worth getting. If nobody else is playing it than there will be no shared games to play and nobody to share your games with. Will definitely keep my eye on this one and see if it gains any traction.
@Toy_Link Yeah, I'd certainly support letting players download specific Villagers for either free or a low price if they want them. I absolutely, 100% would NOT support lootboxes of any kind though.
@TheDavyStar What I like about Nintendo is that in the rare case their games are bad, it's because they are either somewhat dull and uninspired (in the case of games like Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis Ultra Smash) or they tried something new and it didn't work out (in games like Starfox Zero or Paper Mario: Sticker Star). Unlike other companies, their games are never glitchy or blatantly unfinished. With Nintendo I can at least see that if nothing else, they BELIEVED they were putting out a good product. They don't try to rip people off or pull a fast one on consumers.
Can you confirm or deny whether or not players besides the resident representative can use the island designer app? I've seen conflicting information about this online and it's very important to me as the second player on my island.
I can vouch for Mercenaries Saga Chronicles. It's a very stereotypical FFT style game without any bells or whistles, but since it comes with three games you get a ton of content for your money. Plus if you're like me, a no frills SRPG is very enjoyable.
@Haywired I don't think the games being essentially the same with a few minor tweaks actually applies here. New Horizons has some pretty substantial changes and additions compared to Wild World.
Is it possible to play co-op with pro controllers? All of the information I've seen about it says you can do it with a single joy con, but all of my joy cons drift so I'd much rather play co-op with two pro controllers.
Binged through the game in one sitting for about 6 hours last night from 8 PM to 2 AM. Given the theme of a drunken night out it felt like a very appropriate way to experience this. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and am looking forward to a second playthrough since it seems like this game actually follows through on its idea of multiple ways to get through, which is something the telltale games tend to lack.
Honestly surprised Fates isn't higher. I was under the impression it was mostly a vocal minority that hated it and its popularity was higher than people think it is. I'm a bit sad to see it really is as divisive as it appeared to be.
Oh well, at least Three Houses is on top and Heroes and Shadow Dragon are way in the bottom where they belong.
@KingBowser I agree that they shouldn't be making any more 3DS games at this point (which they aren't) but I see no reason they shouldn't still support online services for it as long as possible.
If you don't like a game and want to leave a negative review, that's fine! Go ahead and do it! But leave ONE negative review, so that it can be balanced out by others and the user score can still be an average of how everyone feels, not just you. Review bombing is basically deciding that your opinion is the only one that matters.
Smash Bros. may work as a competitive game, but it isn't meant to be taken this seriously. That isn't what Nintendo made the series for. I respect the decision to more or less leave it to the players to organize things for themselves if they want to play it that way.
It's like making delicious pizzas, then finding out there is a competitive pizza tossing scene that uses your pizzas because they are incredibly aerodynamic, and people spend thousands of hours practicing this for some reason and stake their livelihood on it, and now they are mad at you for not organizing and giving prize money to the winners of the pizza tossing contests.
To clarify, Civ 6 is great. Not the Switch version though. It crashes frequently late game, keeps getting game breaking bugs patched INTO the game, and takes 5+ minutes to load (which wouldn't be that big of an issue, if not for the crashing). You can get some fun on the Switch version, but only if you keep the settings very conservative like not going above standard map size, keeping disasters on low etc.
I'm a little bit confused. How does 8 players on an online shared island work when it comes to changes you make to the island? Do you have to always be online if you choose to share an online with other players? Does it update when you save?
I honestly do love these kinds of dumb games, but $20 for a game that's intentionally bad is a bit of a stretch. I'm too lazy to check but I'm guessing that's a Switch tax and this is like, 5 bucks on steam.
@Varkster I agree, it seems like every game they've released has been slightly worse than the one before it, and they're still a bit overreliant on the same tricks as the original Layers of Fear, which are becoming less and less surprising and novel every game. I'd love to see them make a big return though.
@OorWullie It gets better the further you get into it. It suffers a bit from being part Layers of Fear (the good part) and part... walking around an apartment complex.
@pip_muzz Sad to hear that, but I'm glad to hear the developer has the decency to pull the game from the store when they realized it was broken. Other studios, like Firaxis with Civilization 6, decide to put their game on sale while it's broken...
@Kalmaro Even for Xenoblade 2, the game is good in spite of having a gacha system, not because of it. Gacha systems really only exist as a way of forcing players to spend money, so games without microtransactions using it are a bit misguided to be honest.
I haven't played this in a while but the buffs to Splattershots seem a bit odd. In my experience they were always one of the more popular and generally considered "good" weapons as is. Unless they got nerfed hard in another patch in the past year or so since I've played actively.
I might be missing one or two, but it looks like the only Nintendo published games confirmed for 2020 so far are Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore, Brain Training and Yokai Watch 4.
Really hoping they have some big announcements slated for a Nintendo Direct soon because right now 2020 looks pretty sparse.
Yeah I think the biggest problem here is the redundancy factor of having some games on the list multiple times for identical or nearly identical versions. It's a bit silly to call Breath of the Wild both the best game of the decade and the second best game of the decade. Not to mention silly things like updated ports that are straight up better being ranked lower than the originals like Tropical Freeze and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
@exDeveloper There's certainly ways around that though. With the larger number of buttons on Switch controllers they could easily set a button for a quick 180 degree turn-around for instance.

Done. Although the cell phone question was awkward since I have an old early 2000s cell phone and it only asked if I had an IOS, Android or both...

@mesome713 "People are begging for loot boxes to enter Animal Crossing."
Literally who?

Do not buy the Switch version of Civilization 6. It is buggy, poorly optimized, and seems to get worse every time they patch it.
