I heard that the Mario Kart ride in the original park had ridiculously restrictive size requirements. As someone who is 6 foot 4 and 250 pounds I'm concerned that I would make the trip and wait in line for 2 hours only to find out I'm too large to fit in the car.

As somebody who insisted on playing Tsukihime (Fate's predecessor) with the H-scenes, I wished I hadn't. They're really badly written and cringy. I think l, purists aside, this game is probably better without them.

Whenever someone says Pokemon SV has a great overworked I'm just like... have you played BotW or TotK? Or any of the Xenoblade games? He'll, it doesn't even compare favorably to Skyrim

@Kiyata I'm all for keeping physical game sales alive but does it really need to be from Gamestop? The shopping experience is so miserable because they try to get you to sign up for a million programs and pre-order other games and purchase a "warranty" that you'll never be able to use. Not to mention they have terrible selection because they fill half the store with funko pops and other useless crap nobody wants.

In Xenoblade Chronicles X, it's the endgame grind for me. The material costs for endgame augments combined with randomized equipment drops, only some of which are usable, mean that beating the final superbosses requires tens of hours of grinding compared to everything else in the game. It's my favorite game of all time, but I always come just short of 100% completion because Telethia is just not possible without a massive time investment.

Honorary mention to Kos-Mos in xenoblade 2, who doesn't require quite as much grinding as endgame gear in X but is still miserable.

Kind of a weird choice of genre for a Demon Slayer game but sure I guess.

Somewhat off-topic, but the article states that 72% of kids are asking for video game related gifts, and only 57% of parents are buying video game related gifts. So that means a lot of kids aren't getting the games they ask for.

Sorry guys, I normally buy 100k copies of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe every month, but with the state of the economy right now I could only afford 50k copies this month. It's probably my fault it dropped.

Studio Ghibli is truly the Dark Souls of Earthbound-inspired Metroidvanias that are reminiscent of Twin Peaks.

I almost always buy DLC for games I get, but this game is such a mess I have no desire to return to it.

$45 of DLC before the game is out is a yikes from me. I know lootboxes and NFTs are the bigger boogeyman of DLC nowadays but this is still egregious.

It's a bit of a tall ask, since if you're an Annapurna fan you probably already own at least half of these, and if you're not an Annapurna fan you aren't likely to pay 200 bucks for this.

A bit of an issue here is that if you've already read the book and know the big twist, I imagine it takes away from the mystery/deduction aspects of the game.

If I had known this was beamdog, I wouldn't have been excited for it in the first place. Neverwinter Nights on Switch is a similarly unplayably bad port.

So basically if a bunch of 4chan trolls decide they hate a game because it has a trans character in it or something, they can make bots that uninstall and reinstall the game en mass to bankrupt the studio. This is wrong for so many reasons.

I think it might be more fun to switch the language to French or something for the flowers. Hopefully alternate language voice acting without changing the text language is an option like it is in BotW.

Don't buy this game on Switch. It crashes extremely frequently to the point that it's basically unplayable on anything but the smallest maps. The review is inaccurate because the default settings for the switch version put you on a Tiny size map, which I'm guessing is what the reviewer played.

Don't Denuvo games require a constant online connection even for single player games? If that's the case it defeats the entire purpose of the Switch being a console you can play anywhere.

I'm almost certain this will have microtransactions and thus by default be worse than Splatoon.

For those worried that he did this to make the game rare and jack up the price, that doesn't look to be the case. The game is still only 20 bucks on Amazon and as low as 6 dollars on ebay, so if you want your own copy it's still very easily obtainable. It's a common game and 1000 or even 2500 copies are barely a dent in the total supply.

Would be a different story if he did this with something like Crystalis or Earthbound of course.

Even for the games I already own, it's still easier to just download them than it is to figure out how to dump the rom myself. I think maybe a literal 1% of emulator users actually use them the "intended" way.

Steamworld Heist was great and did have its own unique mechanics, but they seem more intent on bouncing around to different genres with every new game rather than refining previous games.

Wait, so people that bought (or spent money on at least? Cant remember if its f2p but I know it definitely has microtransactions) Overwatch on Switch just have a literally unplayable husk of a game now? There's not even any singleplayer or local multiplayer?

@Teksetter @Boyward The profanity is a bit cringe but it's not overly excessive. The game doesn't have voice acting either so unless they are paying close attention your kids won't notice it.

Mad respect to this reviewer. A lot of reviews on this site like Skyrim Anniversary Edition or Civ 6 completely gloss over technical issues that make the game pretty much unplayable. It's a relief to see this person actually played the whole game before reviewing it.

I remember being a kid and being really excited to go to a New Years Eve party because the people hosting it had a Nintendo 64. And then being sorely disappointed because the only games they had for it were Mario Golf and Glover. Idk, to me this game is the epitome of crappy games that non-gaming adults buy for their kids because they don't know better. The people who are nostalgic for this game are probably the kids whose parents didn't get them Ocarina of Time. As Dunkey put it: "...It's Glover."

It was the same crap with Civ 6 on Switch and Book of Unwritten Tales 2 on Wii U. Don't just test it for 5 minutes and then write your review based on the older version you actually played years ago.

Huh, for some reason I thought this was a cloud edition. Fantastic news that it's a real, fully functional version of the game.

Im guessing it was a bug originally, but they liked the way it looked and kept it that way. Probably the same thing can be said for the Mario 64 smoke.

Arc Rise Fantasia for the Wii. It's a perfect combination of a combat system, soundtrack and core gameplay loop that's unironically good, with a story and voice acting that are so bad they are hilarious. I genuinely laughed my ass off so many times at the absurd plot twists and terrible vocal performances, and I was having a good time. It's exactly the right kind of bad, mixed with plenty of good.

They really take issue with their games being even remotely challenging huh
