Re: Review: Worms W.M.D. (Switch eShop)

Used to love an online game called Arcanists that was supposedly a knock off of Worms. I'd really love to give this a go, but I don't have the money or time right now thanks to all the great games recently and the upcoming Xenoblade 2. Might have to wait for a sale.

Ubisoft can't even make [removed] Uno without technical issues. Christ.

On the bright side, at least this game is reasonably priced compared to a similar tabletop classic on the Switch that shall remain unnamed...

Re: Rumour Buster: The Nintendo 64 Classic Mini Game List 'Leak' is a Batch of Old PDF Files

About half of the games on N64 worth playing are made by rare, and with them being owned by Microsoft and unable to re-release their games on a Nintendo system... it's just not going to work. While the SNES Classic is a pretty good aggregation of the best SNES games (minus the bizarre gaping holes of Chrono Trigger and DKC2) the N64 classic would just feel half-baked.

I'd rather they skip straight to a Gamecube Classic or Gameboy Advance Classic if they're going to continue the series, but honestly they probably will just end it with the SNES.

Re: Review: Monopoly for Nintendo Switch (Switch)

HeroponRiki

I love Monopoly, so a faithful recreation without any gimmicks is a plus for me... but its still absurd to expect $40 for this. Even $20 would be pushing it. Apparently there's a physical version of this game thankfully however, and I can see used copies of this plummeting to around $5 within a few months, so I just need to wait I guess.

Re: Monopoly

HeroponRiki

Why is it 40 dollars... and its Ubisoft so there's probably additional paid microtransactions.

I was looking forward to this but not anymore.

@Nintendoforlife @Ultimategamer132 Whoops, my bad. You can hardly blame me for the confusion though, seeing as its a sports game and they have acted very much like EA with their BS.

Re: Preview: Fire Emblem Warriors Could Be The Best Musou Game Yet

HeroponRiki

@Ainze The DLC packs in Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates felt like add-ons that weren't essential for the complete experience. I never bought them but I don't feel as though the main game was hindered for it. In this game however, it honestly seems like you aren't getting the complete experience unless you buy the DLC. It's technically optional, but then you're playing a Fire Emblem crossover with only characters from like, 3 or 4 out of the 15 or so Fire Emblem games.

Re: Preview: Fire Emblem Warriors Could Be The Best Musou Game Yet

HeroponRiki

@Ainze I was fine with Fire Emblem Fates DLC, and most of Nintendo's DLC. My complaint here is that this is a crossover between all the Fire Emblem games, and it's blatantly obvious they held back content from many of those games like the Tellius games to sell it back to you later. They pulled the same stunt with Hyrule Warriors and Wind Waker/Majora's Mask content among other games. It's absurd for basic characters like Toon Link and Young Link to be sold for extra in a game celebrating the Zelda series, just as it's absurd for basic characters like Roy and Ike to cost extra in a game celebrating Fire Emblem. If the DLC packs are anything like Hyrule Warriors, they'll also be pretty light on content for their price. In Fates you pay $20 for an entirely new campaign. In this game you'll get maybe 5 characters and 4-5 maps.

One of the things I love about this site is how generally positive they are compared to others... but this was a case where I was hoping they'd call EA out on their BS with a low score. Between the unreasonably expensive pricing model, the ridiculous data storage requirements and the glitches that made it unplayable for weeks before finally being patched, I don't even care if the game itself is fun. EA can't treat consumers like this.

Re: Nintendo Download: 21st September (North America)

HeroponRiki

Umm... 8 dollars for a port of a very old, bare bones arcade game?

I mean, it's included in Super Mario Bros. 3 which released for 5 dollars on other consoles. Really don't know what they were thinking, I was expecting these arcade ports to be like 2 dollars each.

This is a big game. I never played Bravely Default because I hated the art style but it was a pretty big hit from what I understand, and this is from the same creators. It looks fantastic to me, I love RPGs that give you the freedom to make choices and find your own path.
