I feel like they're saving the full reveal of games like Fire Emblem, Pokemon and Metroid for E3. But I wouldn't be surprised if we still get another direct soon for other games.
Mercenaries Saga is the most average trilogy in existence. No joke, there is absolutely nothing uniquely bad or good about them. If you like tactical RPGs like I do there's some fun to be had, but I mean wow. I'm struggling to say anything about it other than "it's a tactical RPG."
The problem with this series is that once you make a game where you can create just about anything, there isn't really anywhere to go from there. Nobody was going to bother with "Now you can create anything, and also DC characters!"
Used to love an online game called Arcanists that was supposedly a knock off of Worms. I'd really love to give this a go, but I don't have the money or time right now thanks to all the great games recently and the upcoming Xenoblade 2. Might have to wait for a sale.
About half of the games on N64 worth playing are made by rare, and with them being owned by Microsoft and unable to re-release their games on a Nintendo system... it's just not going to work. While the SNES Classic is a pretty good aggregation of the best SNES games (minus the bizarre gaping holes of Chrono Trigger and DKC2) the N64 classic would just feel half-baked.
I'd rather they skip straight to a Gamecube Classic or Gameboy Advance Classic if they're going to continue the series, but honestly they probably will just end it with the SNES.
I love Monopoly, so a faithful recreation without any gimmicks is a plus for me... but its still absurd to expect $40 for this. Even $20 would be pushing it. Apparently there's a physical version of this game thankfully however, and I can see used copies of this plummeting to around $5 within a few months, so I just need to wait I guess.
The worst part is when people don't buy this game because of this BS, publishers will blame it on "third parties just don't sell on Nintendo consoles."
I REALLY hope this sale comes to North America, because Fatal Frame has literally never been discounted before. I know because I've been waiting for a discount since it's release.
Serves them right for trying to rip people off with DLC. I would have happily bought this game if it actually had content from all the Fire Emblem games included in the price.
@Nintendoforlife @Ultimategamer132 Whoops, my bad. You can hardly blame me for the confusion though, seeing as its a sports game and they have acted very much like EA with their BS.
@Ainze The DLC packs in Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates felt like add-ons that weren't essential for the complete experience. I never bought them but I don't feel as though the main game was hindered for it. In this game however, it honestly seems like you aren't getting the complete experience unless you buy the DLC. It's technically optional, but then you're playing a Fire Emblem crossover with only characters from like, 3 or 4 out of the 15 or so Fire Emblem games.
@Ainze I was fine with Fire Emblem Fates DLC, and most of Nintendo's DLC. My complaint here is that this is a crossover between all the Fire Emblem games, and it's blatantly obvious they held back content from many of those games like the Tellius games to sell it back to you later. They pulled the same stunt with Hyrule Warriors and Wind Waker/Majora's Mask content among other games. It's absurd for basic characters like Toon Link and Young Link to be sold for extra in a game celebrating the Zelda series, just as it's absurd for basic characters like Roy and Ike to cost extra in a game celebrating Fire Emblem. If the DLC packs are anything like Hyrule Warriors, they'll also be pretty light on content for their price. In Fates you pay $20 for an entirely new campaign. In this game you'll get maybe 5 characters and 4-5 maps.
One of the things I love about this site is how generally positive they are compared to others... but this was a case where I was hoping they'd call EA out on their BS with a low score. Between the unreasonably expensive pricing model, the ridiculous data storage requirements and the glitches that made it unplayable for weeks before finally being patched, I don't even care if the game itself is fun. EA can't treat consumers like this.
A shame about the downright predatory pricing model. It's a full priced game with very expensive DLC packs to get content that should have been in from the start.
I really liked Steamworld Heist but never tried the Steamworld dig games. Might give them a whirl next time they're on sale, but I'm weary about buying new games now since I know the SNES Classic, Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2 will be holding my attention for the foreseeable future.
Umm... 8 dollars for a port of a very old, bare bones arcade game?
I mean, it's included in Super Mario Bros. 3 which released for 5 dollars on other consoles. Really don't know what they were thinking, I was expecting these arcade ports to be like 2 dollars each.
I don't understand why anyone would go through the effort of selling accessories for the SNES classic. There's like, 20 of them. Even if you manage to sell one to half the install base that's only 10 sold. xD
@SLIGEACH_EIRE This is a big game. I never played Bravely Default because I hated the art style but it was a pretty big hit from what I understand, and this is from the same creators. It looks fantastic to me, I love RPGs that give you the freedom to make choices and find your own path.
High price for an unknown indie game, dying system, little marketing and the title quite frankly is unappealing and makes it sound like a flappy bird knock off.
This was dead from the start regardless of the game's quality to be honest.
It's pretty obvious they're planning to sell the other game characters as DLC like they did with Hyrule Warriors. It's a scam and Warriors games aren't that great anyway. Don't fall for it.

Re: Oh...Sir! The Insult Simulator
Doesn't have any longevity but it's good for a few hours of laughs, which is all that I ask of a $1.99 game.

Japan is never going to live down Senran Kagura outselling Sonic Mania.

Oh man, this might get crazy with all the out of bounds glitches and places you can only reach with crazy trick jumps.
Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze And Hyrule Warriors Are Coming To Switch
Kind of mad that I burned all that money on the Hyrule Warriors DLC and its now coming out at a presumably more reasonable price. >_<
Oh well, I guess now I know not to play Fire Emblem Warriors until its definitive edition comes out.

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th December (North America)
Why did I even click on this article when I know I'll be too busy with Xenoblade 2, Skyrim and Zelda/Splatoon DLC to buy any of this
Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Champions' Ballad DLC Goes Live 'Tonight'
Kind of unclear on if this is a separate adventure with its own file or if its implemented into the main game as a quest like The Trial of the Sword.
Re: Legrand Legacy Is Bringing Classic JRPG Action To Switch In Early 2019
The art is a bit too brown for me, but it looks like a quality game nonetheless.

Re: Rumour: Leaked EA Email Apparently Confirms January Nintendo Direct
Seems plausible, since very little has been announced for Nintendo's 2018 release schedule. I was expecting one soon.
Re: Feature: Yooka-Laylee Jumps Onto Switch in December - We Learn All About It
I think most Switch players are a bit burned out on platformers from spending dozens of hours on Super Mario Odyssey.

I don't have a microSD card and that storage requirement is absurd, so its a no go for me.

Re: Review: UNO (Switch eShop)
Ubisoft can't even make [removed] Uno without technical issues. Christ.
On the bright side, at least this game is reasonably priced compared to a similar tabletop classic on the Switch that shall remain unnamed...

$40 for Monopoly and it isn't even very functional. How do you mess something this easy up.

I was looking forward to this but not anymore.

This sounds really fascinating to me actually. Might give it a go, although it still seems more like a "when it's on sale" game then a day one buy.
Re: Super Mario Odyssey Is The Best Rated Game Of All Time
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I don't see why, considering Galaxy never did.
Re: Nintendo of America Adds Some Halloween-Themed Switch eShop Discounts
Of COURSE they didn't discount Fatal Frame like the European sale...
I JUST WANT TO PLAY IT FOR A REASONABLE PRICE WHY YOU DO THIS.

Withheld content, and overpriced at that. Glad I didn't buy this game, but it was kind of obvious they would do this from the outset.
Re: The Flame in the Flood Has "Smashed" Its Launch Targets on the Switch eShop
