@Charlie_Girl To be fair, things like walk-off blast zones and overly large, circular stages are bad for competitive play. We really should be playing on at least like 20 of them though. >_<
@FragRed I think the reason EA scores fine with reviewers is that reviewers get everything for free, while the average player has to spend like 900 bucks to unlock everything.
I thought the whole point of humble store was that they sold games at reduced prices, but that doesn't seem to be the case for Nintendo. Seems rather pointless- if anything I think some of these games are discounted on the actual eshop but full price on this site.
I gotta say it's refreshing to see a developer that's blunt and honest about these kinds of questions. Too many developers get asked basic questions like "will this be on 3DS?" and say stuff like "we're always looking at potential opportunities for future projects" instead of yes or no.
Goat Simulator, I want to like you, I really do. But you can't make a game that's intentionally bad and then release it at a $30 price tag. It's a funny novelty parody game, I mean get over yourselves.
I like how you spent the first few minutes proving you were playing blindfolded, as if anyone was going to see that gameplay and think "yeah, he's way too good this can't be real."
@dkxcalibur Funny, I'm in the opposite boat. I love point and click games, but the art style is a turn-off for me. I get what they were going for, but it's so... brown.
My first impression on reading this was "oh that's great! Anything that makes it easier to make games for the Switch is good." Then I checked the wikipedia article and saw "To date, Frostbite has been exclusive to video games published by Electronic Arts." So, never mind.
I just noticed this, but its an absolute travesty that Xenoblade X wasn't mentioned in the Wii U exclusives despite never being ported and thus being the #1 reason to still have a Wii U.
Before reading this list, I made my own list to see how they would match up, and surprisingly mine was almost exactly the same, with the only differences being that the Wii and N64 are swapped. I think the N64, despite having some masterpieces under its belt, also represents the point where third parties abandoned ship. It has a small library compared to most of the other consoles and only has maybe 5 or 6 good third party games. The Wii meanwhile I think gets more flak than it deserves. It's library was larger than people give it credit for and it had its own masterpieces in Mario Galaxy, Xenoblade and Metroid Prime Trilogy.
They're labbing out the changes on Smashboards right now. It seems to mostly be bug fixes rather than balance changes in this patch, which is welcome since frankly its too early to know which characters need nerfs and buffs.
The fact that two high level players have completely different tier lists (Simon and Richter being the only characters they both agree are top tier, and just look at how far apart they placed Link and Olimar for instance) is a very good sign for this game's balance.
I'm fine with them making motion controls optional, just so I can watch people struggle with awkward analog sword controls while I hack and slash my way through the game with ease.
I don't think people should be freaking out about a lack of unlockables, considering there are PLENTY of unlockable spirits that you can likely spend dozens or even hundreds of hours collecting. Also, it seems like you still have to unlock the characters one at a time in World of Light separately from the main game.
I played Mercenaries Saga trilogy and didn't regret it, but it's hard to argue that these games are anything but average. It's exactly what you'd expect from a strategy game, nothing more, nothing less.
I would love to see Smash Ultimate become the best selling game on the console. I mean it's such a jam packed game that you'd be crazy to own a Switch and NOT get it.
Don't get Book of Unwritten Tales 2. The Wii U version had a game breaking bug that was unavoidable and never patched which made it impossible to save after a certain point early in the game. It was basically unplayable because of it and I have no idea why Nintendolife's review didn't mention it unless they played the whole game in one 15 hour binge or something.
That's absurd that Just Dance of all games requires a yearly subscription. It's not a damn mmo, it's more of a game you put in during a party every so often.
Trine 1 & 2 were awesome, hopefully they go back to the 2D gameplay that worked so well in those as opposed to the 3D gameplay of Trine 3. And also make sure the story comes to a proper conclusion instead of being clearly unfinished like that game.
But I'm optimistic, they say they learned from their mistakes and the first two games showed they are capable of making a great game, so I think this will be a nice return to form.

I'm kind of irked that they aren't showing the full games list for this though, because that's going to be the deciding factor on whether I get this or not. If it has Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX plus Xenogears, that alone is worth the price for me.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want From A Switch Mini?
Honestly the vanilla Switch is already such a perfect console for both TV and portable play that I don't see myself wanting a replacement.
Re: Spoiler Alert Is Like A Reverse Version Of Super Mario Bros. Due Out On February 1st
This looks like a flash game, and not a good one.
Re: Game Developer Survey Shows That Nearly Half Of Devs Are Most Interested In The Switch
@KIRO I assume that represents the developers who keep running into bugs and coding issues thinking "screw it! We're making a board game!"

Re: Review: Sphinx And The Cursed Mummy - A Bit Musty Due To Age, But Still Worth A Look
It's gonna have a bit of trouble competing with a certain other Action Adventure game that also comes out tomorrow.

Re: Legendary Has Already Begun Work On A Detective Pikachu Sequel
So basically confirmation that the movie will be just like the game and not wrap up the story. >_<

Not a big fan of the art style. I mean, were they out of crayons at the office or something?
Re: Shiver Entertainment Is Developing The Switch Version Of Mortal Kombat 11
Calm down guys. Scribblenauts Showdown was bad, but it didn't run bad. Porting a game is not the same as developing it.
Re: Rumour: SNES Games Might Be Coming To Switch Sooner Than You Think
This looks great, but also makes me feel like a bit of a chump for having just bought a SNES Classic.
Re: Video: Here's What Happens When Peachette Saves Peach In New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Inaccurate. You can't shield bash in mid-air. Complete joke.

Re: Random: 87-Year-Old Grandma Clocks In A Whopping 3,580 Hours On Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Re: Review: Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! - The Perfect Entry Point For Newcomers, A Nostalgia Trip For Veterans
It just seems... so easy and shallow. In a game series that has already been notoriously easy for the past few entries.
Pokemon on the overworld is actually an excellent change, if only they didn't butcher the combat system in the process.
