@BinaryMessiah the Wii definitely did have detracters complaining about it being SD instead of HD lol. But I'm fine with underpowered hardware as long as the game is great as a retro gamer myself.
@Fiq_Strife you would need to be quite a bit more powerful than the Switch to have the head room to emulate it well. Only the very top of the line android devices would likely be able to emulate Switch even half-decently. Emulation always requires a quite a bit more compute power than actual native ports.
@Zulzar bruh Dragon Warrior 1 is still not even an expensive game. I think this is dumb and feels hoardy, but it is clearly not an attempt to make a profit. They would not do it with such a common NES game if they actually wanted to restrain the supply.
@victordamazio As I stated right after that, physical copies are not limited. Stock is likely poor due to this being a strange physical release for Nintendo with the digital shadow drop. They will obviously re-stock the game and eventually everybody will forget this ever happened lmao.
@victordamazio It's not artifical scarity tho lmao. It's digitally available and Nintendo is going to restock this game in like a couple of weeks probably. 3d all Stars is an example of artifical scarity as it was annouced from the start that it would be unavailable March 31st.
I like how they put the effort in to recreate the U.S box art for the U.S release and the japanese for tje JPN release. For Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe and Skyward Sword HD for example they just used the og JPN box art worldwide
I do kinda wonder how some have consistent problems with Joy Con (and other controllers like DualSense) drift while others like me have no issues at all. What is the cause of Analog stick drift?
Not useless but a lot of ppl don't know, you can actually kill the Angry Sun in SMB3 by throwing a koopa shell at it. You can also kill it with the Hammer Bros Suit I believe, but you can get nearly anything with that. You can also can grab a shell in Sm64 to swim faster in Dire Dire Docks and Jolly Roger Bay. Mario galaxy actually didn't introduce that.
@Ralizah as someone's whose played most of the mainline Pokemon including S/V, none of them have it anywhere near this bad. Sure X and Y was pretty bad if you had 3d on I guess, but that's an easy user fix lol. Scarlet and Violet legit perform like an n64 game and look quite bad on top of that.
@RupeeClock it leaked out there, so we can see footage of the Switch version. It seems Sega only sent review codes for the ps5 version for the most part for some reason.
@Truegamer79 framerate is actually very important in a platforming game. That's why almost every Super Mario game runs at 60 besides 64 and Sunshine, which are earlier 3d games so they get a pass. Trust me if Mario World somehow ran at 30 fps you would notice. But yeah I agree it doesn't matter in an rpg too much.
@BloodNinja the news media? Dude I sent you a video recorded directly from the console, not just an article.. Should I trust a video or your recollection from years ago back when 360 and ps3 really struggled to run anything. You're one of those people who thinks Facebook is a more reliable source of news than media aren't you? Oh then why do you care about the shops shutting down if you don't even own the consoles?
@BloodNinja or you could just softmod the consoles too. From what I hear it's relatively easy to do and it gives you the original experience. This applies to all consoles with some kind of shop so, 3ds, DSi, Wii, Wii U.
@BloodNinja Do you remember how bad Skyrim performed on ps3? Switch does 900p docked, fairly consistent 30 fps according to Digital Foundry. https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-2017-skyrim-switch-vs-playstation-4 Skyrim on Ps3 is 720p docked with bad anti-aliasing, making for a worse picture than a sharp 720p and truly abymasal framerate. Here's a framerate test for Skyrim on ps3: https://youtu.be/QuOBSSabBU0
@Poodlestargenerica every game I can think of on both Switch and Ps3 runs better on Switch tho. The complex cell hardware might give ps3 some small advantages on paper, but the Switch is more powerful in practice.
@Ravenmaster I think the "Switch Pro" (basically a new 3ds/ps4 pro/Xbox One X style upgrade) isn't real at this point, but obviously a Switch successor is coming. Nintendo is not going to stop making consoles lol
@Poodlestargenerica The switch is already more powerful than a ps3? Also I think in a couple years they definitely would have a device on the level of the ps4 with the same size as the current Switch.
You can still have fun with these games without it, but they're kinda missing the point without Game Boy cartridge comptability. These were always designed to be companion game to Pokemon R/B/Y/G/S/C.
This is just embarassing lol. This game is already severely lacking content and was pushed as an update focused game. Now it's taking almost a year for the first major update to come out. Imagine if this had been launched as a complete game like Wii Sports Resort? 🤔
@CharlieGirl It's only BC with 63 OG Xbox games and they aren't adding anymore. In comparsion, there are 93 NES games on NSO, 72 SNES games on NSO and 20 N64 games on NSO. Nintendo is not perfect, but at least they didn't cut it off altogether for no good reason. Microsoft deserves more criticism for such a weak og Xbox BC imo. 360 is great tho.
I think remasters and remakes can be great even besides just having a game on a new console. QoL tweaks can help a game play a lot better and new graphics alongside it being a new big release can help expose the game to a lot more people than backwards compatability would. But yeah ideally Nintendo would have a much better system for old content as people have been saying for like a decade. Not every game will get a remaster or remake so there needs to be a better system.
@alexybubble I mean I respect your opinion, but I definitely disagree. They don't "respect" the creation, they just want to milk it for my money. Imo fangames should be legal as long as they're free and not profiting off the work.
@alexybubble How are you ok with this company profitting from stolen ip off a s***y mobile game? It's so lazy. Fangames are ok bc they're passion projects, they're not trying to steal from Nintendo. But this?? This is just lazy garbage
@Maulbert The genesis mini was a great product and better than any of Nintendo's mini consoles as someone who likes Nintendo more. Sega has put out some great products
@iLikeUrAttitude Haven't played Monster Hunter, but SMT V, while good, doesn't scratch the Pokemon itch whatsoever. The demon designs aren't meant to be appealing in the same way and they're meant to be disposable. It also doesn't have the same sense of wonder and adventure that the (good) pokemon games have. I love other JRPGs but they don't scratch the same itch that Pokemon does for me.
@Crockin That would be fine, but if they don't any big new innovations they should at least wait till the next console. A big in house Nintendo series getting more than one game on the same console is not something that happens super often and that opportunity feels wasted here even if it will be a good game.
@moodycat ? Mario and Zelda change pretty drasticlly from entry to entry aside from a few expections like NSMB or whatever. In fact I feel like Odyssey and BotW kinda set the expectation that the Switch was going to revolutionize more series but it didn't end up happening that much to other franchises.
@rockodoodle Yea idk that. Nintendo's in house input has been rather quiet as of late. Their last major in house release was New Horizons I think? Switch Sports was also in house somehow lmao
@rockodoodle my point still stands that Hal Labortory would never make a new Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, F Zero, Kid Icarus, (Insert whatever other Nintendo IP you wanna see back here). I want a lot of IPs back too but Kirby isn't taking away from that.

@Snatcher Remember they were given away for free with a lot of Nintendo power subs. So its a really common game.

@Qwertyninty yeah I could see preferring the art style of the original tbh, but its just nice to see they clearly put a lot of effort in it

Seems more like a remake than a remaster to me
