Re: Nintendo Predicted To Become "Primary Partner For Third-Party Game Publishers"

HammerKirby

@Skunkfish I do feel like some aspects may annoy casual gamers who buy physical sometimes, but I don't think its the whole preservation aspect (aka being able to play your own games decades down the line) thing that will bother them. But having these games eat up your storage and also not being able to install a game in situations where you may not be connected to the internet (it is a handheld after all) may annoy some.

Re: Opinion: Steam Deck Fans Are Seriously Underestimating The Switch 2

@WheresWaveRace True! Man that was such a funky situation with GC in Europe. I think Nintendo didn't want to have to program in both progressive scan and 60 hz options in their games lol. Fire Emblem Warriors is the first Nintendo published game to really be worded in that way of Performance Vs. Graphics (or at least similar to that).

@Lizuka Its happening to Switch 2 games that are fully on the cart for the original Switch lmao (No Sleep For Kaname Date). At least most Switch games that did it were SOMEWHAT understandable with bigger file sizes (or earlier on some dual pack games since they didn't have the option for two files on the cart). But when a game like Survival Kids does it that is 4 gb even in Japan where that stuff is less common, I seriously raise an eyebrow.

@Ogbert having A version of the game on the cart is WAY better than nothing on the cart. In fact for certain audiences like speedrunners, physical copies can actually help perserve older versions of games. Patches I'm accepting of because of the bigger nature of a lot of games. Plus I'm not gonna complain about smaller bug fixes that in the olden days would've either remained unfixed or just been fixed in a later reprint of the game (which still happens btw! Nintendo especially will include software updates on the cart in later prints!!!).

Re: Nintendo's Switch 2 'Game-Key Cards' Somehow Manage To Make Codes-In-A-Box Worse

@Astropez thats not an actual lie. Check out https://www.doesitplay.org/. Out of the 490 ps5 games tested, 70% work without a download and no caveats. Another 16% work without downloads but are buggy or are missing small portions of the game like a character in a fighting game or something like that. I'd definitely say that constitutes a majority. And I've several of my ps5 games myself downloading them offline and they work just fine. Switch DOES have better statistics though with 542 games tested and 81% working great offline and 11% working with caveats.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

I think the Physical vs Digital price variation may just be Europe thing to counteract all of those physical game deals you can always get in Europe? On the site for Mario Kart World it justs says the price is $80 and don't you think they'd want to advertise it if it was cheaper digitally? Anyway $80 for a game is a yikes either way. But it's strange DK is cheaper when that game is clearly just as high budget as MKW???
