Re: Square Enix Rules Out Switch 2 "Upgrade Path" For Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake

HammerKirby

@electrolite77 Ironically the Key Cards are the reason stuff like this happens. Only standard way for an upgrade path on Switch 2 is a Switch 2 Edition which cannot be a key card as they can't work on Switch 1. Some games use a workaround to get around this process like Hogwarts or Deltarune, but that enables essentially being able to share a discount around with a Switch 1 physical copy if they let it work with physical games.

Re: Dbrand Admits Its Joy-Con Detachment Response Was "Spectacularly Terrible"

@axelhander yea of course. I do feel like the issue has lessened over time though. I feel like they might've fixed the issue with Switch 2 at least to a degree. I know people like iFixIt say that any analog stick using that type of technology is vulnerable to it, but Gamecube, Wii nunchucks/classic controller, Wii U gamepad/pro controller and even the Switch Pro Controller use that similar tech and seem to be just fine for the most part. So I'm guessing the Switch 1 Joy Con stick was just a bad part that was more vulnerable to stick drift.

Re: Sega Knows You Hate Mario Kart's Blue Shells

Reading what Iizuka said, I feel like you all are really playing this up to get clicks lmao. If anything something like the Bullet Bill, Golden Shroom or Lightning help a back of the pack racer catch up a LOT more than a blue shell does. This seems like a massive stretch to me.

Re: Forget Switch 2 Game Key-Cards - "Full On-The-Cart Physical Releases" Are What People Want, Says Publisher Lost In Cult

HammerKirby

@Sambuc Nintendo themselves have NEVER released a game that requires a patch in order to be played. And they almost always come out with revisions of their physical games later that have the patches on the cart. And yes I hate the Switch games that required online downloads to be played as well and never bought any of them. There was outrage for those games as well, but it wasn't on the scale of this, so the outrage was smaller scale to match.

Re: Review: RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army (Switch 2) - A Unique, Action-RPG Take On The SMT Formula

HammerKirby

@Oubie No. Sega seems to be avoiding that in favor of (?) putting out Key Cards. I dunno this whole situation is pretty strange, but it seems like Switch 2 Editions and Key Cards don't mix and the only other way to have an upgrade path is a weird workaround like Hogwarts or Deltarune. Sonic Racing Crossworlds will have an upgrade path tho as it is a a Switch 2 Edition title

It seems like if you buy the Switch 1 vers and play on Switch 2 it will run nearly identical to the Switch 2 vers since its 1080p uncapped. Well as a collector that's what I'll be doing since Switch gets an actual physical. Strange Switch 2 doesn't at least target 1440p tho Handheld mode is a bit of a downgrade at 720p, but hey it'll likely have better battery life at least. 🤷‍♂️

Re: It's Official, Switch 2 Has Sold Over 3.5 Million Units Globally In Its First Four Days

HammerKirby

@Yoshi3 I do know that, but its usually assumed by default as USD unless otherwise specified. I may have overreacted somewhat tho. I'm just really tired of seeing misinformation spread. I'm sorry. Anyway, why do you have the US marked as the location on your profile if that's not actually where you live??? (I actually checked before I made my initial comment which is why I thought you were from the US)
