@Kiyata Modern Pokemon is not using genAI as far as I'm aware. Pokemon's problems are more the corporate time tables. They have plenty of creative character designs and Pokemon designs and whatnot
For once can people please act normal about Digital Foundry? I think their analysis is interesting. And them being nitpicky is the entire point. Its not an attack on Nintendo or whatever. And if its not your thing, thats cool.
@Yoshi3 I think the simple answer to your comment is that the developers never intended you to to 100% complete. The amount of repetition is there so no matter direction you go in, there's stuff to do. I could see why this would be bothersome for a completionist though. I believe Mario Odyssey was designed in a similar way (to a somewhat lesser extent). I 100% completed it and yea its kind of a drag.
@Yoshi3 That's an interesting perspective. Personally I view something like BotW as the antithesis to gaming as a work. It's a pure zen experience without much extrinsic motivation like icons all over the map or whatever to make you feel like you are progressing.
@kmtrain83 having the game on the disc is way better for the long term than having the game tied to the internet. I can still play my NES, SNES, N64, etc games. Also Micro Sd Express cards are WAY more expensive than ssds atm. And third party games (yk the ones that use key cards) don't seem to be much smaller than their ps5 counterparts so far.
@Sindayl Shadow Gens was 30 fps only on ps4 and had the performance mode for 60 fps on Switch 2. Now it looks like a blurry YouTube video when you're moving, but it is worth it for the 60 fps lol
Galaxy has more a more refined and polished version of sm64 controls? Yea I guess if SM64 had no flow or momentum whatsoever and if it had end lag on the long jump.
@electrolite77 did you ignore the part where I said a Switch 2 card is a lot faster than a HDD? I bet the PC version plays just fine with a 400 mb/s speed. The developers wouldn't have even tested it likely considering the file size of the game wouldn't even fit on a Switch 2 card. This just feels like an off the cuff comment to me. The PC version probably isn't optimized with an HDD in mind. I mean at worst just falling back on the ps4 lightning and having the Intergrade lightning be like a patch or something would be fine if they needed to.
@electrolite77 every modern pc game is "ssd reccomended" but FF7R plays just fine off a hard drive. Not to mention a standard SSD IS actually fairly comparable to a Switch 2 cart in speed. A SATA SSD is around 500 mb/s read speed while a Switch 2 cart is 400 mb/s. Ps4 hard drive is around 80 mb/s. The new lightning isn't gonna require a much faster read speed (if at all) compared to ps4 lol
@electrolite77 its not different enough from the original release to need the higher read speed lmao. The PC release can also run off a hard drive. If you wanna get pedantic, the Cyberpunk DLC never released on ps4 so how did they get THAT running on a game card?
Man this sucks. Nintendo's customer service was always great for me as someone who has used the US one on numerous occasions. Now they're going to have the same foreign customer service thats nearly impossible to communicate with that other companies do.
@AussieMcBucket I'm saying thats why publishers use key cards and not regular game cards. All the stuff you said applies to both key card and game cards.
@AussieMcBucket its mostly just the costs of the cartridges cutting into the margins. Which is why Switch 1 and ps5 still have truly physical options for most Switch 2 key cards. I mean I hate Key Cards, but even I think some of the outrage is a bit much.
@AussieMcBucket different groups of people exist you know. And even then, at least digital has the convenience factor unlike key cards. Also people are probably more willing to buy a digital game like that for cheap. I am personally waiting for a physical for Silksong, but I will occasionally buy digital if theres a really good sale. But Key Cards aren't gonna win digital people over obviously and physical people don't like them so 🤷♂️ I do understand why they exist, but this Capcom guy sure isn't helping people understand why they exist.
I don't say this lightly, but these are some corporate bootlicker type arguments. Like how is it good for the consumer to rebuy stuff because you lost access to the stuff you bought? 🤦♂️
@SalvorHardin have you only played the all stars version? In the original NES version you have to start the whole game all over unless you use the continue code.
@The_Nintendo_Pedant I've been guilty of that mindset in the past. And after playing games like Classic Castlevania, RE, Tomb Raider, etc. I've changed my mind on the whole thing. Learning the controls can absolutely be part of the fun of a game.
@Mgalens yea a shame that some dismiss them bc they try to play them like a Mario game. Having such a unique take on a common genre like platformers is part of what made gaming in the 90s so great.
@Jack_Goetz Metroid Prime 4 was revealed in 2017 actually (why on earth would they have revealed it before the Switch was even revealed?). Mario Kart World was quite fun to me and a lot of other people. Am I not a true fan because of that??? Nintendo console hardware has been underpowered since 2006 (debatably 2004) and that whole thing was reallt started by Iwata actually. Its not like the Wii and Wii U were super cheap either, especically the Wii U (I do like these consoles though). The Switch 2 at least has the excuse of being a portable device. You're allowed to have your own opinion, but you clearly don't have much perspective. Too trapped in your own outrage and disdain to see outside of that.

@NintendoWife the first half is actually generally much better than the second half of the game
Re: Mario Tennis Fever Officially Reveals amiibo Functionality And Every amiibo Supported
@Anti-Matter they should work. In most games outside of Odyssey, they tend to work as a standard Mario, Peach and Bowser amiibo.

Re4 has a lot of issues in mercernaries for some reason. Main campaign and Seperate Ways play just fine tho

@Jarodlaraus no they don't. Most games on ps5 come on the disc and install to the SSD. There are some exceptions but most games are on disc

@anoyonmus would that not result in frame pacing issues for a console without VRR and 120 hz?

@anoyonmus yea thats the vibe I get. It looks above 30 to me, but not quite 60.
