Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero Is 10 Years Old - Have You Actually Played It?

GinMiguel

I haven't. But I'd like to. I wrote it off at the time, 5 years after 64 3d with nothing in between, they reimagine Lylat Wars yet again to tech demo the Wii U 4 years too late? While implimentsing both the SF1 and 2 aspects. It was just wrong time. It was what Star Fox Zero represented that turned me off. Using Star Fox 64 as a crutch to sell hardware gimmicks. A practice I was fine with the 3ds doing because it had been a long time, and the series had stuff going on in the 2000s, and the 3ds gimmicks were mandatory.

Re: Talking Point: What Would You Want From A New Star Fox Game?

GinMiguel

@AstroTheGamosian Never know. I will say, I like Krystals odds the most, Miyu and Fay, a little bit less but still could. Don't know about Amanda or Lucy. And Fara being a comic book character, they don't really get game treatment. But with Pauline and Dixie being in the Donkey Kong push. Peach and Zelda being leads, Xenoblade X DE and Rosalina in the new Mario Wonder content. There maybe hope for the women of this series yet.

Re: Talking Point: What Would You Want From A New Star Fox Game?

GinMiguel

@AstroTheGamosian Then maybe have writers who will treat the characters with respect. Panther doesn't have to flirt with Krystal nor does she need to be pretty much a Damsel in Distress like in Adventures and can still be pro active member like Assault. Its execution. I feel Krystal has the strongest chance, especially with Nintendo pushing their other series female representation. Peach and Zelda being starring leads, putting Rosalina in Mario Wonder, Dixie and Pauline in the latest Donkey Kong push. a chance, if this new Star Fox game isn't another take on Lylat Wars. Don't know about Lucy and Amanda. Kind of a stretch to bring Fara from an over 30 year old obscure comic book back.

Regarding content
Not another retelling of 64, they've done that in the 2010s and lose.
Bring non 64 characters back and upping the cinematics
Maybe the robust online, and soundtrack callibur of assult.
If it is a new classic on rails shooter, I want some modernization.
Real Time strategy or on foot which is what I said about Assault and 2.
Letting us play as other pilots and the unique planes like command.

Star Fox 2 and Assault felt lik like neet little places to take the series. I haven’t played Starlink but open galaxy might be the injection. Making Star Fox 64 2 just doesn’t seem viable enough in 2026. Rail Shooters like Wild Blue Skirs, Fur Squadron and Zodiac thrive as INDIES. But a home console experience now. They can’t rely on the same old ideas of 1997. At least not as the back bone

Re: Rumour: Nintendo's 2026 Plans Include New Star Fox & Zelda Remake, No 3D Mario

GinMiguel

Excited and anxious about both of these if real.
Ocarina of Time: a glorified 3d situation where its just prettier and snappier. Or a full on reimagining a la FF7 where the approach is just more more more. Making the world bigger when its size was never the problem, or more dungeons where there were already a good amount, and had good pacing and synergy to the flow. Though I do see animations and cinematics and deeper story being a good thing.

Star Fox. A brand new game. Nate said classic, but that could entail multiple things. I know he could be talking about the 90s style of game play that is onrail of SNES and 64, but I wonder if thats low key a monkeys paw situation like it seems that way but there are twists like Assault and Command. The latter I've never played. I think new means no reimage of 64 again, thankfully as they've done that already and it never wins.

Re: Fox McCloud Blasts Into The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

GinMiguel

The movie critic in me doesn't really like Mario movies being a shared nintendo universe beyond DK, Wario and Yoshi, leading to a Avengers/Justice League esk Smash Brothers movie. But the Star Fox fan in me is just glad the Pilots are getting acknowledged, and hope full that more will be done with them on this movies .success

Re: Poll: What Do You Make Of Link And Zelda's Live-Action Looks?

GinMiguel

I'm feeling the look for them both. Link and Zelda, having his green and her blue make a good compromise for both sides of the fan base. I kind of thought Bens dark brunette hair would've worked but he looks good in dyed or wig blonde hair. There keeping Zelda brunette though. They were both spicy and mild at the same time.

Re: Nintendo Is Preparing For Even More Movies In The Future, Unsurprisingly

GinMiguel

As expected. Before skeptics talk about how bad an idea it is. You need to understand something. Nintendo's IP are part of pop culture now and have been for a long time. Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Pokemon, and several others. They aren't just children's play things anymore. And as pop culture, them entering into other mediums is part of the deal and tapping into that potential. It was clear when Miyamoto gave Mario another chance after Mario 93 which put them cinema for decades.

Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Team Open To More DLC: "Tell Us What You Want"

GinMiguel

Maybe a mode outside of racing. Maybe a more arena based mode like MKW free roam and Kirby Air's City Trial. I'm hoping for rather than another paid wave of non gaming mascots, it ought to be free Sonic characters like Tikal, Infinite, Gmeral, Ariem from Dream Team, Marine from Rush Adventure or Sticks. Classic cast and Comic books are fine but the more obscure cast should by priority 1.
It feels like a half of the game are Sonic characters and the other half being some crossovers. The Sega stuff was a long time coming and I'll extend grace to Megaman and Pacman. I'll even extend to SpongeBob and the Ninja Turtles. But not so much Avatar.

Re: Sonic Team's Boss Wants To Put More Sonic Characters In The Spotlight

GinMiguel

Oh how far we've come from Sonics sh**y friends era. I remember a time when everyone after 06 that all the extra's were considered a blight on the series, Tails and maybe Knuckles being the exceptions. Never mind that getting rid of them made the series devoid of personality and devolved as a series. Never mind that Advanced and Rush and now Frontiers showed how Sonic's friends can lead to replayability on top of being fun to play. Now people have preferences for more Sonic characters than crossover characters in Crossworlds. We look forward to the movies adding more as we go forward.

I mean If the next Luigi, DK, Yoshi, Peach games sucked, would people say they shouldn't have games made anymore and blame the characters they did like Sonics group?

Re: Nintendo Of America President Doug Bowser Announces Retirement

GinMiguel

Glad we're moving on. When I first saw him in the 2019 direct, doing that whole joke on Bowser I thought it was a good sign of things to come. But he lacks the charisma of his predecessor. Never outreaches and only around to accept game of the year trophies. Nintendo of America has lost that spark without Reggie and Bill. Here's hoping she can bring half of what they brought.

People who think this means the money and finance issue like pricing the products are going to be fixed are kidding themselves. Thats a broken economy and todays finances. Only a little of it being mitigated is the best I can hope for.
