Re: Poll: Do You Prefer Zelda: Wind Waker HD's Bloom Lighting Or The "Flat" OG?

GinMiguel

While I've only played Wind Waker gamecube. Never owning a Wii U. I do like the bloom lighting the HD version. Something about it feels like a painting come to life, even if they might've over done it at times like the shadows on Links face where there has no reason to be or how claymated the character models look next to fire. Still, like it better.

Re: New Interview With Zelda Boss Suggests There Are No Plans For TOTK DLC

GinMiguel

Rats, I was hoping at least for quality of life improvements like a map tracker, showing where I've been on the map. Or a master mode and trials quest. Maybe an arena to compete with other players. But oh well. Although not too surprised considering this game was going to be DLC originally and fleshed out as its own game because of the too many ideas.

Re: Random: Fan-Made 'The Legend Of Zelda' Movie Trailer Shows What Will Never Be

@Lizuka I don't know about being more real? But regarding no possibility of being good, Didn't stop Detective Pikachu, Mario and Sonic films creation. The quality of the stories the games have wouldn't matter if its an original plot that has no relation to the games. As for the Zelda working well for what it is. Its multiple things already. The manga series, a concert, fan animations and for the time even the cartoon weren't protested. Why is a movie where the line is drawn?

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's Game Boy Color Library With Two Zelda Classics

GinMiguel

I'm looking forward to play these games and I'll get to them after I'm done with ToTK. They're the last single player mainline games I have yet to sink my teeth into. I know folks wanted them remade but I wanted to play them in sprite form and we're due for an original 2d Zelda experience maybe from Grezzo. akin to Metroid Dread and Mario Wonder.

I wonder if this is what Jeff Grub was talking when he heard that more Zelda content was coming in the year.

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW

GinMiguel

I get having more going on can be overwhelming. That being said, all the busy work and the expanding of Hyrule on top of the new ways to traverse. All that is saving this game from being written off as glorified DLC it was conceptually or just rehashing and riding Breath of the Wilds coat tails. Any attempt at Tears of the Kingdom being unique as far as the world was concerned was a risk of going its own route. Much like Majora's Mask did with Ocarina of Time.

Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Squeeze Another Zelda Game Out Of TOTK's Open World?

GinMiguel

I wanted a new map with reused assets long before TOTK was even announced. Now that they brought back but put twists on it. I’m willing to see it here also because they might be deepening the story. However I don’t think I’d react well if they reuse this Hyrule for a 3rd time in a row. If they do use this Hyrule again. Maybe changing the aesthetic.

I really feel more then ever for a different land. The reimaginings of Hyrule are nice like in Sky Wind and Tears but Termina, Koholint, STs Neo Hyrule, Oracles Holodrum and Labryna.
A Zelda game doesn’t need Hyrule to be good but the games that didn’t could be breaths of fresh air.

Re: Random: Nintendo's Brand Momentum Has Been Flat Since 2018, Says Sony

@Rinyuu I don't think about the mainline 2d Metroid series going away while they develop the 3d games.

I don't think of collaborations with Ubisoft as a worse effort then what the Wii U gave us.

I don't think about buying the same games that I've owned already on other systems VC nor didn't own on past consoles. Nor do I think about Mario Kart 8 DLC, mobile and Mario Kart AR being matter. And FYI, their stock rose when those came out.

Re: Random: Nintendo's Brand Momentum Has Been Flat Since 2018, Says Sony

@Rinyuu Regarding Reboots
Metroid Dread, partnering with Ubisoft by including Star Fox in Starlink? (even if that didn't interest me) and Mario Kart 8 DLC or the AR kart. Tell me how that isn't doing what they could've done.
Decent online experience/virtual console?
Having most games from every Nintendo system the NES to GBA and even a Sega system on top of throwing in DLC form many modern gaming? Compare that to the Wii U and 3ds era

I'll admit the Switch has had its off years, what console hasn't. But being the best selling Nintendo system in years, software being pushed left and right. The switch elevating their software both their big guns and smaller names commercially and financially.

The beginning of a theme park empire and movie industyry. Come on. if that's trash, I'd love to know what them being gold is.
