Really looking forward to it. After I'm done with ToTK and Oracle of Ages. My money is set. I got a good feeling about Wonder more than I did about every 2d Mario game since the NSMB games. Its past time.
Have they played Xenoblade. All joking aside. We barely/didn't have any britishness in Nintendo games. Which Is another reason to bring Krystal back in the mainline games.
While I've only played Wind Waker gamecube. Never owning a Wii U. I do like the bloom lighting the HD version. Something about it feels like a painting come to life, even if they might've over done it at times like the shadows on Links face where there has no reason to be or how claymated the character models look next to fire. Still, like it better.
Haven't they already been an entertainment company. Other than video games already being entertainment in of itself. They've had cartoons and anime, comics and manga from the late 80s through late 2000s. All thats changed now they're trying doing the movie thing again.
Rats, I was hoping at least for quality of life improvements like a map tracker, showing where I've been on the map. Or a master mode and trials quest. Maybe an arena to compete with other players. But oh well. Although not too surprised considering this game was going to be DLC originally and fleshed out as its own game because of the too many ideas.
@Ultimapunch I doubt Nintendo would let fan backlash would stop them considering they've done worse and got worse. And Martinet while vague about him leaving the role says he's still doing business with them.
Great idea, let us get used to what he sounds like, everyone will have calmed down about Martinets retirement and adjusted to the new guy taking over. And when we do finally know who he is. He won't get as much backlash compared to the time of Martinet retiring.
As for the answer to the first question of whether its a good idea to have them go face to face. There ought to be an answer for maybe but not in the same month.
I'm sure this Mario Wonder will get me back into 2d Mario in which I haven't been in years. I'm feeling I'll like Sonic Superstars more than Mania. As for which one I'm looking more forward to. Its a bit early to say, the Mario Wonder direct could easily make me put me in the Mario camp.
@Lizuka I don't know about being more real? But regarding no possibility of being good, Didn't stop Detective Pikachu, Mario and Sonic films creation. The quality of the stories the games have wouldn't matter if its an original plot that has no relation to the games. As for the Zelda working well for what it is. Its multiple things already. The manga series, a concert, fan animations and for the time even the cartoon weren't protested. Why is a movie where the line is drawn?
One could hope Metroid 6. 2d Metroid is looking healthy the foundation and honestly interests me more then the prime games. I really hope MS keeps improving and taking feedback with the side scrollers.
I don't like it either. The chaos under the vehicle looks like such a mess. the right arm being so overglowed. And seriously can someone give Links some pants?
I knew mercury steam had some controversy and allegations against them surrounding this project. But I wouldn't boycott MD because 1 it feels like I'm blaming a kid for having crappy parents, and 2 boycotting wouldn't solve anything, doesn't help the victims.
@PinderSchloss But they don't remake games that they already put on the switch. They might put games on the service that are already remade after sometime like Links Awakening and maybe Advanced Wars Reboot camp someday. But not the other way around. That could mean its an original top down Zelda they're doing if they put these two on the switch..
I've played moments of seasons. After playing Minish Cap, Flagship, Capcom's old subsidiary must've gotten a good amount of trust to have 4 Zelda games given to them.
I'm looking forward to play these games and I'll get to them after I'm done with ToTK. They're the last single player mainline games I have yet to sink my teeth into. I know folks wanted them remade but I wanted to play them in sprite form and we're due for an original 2d Zelda experience maybe from Grezzo. akin to Metroid Dread and Mario Wonder.
I wonder if this is what Jeff Grub was talking when he heard that more Zelda content was coming in the year.
I know many folks wanted Odyssey 2 or the next 3d Mario but I was interested for the next 2d Mario installment all this time. And Mario Wonder, which does not look like another NSMB game, not a maker but a brand new 2d game on its own right.
Ya know? Star Fox Grand Prix might've actually had more potential at the time than it sounded. Just an on rail shooter with a race to the finish aspect to it. Having the planets be designed to look more like race tracks. Include a roster of characters throughout the series. Include online multiplayer.
@Thief What everyone deluded themselves into thinking is that comedy/light hearted/whimsy can't also be for adults or that horror/grit/and depth can't be for kids either. Or acting like Zelda's tone hasn't had all of them.
Yeah, Donkey Kong would be next because its next in line for the theme park and they already have the character designs, voices, setting, and art direction. Zelda could be done with a different Universal Studio or Nintendo Pictures.
Sonic and Metroid get 2d games finally. When are Mario and Zelda getting an actual new 2d game. One that isn't remakes like Links Awakenings, rehashes like NSMB or makers?
I get having more going on can be overwhelming. That being said, all the busy work and the expanding of Hyrule on top of the new ways to traverse. All that is saving this game from being written off as glorified DLC it was conceptually or just rehashing and riding Breath of the Wilds coat tails. Any attempt at Tears of the Kingdom being unique as far as the world was concerned was a risk of going its own route. Much like Majora's Mask did with Ocarina of Time.
I wanted a new map with reused assets long before TOTK was even announced. Now that they brought back but put twists on it. I’m willing to see it here also because they might be deepening the story. However I don’t think I’d react well if they reuse this Hyrule for a 3rd time in a row. If they do use this Hyrule again. Maybe changing the aesthetic.
I really feel more then ever for a different land. The reimaginings of Hyrule are nice like in Sky Wind and Tears but Termina, Koholint, STs Neo Hyrule, Oracles Holodrum and Labryna. A Zelda game doesn’t need Hyrule to be good but the games that didn’t could be breaths of fresh air.
@Rinyuu I don't think about the mainline 2d Metroid series going away while they develop the 3d games.
I don't think of collaborations with Ubisoft as a worse effort then what the Wii U gave us.
I don't think about buying the same games that I've owned already on other systems VC nor didn't own on past consoles. Nor do I think about Mario Kart 8 DLC, mobile and Mario Kart AR being matter. And FYI, their stock rose when those came out.
@Rinyuu Regarding Reboots Metroid Dread, partnering with Ubisoft by including Star Fox in Starlink? (even if that didn't interest me) and Mario Kart 8 DLC or the AR kart. Tell me how that isn't doing what they could've done. Decent online experience/virtual console? Having most games from every Nintendo system the NES to GBA and even a Sega system on top of throwing in DLC form many modern gaming? Compare that to the Wii U and 3ds era
I'll admit the Switch has had its off years, what console hasn't. But being the best selling Nintendo system in years, software being pushed left and right. The switch elevating their software both their big guns and smaller names commercially and financially.
The beginning of a theme park empire and movie industyry. Come on. if that's trash, I'd love to know what them being gold is.
