Well honestly yeah, best looking crew we've had. Even the Nopon Riku and Mañana seam more vibrant to me then past Nopon leads. The leads from 1 felt a bit generic and 2 looked exaggerated. But this looks like a compromise, It especially helps that we can change their look with the class switching where we can kind of customize the group by swapping out their outfits with each other.
All significant but for me, I'd say giving the more obscure and niche series a rise, helping them find bigger markets and game sales. Giving the likes of Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Kirby, Yoshi, and Metroid a lift in sales and attention while even giving the big guns Mario, Zelda, Smash, Animal Crossing and Splatoon the best sales in their series (Mario excluded).
Here we go again. But after last year, nothings impossible. I mean if Advanced Wars, Famicom Detective Club, 2d Metroid, and Brain Academy could come back. 2 of which have been dormant longer then its not impossible.
Another step to getting back into animated/filming business. I loved the 2000's shows like Kirby and F Zero. I think I would've liked those 80's Mario cartoons if I grew up with it. Hope they do stuff like the Star Fox short and the Links Awakening HD opening/ending. I'd pay anything for that.
I'm banking on it being Zelda considering Links Awakening Sales. Either they're making another remake or I hope a brand new 2d game. Maybe they gained some experience from Links Awakening like Mercury steam did with Samus returns to make Metroid Dread.
I've been waiting for another Nintendo racer aside from Mario Kart and I've gotten. It's not Kirby Air Ride but it will do. 2022 really is Kirby's year.
Man, Nintendo's gotten faster with these roll outs. Here we thought releasing both N64 and Genisis games together would mean the roll out would take twice as long as the SNES games as I think we'd get them at the rate of two months, granted it was a few at a time. But now, I felt like it wasn't so long ago since we got Mario Golf and Pokemon Snap.
Kirby has the crown so far. Though Xenoblade 3 is the only other game I'm looking forward to just as much. Could give Kirby a run for its money. Who Knows if either will be seen by the Game Awards. Kirby wins family game thats for sure.
To be honest, this was a better showcase then I thought it would be. From surprises that I myself fancied like the paceman world, Megaman battle network collection, and sonic frontiers to stuff that while not up my ally are cool to have here like Nier, Mario and Rabbids 2, and Persona. Kind of feel like Partner Showcases have their place now. I'd almost go so far and say to this was as strong traditional e3 direct and even those aren't always top notch.
Okay, that new trailer, actually looked good to me. Things looked smoother and cleaner. Also thet cyberspace level intrigues me. Only thing I didn't like about it was Green Hill is back. Its yet to be seen if the levels are actually have meat to them and not only a minute like Forces was. Still, this is how you market a game Sega.
Wow, even Nintendo employees didn't like the art style back then. Makes me wonder how they feel about the choices they made for that other employees weren't in on in that era. How did they feel about Metroid Prime being first person, or Mario sunshine being an island adventure with a water pack? How'd they all feel about using two characters for Mario Kart?
I was already convinced to buy this game. If its like XC2's deal then I'm glad their doing the DLC with expansions. I wonder if non Xenoblade fans who might not have been interested in the game from previous trailers but might've watched this are now convinced to purchase the game. Cause thats how it was with me and XC2.
I hope he does Brooklyn like Lou Albano and Bob Hoskins. I like the Italian voice too but since Chris won't do an Italian voice, Brooklyn is the second accent Mario is known to have.
Has everyone forget that dedicated showcases for Smash, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and Fire Emblem happened in the same timeframe the general directs happened in previous years?
I kind of hope in the new game talks. I loved three houses but it kind of felt they were trying to get in on Persona 5 and what made that game great. I also wonder how the game narratively or mechanically would've went if Edelgaurd, Claude, and Dimitri, were the focus rather than Byleth. I also kind of hope we have something like the monastery but its something more broken up into smaller big areas. The monastery while immersvie gets kinda repetitive on revisits. And triplely so if you're marathoning all 3 houses.
While I get the appeal of romancing who you want. I also kind of miss the scripted romances like Marth and Caeda or Alm and Celica. They were the real deal. The whole player romancing x nice but it kind of feels artificial. The characters only have chemistry to my will not chemistry of their own to get entranced with.
@AtlanteanMan We have had old IP, it just isn't really from Sega. Shenmue 3 was a kickstarter, Monkey Ball, Panzer Dragoon, Space Channel 5 VR, even Alex Kidd. All had developers that were not under Sega's leadership or Sonic Team and hardly anyone played them.
I'm looking forward to what possibilities this could lead to. Miyamoto and Furukawa said Mario wouldn't be all they'd do. I see potential for DK, Zelda, Metroid, and Star Fox getting films or Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, and working out as shows because they parody or take inspiration from them.
Right now I don't really see this leading to a Smash Bros style crossover movie/show akin to Avengers or Justice League.
Thoughts, expectations, and/or hopes
-A trailer of Sonic Frontiers that clears stuff up about that game and gets a better message of it across, maybe delaying it in the process perhaps.
-The Sonic Prime trailer
-Its probably too soon for that 2d Sonic game that Zippo spoke of to be shown off so I won't put stock much into it.
-Same with the Knuckles spin off by Paramount Pictures
-Origins is a given
I'll also give a shout out to that Sonic Satam Season 3 fan made project.
Okay, so there is more to the combat than just jumps and homing attacks. Can't wait to find out why we're fighting. Also wondering what the enemy variety will be like. Sonics combat looks varied so need but the animations look a bit off, like he loses rings when he hits the ground instead of on contact. Still looks promising and has potential but I'm still not too sure yet.
This gameplay actually looked pretty cool if not a little un polished aesthetically. It still looks like they just plopped sonic into Hyrule again but it does look a bit more Sonic then it did the last time I guess.
Shame this got canceled. This looked like a really interesting 2.5d game with shifting camera angles. Looks like a blend of Kirby Air Ride and Crystal Shard.
This looks lit. I used to love Star Fox Adventures. Its the first Star Fox game I officially had. I see that Rare was trying to capture hinge its wagons on Ocarina of Time back in 2000. Now its come full circle with this combination of the two.
These fan animations and movies are terrific as are the people who make them. They do excellent stuff. Now if only an official Zelda project could come out someday.
While I do see the resemblance, I'm not sure this is blatant steeling. Its only mainly aesthetics and some gameplay. Granted Blossom Tales, Star Fox Adventures, and Oceanhorn definitely knew the line between ripping off and learning from.
@Roibeard64 @WallyWest Zelda is already more then a video game series. Look at the Manga and cartoon. Zelda doesn't need to limit themselves and waste potential.
I'd rather leave live action to the fan made projects. If a movie ever is made, I lean more towards CGI like Breath of Wild/Age of Calamity or hand drawn anime like the Link's Awakening. Regardless of what style the movie gets. As long as the studio cares, the director is passionate, and a cast and crew has effort. They can succeed. Also it doesn't feel good to be denied a chance because of blind skepticism does it?
Believe it when I see it. I'm actually more interested in a follow up to Advance/Rush then a follow up to Mania. I'd take it as well and am sure Sonic fans would take any 2d Sonic style at this point. But I just feel that the handheld Sonic games have a more under explored gameplay. While Mania feels like a culmination of Classic Sonic. Also they need Christian Whitehead and Headcanon for Mania 2.
Possibly. Trouble is if so, they could easily be separate where 1 comes earlier and the other later and charge both for $60. Theres also the slim possibility that Gamecube games come to online and they'll be on that way meaning no quality of life improvements from the Wii U versions. If WWHD and TPHD did come to Switch they'd have to change some stuff that the Wii U versions did like the tingle bottle or the stamps.
@russell-marlow I dont like it either and wish the series found a director that cares about Star Fox for Star Fox. Much like how Koizumi does Mario, Aonuma does Zelda, Hal does Kirby, and Sakamoto does Metroid.
@Einherjar Well I don't fantasize running around shirtless, unless I were a wrestler maybe nor do I want to look like Arnold Shuartzinager. Why do some people try to deflect the whole male sexualization as a male fantasy when not all men care about that anymore then all women care about the body's they may or may not have.
I just hope there is balance between beefcake and cheesecake. I doubt some sexualization is all that bad a thing as long as it isn't too often and shared between both sides of guys and gals.
@russell-marlow I didn't mean that sentence as a question but an answer. My point was those series are nicher if thats a word and dormant longer then Star Fox has been. Also even if the directors were passionate, Nintendo would have had to give them the consent to work on them knowing those games don't make that much money.
Thats true, Grezzo did overhaul the areas and models graphically. Granted Skyward Sword is stilll technically a modern game. Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time originally aren't. And technically the only remake with new content is Majora's Mask with the fishing holes. Ocarina of Time 3d had the boss gauntlet, Twilight Princess had the cave of shadows and poe lamp, and Wind Waker HD had the swift sail. Thats all reworking old content into new coding. As for only owning SSHD for playing on the go. The same could be said for the 3ds versions of OoT and MM unless you want to play them on Switch now.
