At the beginning I found the game great until I reached the Jump&Run/QuizPuzzle section. This is just annoying and stupid.
Not the Quiz/Puzzle stuff, but the way it handles. You fail at the quiz and boom: Do all the puzzles you already did again. And of course you only have 10 lives in the 3d mario section. I did not buy Mario Wonder, 3D World what ever for a reason.
@rjejr Sure the matrix demo is amazing, but everytime a new version of the engine is shown Fortnite is highlighted by the press as the first game using the new engine version. Yeah, a completely broken game is using next to none of the new features of the engine.
Yeah, I swapped to PS5 after I was able to purchase one, too.
It looks better (water/reflections, textures, render distance), but epic is using this bug-fest to promote their engine, which is just stupid, as Fortnite does not utilize even the smallest features, like the seamless transformation of objects, when you come closer. If you land or just travers by glider you can see pop ins all over the place and not to mention the known game bugs, which reappear frequently after fixing.
Yeah, the explosives are spammed like hell and in endgame the chances are high to loose. People even use rocket launchers as close combat shot guns, which is insane. In duos, trios and squads his team mates revive him and they game on. On the other hand sniper rifles and big ammunition, which are the best way to react are spawning in a very low rate.
This balancing is ruining the old setup a lot and is not as it was back then. Especially as the revive bus was added way later.
There is no use for gold as the currency back than was "materials", until they added additional stuff. Same is for gas. Also the shopping carts where there from the beginning, the same way they are now. The revive-busses are in there in single player, too, even if they are useless.
You can drive the golf carts, which is a four player vehicle. Just hop on any other seat and fire. Golf and shopping carts were the only drivable vehicles and there at the beginning. Later on the ballers, planes, helicopter and stuff were added. Ballers and Planes will be within this time travel season, too
What do you mean? The enhanced graphics due to the Engine update, are great.
The climbing is there and awesome as you can reach areas you prior needed to build. They just changed the map back. They even added the Respawn-busses to the old maps. Cars are not drivable, no fuel, no gold, ... That´s all stuff which came later and is nothing QoL related.
The only thing I hate about it, are the spammed explosives. Everyone is just using a rocket launcher to win. In group matches they even use the launcher as shotgun, so the attacker dies, too, as it does not matter as you team mate can revive you. That sucks.
All control related stuff is exactly like last season.
I just hope Epic understands the importance of the simple old maps. The overloaded future maps are less fun.
I had one single issue, where the dog was down. The "oh no" animation played, it faded black and did not come back, even so the game sound and menus were operating normal. I had to rewind to "fix" the issue.
Like so many other Nintendo games incl. Zelda and Splatoon it fails a 10 for me, because of all the small an stupid things.
You cannot skip stuff properly. No you always have a watch the first seconds and last seconds or instead of skipping everything you get the pass port shown. So you have to press A again, which is not possible for at least a second.
Also these tons of useless texts are annoying. They ask something, you say yes or no, just to be shown another useless text. Why Nintendo?
The "+" key is easy the most used key beyond the A and B button, because you often have to press +, then plus again, then A and plus again just to seek the last seconds of the video. Collin is annoying and telling you ***** while playing and there is no way to shut him up. YES I know the light tower needs to be protected. The comments are just taking screen space. ALL THE TIME! In the center of a Splitscreen!
Same is for Zelda. You can skip the jump from a tower, but just a bit, as the last 4 Seconds need to be shown. You can skip the news in Splatoon, but just not when you want it (Splatfest, updates, ...). it is impossible to silence Sheldon . Instead of waiting partly Minutes, while Sheldon is explaining everything about all the weapons you will never use, You can just accelerate the ***** and wait around 30-40 seconds instead of a few minutes.
What is it with skipping and Japanese games? When I press skip, I want to skip all. Not +, wait (loading stuff to skip next), +, wait (loading stuff to skip next), A (and wait just because you must wait after text bubbles for a second anyway), + wait again."
Sorry, sometimes you need to raise the bar and recent Nintendo games do not meet the "user friendliness" I would expect. Everything is polished, beside the stuff beside the game play, which also matters.
@Sisilly_G I paid 59,99 Euros for Tears of the Kingdom Day 1, which is not the 69,99 Nintendo wanted for Zelda. I even got it one day early. None of my friends paid 70 Euro.
It has nothing to do with the 32GB module. Nintendo especially does not pay more than a few cents for a module. They just the base price to 70$, because of getting 10$ more from a hyped game, if people are willing to pay this.
Games are cheaper physical often even on day one That is why it makes no sense to buy a PS5 digital only or XBox All Digital, too.
@Thaliard Yeah, it happens on all sticks, because it is the same ***** technology. 20 Years ago the components where better. These days they got smaller and thinner to get every cent out of them.
I am still searching for replacement versions for my Sony Controller and the Switch ProController. The tiny PSVR2 sticks will for sure fail soonish, but from the looks they are identical to the switch JoyCons just with a smaller thumb cap.
@johnvboy You said the answer to your problem. "all your JoyCons". For you the wear is spread over all of them, while other only own two and therefor have them failing quite often.
Also when kids are involved, they prefer the JoyCons even so a ProController is available.
Thats is the main reason why JoyCon drift is happening to some and not to others. It is just happening much slower for people without kids, with a ProController and when owning multiple sets.
I liked it a lot. Too much text here and there and the skipping stuff could "skip more" as usual, but it was fun. (3376 sparklium )
I found annoying that on exit of dungeons you "loose" Pikmin if you don´t remember what you need. I ended up on the little island and required 20 ice pikmin to transport the guy to the main land, but unlike when getting there I had only 12 or so and no blue pikmin at hand. So I wasn´t able to rescue the guy right away.
A nice touch is that the pikmin are now more smart, when you throw them onto piles. Unlike the other games they don't return to the empty space after collecting all pieces.
I also hope there is classic bingo battle in the full game. It was more strategic and intense than this basic grab all stuff with more or less instant respawn of item instead of having a fixed amount of fruit and enemies to collect. This mode is nice, but not a full replacement. I played over 500 hours bingo battle and it would hard to not have this in Pikmin4.
Motion controls are useless in Pikmin 4. It was always nice to run up and throw pikmin left, right and backwards when running forward. This is no longer possible. The hole process is more complicated now and I never used MC in this demo.
I bought the GULIkit replacments and now I will never experience Stick drift again, as the Hall-Effect sensors have no friction and wear. Probably the R-Key will break next as it is the second worst thing which fails.
The new ones feel more sensitive as you can continuously move the stick from zero to max without any jump. JoyCon control feels better than ever. Just ordered a second set for my other JoyCons.
I played the whole demo. It starts with alot of talking and the upgrades are confusing at first.
The dungeons are a ton of fun. Somehow I was unable to enable motion controls. It seems like the option was ignored.
After getting around with the dog and into the first area, it is great. The giant area is awesome and that you can move the onion while doing progress is fun. Also neat that you enlarge the onion is a nice touch.
May I ask why you think only hard core gamers are allowed to play? Dont you think people that only play a few hours a month, have disabilities or less reaction times should be allowed to play games?
I have seen this a lot. I personally got told to search for another hobby, because I complained about being unable to reach the last 25% of 3D World.
Pikmin3 has four difficulties and you can rewind a day even in older Pikmin games. Other games like DK-Country got an easy character and people blaimed Nintendo for making the game too easy. It is an OPTION! Just don't use it.
I dont get why people complain about games having these options. On the other side the same people blame Nintendo for not adding more accessibility options. So in the end the games are accessible but must not have any options to make it easier?
People complaining here should google for the words "option" and "optional". They may be surprised about the description.
Bought hall-effect-sensors JoyCon Replacements to kill stick drift once and for all. Then not only my body is ready for the Pikmin4 Demo, my hardware is too!
From Germany, too. I wonder if Kiddinx (former Kiosk), whom owns BB will sue Nintendo over this. Nintendo for sure would sue them if the positions where swapped. BB has its origin in 1977 and is a thing until now. So they predate Nintendos "idea" by quite some time
Benjamin even is in the same universe as "Bibi and Tina" and "Bibi Blocksberg", which makes the brand even more international.
It was one of five launch titles, so within the first four weeks there wasn't much choice beside Zelda, some other roleplay game, this wipeout clone with broken network stuff, Snipperclips and 1-2-switch.
So if you wanted a family game it was ether 1-2-Switch oder SnipperClips.
The fist game was a lie. You buy the game and party on.
No! You can play a hand full of mini games, which you need to play multiple times until a few get unlocked. You now need to play the available ones for quite some time to unlock more mini games. Of course the interesting ones are locked at the end.
This all makes no sense and the game itself was no fun unless you are drunk. I spend a lot of money on bad games, but this even beats Impossible Mission, which is a statement.
The successor is going to be a flop. Everyone owning part 1, will avoid this game. It was a success, because it was a launch title and there only where five or so. Everybody knows this, but Nintendo thinks it is a good idea to produce a sequel. Look at the facts Nintendo. Not just the numbers.
Wait a few weeks before buying a broken product? This is all wrong and you are supporting it.
THEY should have moved the release window by two weeks, but they did not to make money as soon as possible. THEY knew their game was unfinished.
A patch is not making the game better. It is just repairing it. Especially if you buy on module, this is what you have in 20 years. The release version and then you can wait as long as you want. The game will stay broken as the patches are no longer available.
Do you buy a broken toaster, because they promise a fix within two weeks? No. You return it and get a toaster from another company.
Returning the game is the only way to make companies aware. The only way the customer can report back that he does not like the product he got.
Who says they will fix the game using a patch? These days you buy games and hope they get fixed properly.
The main issue with software is that updating is basically free of any costs for the developers/companies. Back then you needed to send out new discs with fixed content. This was expensive and thereby avoided by testing.
And no! The complexity of modern games has nothing to do with that. Yes, modern games are more complex, but if you run a game and stumble over bugs right away, this is just the lack of testing. ANY proper test would have found that. Glitches that are hard to achieve are bugs I consider ok, but low frame rates and game breaking bugs are just a problem of cheap quality control. They saved money on the back of their customers.
See Cyberpunk2077. Sony even removed the game from the e-shop, because it was bad. Now somewhat later everyone bought the fixed game and no one is talking about the ***** show we had. GTA release? As long as they fix it at some point everything is fine.
How do we expect any change? Getting better games, when we just take it as normal and let them do what they want?
Returning a game and not buying it. Do not wait for a test and buy later. Do not buy at all like you would do for any other product.
You would not keep a fridge that cools only 12 hours a day. You would not keep a car where the trunk opens when you hit a bump in the road. You would not keep a bluray where the quality is low for some time. But people do for games, why? Just because the developers can fix stuff remotely?
If the breaks of your new car will be fixed via software-update within two weeks after you bought it, will you keep it? I think not!
Software these days is a broken product, because they can fix stuff later. Updates back then where ment to add features. Yay, we have the internet and can now sell add-ons without making new media like CD or module. Great and since then we get broken games, because companies can save money by moving the release window in the middle of their development time and the customer is even paying for the storage space (Nintendo Switch).
Don't support this or games will even get worst over time. Just backtrack the recent history. It is already getting worst. Or just try to play your games without any patches to see how they perform. Game development is so expensive these days and yet there seems to be no money left for proper testing and fixing, before a stupid gamer does the job and even pays for it.
The lack of golf put me off and now I am not willing to return.
Usually having a module means having a buggy version of the game, but now the situation is even worth. I am all for real DLC, but this just sucks. They new golf is a key feature for many people, but they left it out to later jump out of the box to present "golf" as the next free thing. Hurray!
I would rather get Everybodies Golf on Playstation now, than investing in a game where beside bowling the only mode I like is missing by default.
Getting it second hand is the only possible way this game will find a way onto my switch, now.
I don't care about 20-40 year old games or demos or weekly test games.
All I want is stated in the name "Online Service". I currently use it only for Splatoon 3 and it is worst than ever. The first match start in a 90% rate always fails with a data error. After that games get aborted and you loose e.g. game mode like salmon run, even so you are just about to beat the boss, just because someone disconnects. This is all stupid.
I currently use Splatoon3 only for the single player mode, because online play is just *****.
And the fabulous Nintendo Online Service is only used to backup game saves. Don't expect me to upgrade.
I guess the main issue only appears when you compare it with the PS5 version.
I watched some PS5 footage and it looked really nice. Later I saw Switch footage and it looked kind of boring. I am sure when I would have only seen the Switch version it would probably be ok.
Knowing both versions look would make me buy the PS5 version of course.
Tried after the patch. First game worked fine. After that it failed two times to even start a match. It aborts right away in the lobby over and over.
This is worst than with Splatoon2. And no. My internet connection is fine. (400mbit fiber) Playing other online titles on Switch and PS5 have no issues.
No, I am actually not. I am even remembering a time where games needed to be bug free, because the Cassette, Disk, CD or DVD was shipped and used as they are. No update possible. I remember players getting a replacement disk due to bugs. As a result they prevented costly replacements by testing.
Game where not bug free, but they where tested well enough to be working out of the box and being playable till the end. Today games need patches to be able to process in the game. This is the essential feature of the game. It must be possible to finish it and even there are developers failing today. It never got properly tested.
And customers like you are just taking it as normal and even defend this behavior.
It is still just a rental. There is nothing cheap in it. And you don´t save any money on DLC.
It is a rental. If you stop paying, it is all gone. Instantly. The DLC is not free as you pay each month for it and depending on the amount of stuff you actually use you may pay even more than a real buy of the DLC would have cost you.
If the service is gone. Everything will be gone, because you own nothing. It is a time limited rental.

Re: Video: These Replacement Joy-Con Sticks Fix Drift Issues, But How Do They Feel In Practice?
@johnvboy The dust comes from the inside. External dust does not matter.
The sticks are grinding the graphite pads and the dust is increasing the grinding. It starts slowly and gets worse quite fast.
Every Stick will drift long term. It is faulty by design. The pads are tiny.

Re: Poll: Which Of Rare's Classic N64 Games Would You Like To See On Switch Online?
I do not rent games and nothing else is this.
I would even pay less, if Nintendo would do "Nintendo Online Essential", as I would never use NES or SNES and those are nothing I would play and rent.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Receives Its First Title Update On Switch
@Joeynator3000
I played the first games campaign without crashes, but the two player mode crashed a lot and never got fixed.
They fixed the issue in the second game by not implementing a battle mode.
Re: Nintendo Switch Sports Golf Update Now Live, Here's What's Included
And since their post release strategies they can use the small modules and the customer is paying for the SD card space.
I love golf and this put me off right at release. I would rather use the WiiU version again, than buying this sports game.
Usually people scream when payed DLC is mentioned Day1, but here everything is fine, because it is free.
Re: Frustrated Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Players Are Reportedly Getting Refunds
@arekdougy
Re: It's Official, The Nintendo Switch Sports Free Golf Update Arrives Next Week
I skipped the game due to the lack of golf and I don't plan to buy it now.
Maybe if I get it cheap second hand.
Re: Nintendo Switch Sports Ad Tees Up Golf For November Release Date
@sanderev
Fun!
A company announces payed DLC at games launch -> Incomplete game. They left it out on purpose. Buhu!
A company announces free DLC at games launch -> You can play the complete game from day 1. What is the problem?
Re: Nintendo Switch Sports Ad Tees Up Golf For November Release Date
The lack of golf put me off and now I am not willing to return.
Usually having a module means having a buggy version of the game, but now the situation is even worth. I am all for real DLC, but this just sucks. They new golf is a key feature for many people, but they left it out to later jump out of the box to present "golf" as the next free thing. Hurray!
I would rather get Everybodies Golf on Playstation now, than investing in a game where beside bowling the only mode I like is missing by default.
Getting it second hand is the only possible way this game will find a way onto my switch, now.
Re: Nintendo Considering "Various Initiatives" And "Further Enhancements" For The Switch Online Service
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Sonic Frontiers?
I guess the main issue only appears when you compare it with the PS5 version.
I watched some PS5 footage and it looked really nice. Later I saw Switch footage and it looked kind of boring. I am sure when I would have only seen the Switch version it would probably be ok.
Knowing both versions look would make me buy the PS5 version of course.
Re: Review: Genki Waveform Headphones - The Perfect Audio Solution For Your Switch?
I prefer my Sony Pulse3D when it comes to head phones and they work everywhere.
Re: Splatoon 3 Removes Rainmaker From Anarchy Battle Rotation Due To Bug
Who cares about the mode?
Tried after the patch. First game worked fine. After that it failed two times to even start a match. It aborts right away in the lobby over and over.
This is worst than with Splatoon2. And no. My internet connection is fine. (400mbit fiber) Playing other online titles on Switch and PS5 have no issues.
I regret buying this *****.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Update Available, Here Are The Patch Notes
@RobynAlecksys
> you must be new to gaming
Re: Poll: Is The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Good Enough Value Yet?
It is still just a rental. There is nothing cheap in it. And you don´t save any money on DLC.
It is a rental. If you stop paying, it is all gone. Instantly. The DLC is not free as you pay each month for it and depending on the amount of stuff you actually use you may pay even more than a real buy of the DLC would have cost you.
If the service is gone. Everything will be gone, because you own nothing. It is a time limited rental.
