Re: Bayonetta 3 Dev Responds To Voice Actor Dispute In Official Statement

Geit_de

Some thing that IMHO does not add up in this hole mess is why Bethesta lied about the voice actor change in the first place?

Instead of "We did not come to an agreement!" they claimed in the first official news about the voice acting change and before the mud war even started that "She was busy with other projects and had no time."

This, in this hole "she lies, they lie" messy process, is strange.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Update Now Available, Here's What's Included

@MajinSoul

XB3 was - beside the music - a worst experience. They learned nothing from the "Remember me!"-***** in XB2 and made it standard here. Each character has just one or two punch lines and instead of just shutting up, they repeat the same sentence up to 6 times a minute.

Total crap. Not to mention the same repetitive behavior when a fight ends. I wanted to murder someone you claims for the thousands time he is the MVP.

@Paddle1

Congratulations! You just showed, that you did not read my post at all.

I don't even use any Wifi. And yes. Wifi cannot be stable at all time. I guess you would know if you ever heard any type of radio, where e.g. noices of mobile phones came out of the speakers. This happens with wifi, too. Just more random as stations may be over loaded with signals. Old devices like fridges cause a surge and so on. The problem is you cannot always resend wifi data in time. It then gets lost and so does the connection.

Wired 400/200 fiber without any connection issues with any game beside in serverless P2P Splatoon. We played non Nintendo games with the same setup using WiiU, Switch and Playstation. All wired and all without any issue. Just with serverless Nintendo games like Splatoon we waste 2-3 games per hour just because of a connection error.

P2P is where everyone is part of the data chain sending data directly to other servers and one of the players is "hosting" the game. Basically the same when you use the Inkade and play locally. Not only is wifi more unstable, but P2P also requires more data to be transferred compared to a normal server game.

Using P2P for gaming is Nintendos fault as it makes the game unstable for multiple players, when a single person drops out and it requires more data to be transferred. So just one wacky connection is required to terminate at least a single random player beside the one caused it. Since we played wired from the same network with four people, the wacky connection always was on the other team. Randomly one player gets disconnected and everyone else knew the game will get terminated soon.

Regarding to Digital Foundry Nintendo even doubled the games tick time. That is the reason why you get so much double kills (you and the opponent) in Splatoon3.

Another think probably no one is thinking about, but it is happening twice as often as before.

We are all a happy community. Luckily there is no voice chat. That would just increase wifi load even more and is probably impossible, even so other companies manage that fine.

Re: Team Gear Wins Splatoon 3's Deserted Island Splatfest

Geit_de

@Moddedkling

The problem with Wifi is that you have no control over the stability. Anyone around can turn on a badly shielded device and the connection is gone for a millisecond. Same for e.g. phones, BR Players, TVs, ... start updating apps.

The main reason with splatoon are all the Kids playing wifi and not caring about running around with their consoles in mobile mode.

Nintendo simply should split lobbies for wifi and non wifi players. They also should fix their lobby *****. Everytime they cancel a game you need to recreate the room and join again. There is so much stupid stuff in there. Even with four people in the same room talking with each other, this takes time.

Re: Team Gear Wins Splatoon 3's Deserted Island Splatfest

Geit_de

@RubyCarbuncle

Funny, I use fibre, too. With other games on other consoles I have no issues.

You may know that nintendo is not using any servers. It is P2P, so if one player drops out, he takes other with him.

We played with four people in one physical room (as in sitting next to each other) over the same connecton. All wired. Every three/four games the game was canceled by Nintendo, we had a lost connection.

Randomly one of our players dropped out and the other followed. Or the game just stopped because one of the other four gamers dropped out and took people from the other team along

And no. It does not happen with the same connection and playing a non Nintendo game like Fortnite, Valorant or what not all day without having any issue, but with Splatoon we have the problem since Splatoon1.

Re: Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Won't Include Multiplayer

Geit_de

Beside Pikmin 3 a rare multiplayer tactics game you could play with two players on Switch.

The multiplayer of the first game was great and fun. Beside the frequently crashes that never got fixed as UBI-Soft did not care as the game sold so well.

With the new one, they fixed that issue like a boss by removing the feature. Bah.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Tricolor Turf War In Splatoon 3?

Geit_de

@Tom41

Because it is possible to interpolate missing data packages and get a relative solid result.

If a cart is driving, it has a direction and a speed. If packets are missing you can assume where it is. You may have seen karts and even weapons jumping. That's because packets got delayed or lost and the software assumed where it will be at the time. This is the reason you sometime see a red shell miss you and moments later you get hit by the very same shell.

That's because you or the shell where at the same location in the past, but at time it wasn't possible to detect.

While on MarioKart you only have 12 players and a ton of weaons, with Splatoon you need to sync the entire map as every weapon, every shoot and every movement of a player is changing the color. Together with P2P, this information must be transferred to any console and depends on all players upload speed and overall network quality, so it takes time till all data is on all players consoles.

You need to swap to real servers as the current P2P has its limits and 8 players is already at its limit with 8 players and barely works.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Tricolor Turf War In Splatoon 3?

Geit_de

@Eeros

Nah, its the default Wifi. Wifi is loosing packages all over the place when getting interrupted.

These interruptions can be anything. A fridge/freezer activating cooling, non LED light tubes flickering on, power tools and so on.

And since Nintendo is using P2P all players are connected directly, so I one player drops packages the data of other players are lost and when a player is loosing connection he also pulls other players into disconnection, which makes the stuff unstable like hell.

When using real servers this isn´t happening. In case of a disconnect just the one player would be getting lost and could be easily replaced by a bot.

Not providing a LAN adapter by default (until the OLED Dock) is the first problem. Most people use Wifi and don't even think about it. "Why buy an adapter just for Splatoon?" Well, yeah.

Secondary the mobile aspect is triggering the Wifi-usage which causes even more problems, when people play where they usually don't play online (garden, own room).

Nintendo saved money and did not implement a LAN port (which is a general issue in the industry. Even streaming devices need adapters these days). Also saved Nintendo Money by not providing servers.

The new lobby server technology works great. Matchmaking is much faster in Splatoon3 compared to older Splatoon2, but it falls flat when your game gets terminated due disconnects several times in a row after 2 minutes of game play.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Tricolor Turf War In Splatoon 3?

Geit_de

P2P Killed the Splatfest. We played with four people within one room on fiber via LAN and got constant disconnects because the foreign team played on wifi.

It would be more suitable when Nintendo would group LAN and wifi players into separate lobbies or ditch P2P. These players and their frequently disconnects are annoying and ruin the entire game for all others.

Re: Soapbox: Yes, You Really Should Do All Of Xenoblade Chronicles 3's Sidequests

Geit_de

I personally don´t like the new missions in XB3. In many cases it is just annoying.

Especially the observation missions with the yellow (I) are just to make the play time longer. "Now we need to talk at a rest point." In previous games you just talked right away. Now you need to go to a rest point (even so if it is just right there), click through, listen to the same samples all over again, just to continue a discussion. Annoying. In many cases jut to get 100 EP as there is no real mission in the background, which is even more annoying.

Not part of the topic, but why did they reduce the samples? After more or less every fight the same dialog about being the MVP or complains about pushing to hard. This is on "remember me" level of XB2.

On the other hand you have so many cool audio samples most of the players probably never hear. E.g. when using different party members to open a nopon container or even when changing the lead to a new character.

Many things in this game feel repetitive. There is always a supply drop at the same predefined location, which e.g. somehow do not open unless you kill the birds flying over them. This makes no sense at all. Why didn´t they make the enemies always one or two levels higher than the player. So they attack and you cannot open the chest. That would make more sense than searching for the right animals to kill so the box unlocks.

However these boxes are just cheap ways to enlarge game play. Same for the factories. Just dump a couple of the same things, add some monsters, 20 minutes of game play added without the need of doing anything complex.

I also hate the tons of invisible walls, when you are on a quest. "we should not go there!" Why? I just want to get some of the items and see what is behind there, but no. The open world game is restricting me and I have to finish the mission (e.g. "The hunter" at the sparkly pond)

The containers and flutes I can see as collectables. On the other hand they removed the real collectable cards. Yeah, you can now search for persons multiple times to gain EP, but why not having the old way, too? They increased the amount of collectables compared to the other games, but limit their use. Especially when using the factories a few times.

I don´t know how many nopon coins I wasted (automatically sold) before making use of them (when finding the place to do so). On the other hand ether is full all the time and gets sold automatically, too.

While the game feels finished, stable and all, it feels unbalanced and rushed at places.

XB3 looks, sounds and plays great otherwise. While I like XB3 overall, I feel annoyed every time the game forces me to do things, I did multiple times. Like there is no way to speed up the cooking stuff, while you can skip every other plot.

Re: Fortnite Zero Build Is Live Now As A Permanent Mode

Geit_de

@Quincy

I am not talking about the switch version in general. I am talking about the game itself.

We used to play every evening from the first day on switch. We switched to just a little on Thursdays and are now playing mixed (2x Switch, PS5 and PC). The bugs are there and we loose players to bugs or at least get temporary deaths.

Just watch the videos I mentioned above. or search for "Fortnite Moments" or "Fortnite Fails" on youtube. Those usually are not random glitches. They happen all the time on an console and pc. I have even seen top streamers not even flinching, when on the last meters out of the storm suddenly a previous invisible trailer appeared and he was forced to walk around within the storm, loosing even more energy.

These bugs are the worst. Vehicles get invisible after getting out, jump over the map to other locations, when you get in. Weapons and obsticals are visible even if they are not there.

Team Member1: Why does the chest not open?
Team Member2: There is no chest
Team Member1: What about the MK7?
Team Member2: I dont see a MK7.

Fortnite could be the best shooter available, but due to the bugs, the frustration levels are high, especially when you encounter the very same bugs year over year over year.

The only thing making it worse are people claiming there is nothing wrong with the game, when there is even video prove for all of them, which dates years to the past and those issues can happen to anyone at every time, because Epic does not care about fixing bugs. The game "works" and they make billions. The easiest way to make even more money is to drain it from maintenance.

When watching those videos it is more like "Done that, been there." and "Oh, that bug is new. Did not have that one, yet"

Re: Fortnite Zero Build Is Live Now As A Permanent Mode

Geit_de

@Snatcher

They added these shields that can be rammed into the ground (unlike wood, stone and metal which was separate), but that does not help, as there are only 5 weapon/health slots and you need explosives to survive tank encounters and those shield plates. So you have three slots for weapons and health.

At least you can build again. I am bad at it, but I manage to setup defenses on the ground, when I am shot in the open without wasting a slot for a shield cover.

Re: Fortnite Zero Build Is Live Now As A Permanent Mode

Geit_de

@SteamEngenius

I know about the C4 and even grenades, but you can only carry so many and after the tank is before the tank.

Audio is broken in the game all the time. Samples are not playing. You stand next to the revival bus and there sometimes is no sound. It happens every now and than for all samples. I cannot even count how often I ran through ammunition and turned around to check if I really picked it up. There are tons of bug in the game and they all repeat and return due to bad programming practices.

Turning on the visual indicator turns of the 3d audio (when it is working correct, which is most of the time).

I cannot even count anymore how often I lost a fight because of the game. Be it hiding behind a car, which for other players wasnt there. And I died like an idiot taking cover behind nothing to heal. Cars sometimes return to their original spawn points, which is usually far away within the storm and you die.

You often cannot pick up an newly added item because you need to free the slot (the canister issue) or you pick up one thing and right in the fight you eat an apple, because the game swapped two items.

After more than two years they finally fixes the watery splash sound, when you hit or get hit, but the game does not count it as a hit. Well, they fixed the sound. No reason to count the heat shot. At least this bug is fair and happens to every one.

The witch broom was nice, too. Randomly, when you activated it, it simply claimed "You cannot use this item while swimming". Yeah, when you are low health, need an escape in the middle of grassy hills.

You cannot even continue playing if someone is joining. The game changes the mode to the next player level (before it selected just a group game) and then gets stuck waiting for a new game forever. This is broken for around two years.

Hell they did not even manage to get their weekly/saison missions handled correctly.

I suggest you watch some "fortnite moments" or "fortnite fail" videos to get a glimpse for all the bug the game has. Most of them are still in, since they tend only to fix miss coloured and broken skins.

The personal status and friends status list is broken, too and no one cares. I won a random two digit two player games, but played only 3 in total. All the information there is broken and useless.

This is not switch related. These bugs are cross game, too.

Epics game engine is call one of the best, but this game is an example, which shows in a horrible way how a game works, when you let the graphic department do the programming. These people have no clue on how to fix the mess.

Re: Fortnite Zero Build Is Live Now As A Permanent Mode

Geit_de

The map is not made for sprinting to cover. There are wide open fields and to make it worse they added tanks and a freaking battle bus, which even with building are a nightmare.

In addition the sound is broken and sometimes you hear the tanks right the moment they come through a wall and you are dead.

Once again they managed to make the game outcome more random. No matchmaking in regular modes and their faible to add tank, mechs, battle busses and other overpowered weapons to give "less skilled people a chance to win". Their words. To bad, when highly skilled people go for those weapons.

Re: Rumour: Fortnite Might Be Getting A Permanent 'No-Build' Mode

Geit_de

Yeah, they remove the build mode, so you have no cover as the map is not designed for it and has wide open areas. While mountains you previous just build straight up you now need to walk around, which caused longer ways to evade storm area.

And as if this is not bad enough they add freaking tanks that are OP and a ton of NPCs that shoot on sight and have tanks.

Good thing Fortnite has no real matchmaking for normal mode, so "pros" have fun rushing other people for fun.

Fortnite gets worse and worse every season and this not even includes year long game breaking bugs.

Re: Shin'en Kicks Off 'Everything Must Go' 3DS And Wii U eShop Sale, Up To 80% Off

Geit_de

FastRMXs online is so bad. It is actually fake.

It looks only good, when played alone with online people, but the whole experience is fake. You play against bots.

Once you have three friends in the same room playing against each other, you see how bad it is. Just let everyone frequently call out their position. During the entire first round, everyone (!!) is first. Then you feel someone bumping into yourself and your friend is screaming "I overtook you", but he did only on this console. You may overtake others, but they only get collision rumble, if you hit them.

Even the score board is broken. Sometimes it shows players with higher times before faster players.

We did the same test with the WiiU version and three WiiU in the same room. Real online game play start to end and everything is fine.

Since there wasnt any update to the switch version, we never played it again on a meet up.
