"The fact that a studio with notable experience in smartphones is seemingly working on a Switch project is also no surprise, as the console is ultimately a tablet"
i wouldn't mind some ports of smart phone Final Fantasy games such as FF Dimensions or Brave Exvius
@SLIGEACH_EIRE why does the console cost need to come down?
you can't judge it's price by systems that have been on the market for 5+ years because it's a brand new system
if anything you should judge it by the PS4 and XB1 LAUNCH price and in that regard it's cheaper than both systems were when they launched, the XB1 was over £450 when it launched and it wasn't even capable of being used as a mobile system either
like many have sad here i think this is more an issue of people mishandling the system than a manufacturing or design issue because you have to think a company as big as Nintendo would have caught something like this in the design phase
PETA, this is the same PETA that kills animals given into their shelters because they don't want any "nasty" humans to have them
The same ones who think that baby sheep are killed to make wool.
Hundreds of years of farming and experience has made Milk Farming as painless and stress less for the Cows as possible
And besides THIS IS A GAME FFS what do they think it's gonna teach kids to do, stand in a field with their Joy Cons looking at a cow and shaking it trying to make milk come out?
also i have worked on a dairy farm and most of what they say is crap, at least for the one i worked at that is
your kidding me, these people are getting MONEY for creating an emulator (now i know that emulators themselves are OK and have many uses but lets not kid ourselves, people use them to play pirated games)
if you wanna play Nintendo games then BUY A NINTENDO SYSTEM!
well if i'm honest i mostly use the Pro Controller anyway, the only time i use the joy-con is when i play it in portable mode with it still attached to the system and i haven't had any issue so far, fingers crossed it stays that way
@olrodlegacy well at least all their big titles like the entire Assassin's Creed franchise
but yeah if a big company like Ubisoft show good support for the switch by bringing their AAA titles to the system it might encourage other 3rd party developers to do the same
" but what about digital games on the eShop which have no physical production costs to factor in?"
say that to Sony and Microsoft and any other publisher who have consistently charged more for digital games than physical ones
the problem is there is no competition if you buy a boxed game you have MANY outlets to chose from and this inturn drives down the price but with digital you ONLY have PSN, XBL or eShop and so the charge full whack for it even though there is ZERO manufacturing or shipping costs
a lot of people here don't seem to have any understanding of copyright law it seems
IF you are making money using the likeness or any part of someones elses IP without their permission that is ILLEGAL even if it's dressing as a character from a video game and kart racing or even doing a review of a game
Nintendo are well within their rights to protect their IP's in what ever way they see fit, now i'm not saying they couldn't be more lenient especially to reviewers on youtube for example but if a group of people are going around dressing as mario characters and charging people to see them race then even if you call it Maricar it's still using their IP and making money off it
so i agree with Nintendo 100% they should fight to protect their IP and i hope they win because it would just leave the door open for ANYONE to make unlicensed products on not only Nintendo IP's but ANY IP and the market would be flooded with cheap knock off games and look what happened the last time they did that
that's right the Video Game Crash of 1983 because the market was flooded with too many knock off/reskins of games and consoles
@Damo fair enough although physical over digital for me and it will be for as long a digital prices are more expensive than physical when they have no reason to be
good once i get an idea of what kind of 3rd party support it's getting then i'll order one for sure, once they become available that is because everywhere i look they are already sold out
well i do have one pre-ordered but i'm not sure if i'm gonna keep it
The only game i really want right now is Breath of the Wild and i could get that on the Wii U
maybe i will get one later in the year once more games are out i want, i made the mistake of getting a XB1 at launch for one game and now all it does is gather dust and i don't want that to happen to the Switch too
hold on i have my boxed NES in really good condition (even still has the original warranty card) and some boxed NES games, wonder how much they would be worth?
aghh forget it, i can't sell my NES it's too precious to me
@AhabSpampurse try amazon, they have some N64 pads in good condition, even some really good third party ones too
well i liked the English voices plus i think adding voices was a big move for Zelda but i reckon it will be better for it as it can tell a more varied story
i saw "Share screenshot to social media" in one of those pics, so no built in live streaming then i would have thought they would have included one, shame
as for paying, well it doesn't bother me both the other systems charge and as i'm not huge multiplayer gamer, especially on Nintendo games it's not going to be an issue for me, although i could see why it would annoy others but bets are they already have a PS4 a XB1 or P.C for their multiplayer games so i doubt it will make much difference to them either
still we just have to wait and see because it's going to be months after release when they start charging so some of these things could change
I'm getting it on Switch along with the Switch itself
also at least if you get the Wii U version the install isn't that big and it's better than installing the WHOLE game to the HDD like you have to on PS4 and XB1
well i never go digital unless i have no choice but i think i will probably just buy cheap smaller cards if i have to and just keep swapping or should i say "SWITCH" them out, hey, hey...........
"The good news, at least for consumers in the Americas, is we're going to continue to make the NES Classic available. With the ongoing level of supply, the ongoing demand is going to be met. We know the concern."
need to get some to the rest of the world too,the ebay scalpers are really taking the ****
but if not then include the english text and voices on the Japanese cart and we can import it with the Switch being Region Free and all (about time Nintendo)
@Sanicranfast but if the box art was a mock up made by EB Games and as Nintendo hasn't said that the game in the video is MK8 then it doesn't mean it's NOT MK9
people are just assuming it's MK8 and to be fair it probably is but we shouldn't be saying it is until it's confirmed or denied by Nintendo at the moment allwe know is there is a Mario Kart for Switch
"Nintendo is of course well within its rights to protect its brands, but do you think it has been a bit heavy-handed here"
in word NO, Pokemon is OWNED by Nintendo and these people, no matter the intention was using a property THEY DID NOT OWN OR HAVE ANY RIGHTS TO
no to mention they would be using the program from an oficial Pokemon game to make this, which involves reverse engineering and modification of it WHICH IS ILLEGAL, it even says so in the games terms of use
now i'm not denying that they people who was doing this have talent because they do but if they want to make a game then they have to make their own original game, THEY CAN NOT USE AN IP THAT DOES NOT BELONG TO THEM, that is STEALING
@MarcelRguez i did but using FFIV is a waste of time, if like he said "I used this as a good example of why students of Japanese shouldn't shy away from learning kanji, and why context is always at the core of the Japanese language." then he should have used a untranslated game, it would be better for teaching as it would allow them learn the mistakes instead of just checking them against the translations that are already done

Re: That Bayonetta Countdown, Unsurprisingly, Was for a PC Port
Switch ports would be nice but i would rather Nintendo and SEGA get to work on a 3rd game
Re: Square Enix Veteran and Chrono Trigger Director Teases Nintendo Switch Project
@8bit4Life you should be happy you even got that, the UK didn't, heck we never even got Chrono Trigger until the DS Remake
Re: Square Enix Veteran and Chrono Trigger Director Teases Nintendo Switch Project
"The fact that a studio with notable experience in smartphones is seemingly working on a Switch project is also no surprise, as the console is ultimately a tablet"
i wouldn't mind some ports of smart phone Final Fantasy games such as FF Dimensions or Brave Exvius
Re: Sega Countdown Site Teases Bayonetta News Next Week
@Yasume well with the fact Nintendo actually PAID for Bayonetta 2's development that is highly unlikely
on topic: i would love a B3 but i have a feeling this is probably a Switch port of B2
Re: Feature: One Month of Nintendo Switch - Five Improvements We Want to See
@SLIGEACH_EIRE well you could do it with the PS4 Pro and it's cheaper than that by about £70
Re: Lego City Undercover Still Has Ridiculous Load Times on Switch
@Discostew pretty much what i was going to say but you would think that when porting to a new system they would try to fix these issues

Re: Video: Here's Four Solid Reasons Zelda: Breath of the Wild has the Best Princess Zelda to Date
@MasterGraveheart sure it does, it's still Zelda

if you wanna play Nintendo games then BUY A NINTENDO SYSTEM!
try actually supporting the company
Re: Nintendo Fixes the Left Joy-Con Problem with a Small Piece of Foam

Re: Sonic Mania Developer Clarifies Details About the Switch Port's Launch

Re: Feature: Ten Useful and Fun Little Details to Know About Nintendo Switch
so you can share images, that's neat although some form of live streaming function ala to Twitch or Youtube would have been nice
Re: Feature: First Impressions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Wii U
@ThomasBW84 how about putting a little add on to the Switch review pointing out the Wii U versions differences and giving it a score?
Re: Site News: Nintendo Life is Red, Nintendo Life was Blue
it looks fine to me kind of like the colour it would change to when you went to the DS section
on a side note i still love the Wii U too but honestly it really did feel like a HD Wii kind of what the PS4 Pro is to the PS4, that kind of thing
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
wish i had pre-ordered this, it was only released today and it's already sold out here on both Switch AND Wii U

looks about the size of a PSVita Cart (which i notice ISN'T in your comparison pictures by the way)
Re: Dragon Ball Fusions Sneaks Into UK Top 40
i'm enjoying it even with the lack of swords but i can see why it's a title that only really appeals to hardcore Dragon Ball fans

well i hate digital so for me it's not an issue

but at least this makes it better, as long as they ain't a stupid price like the PSVita ones were
Re: By The Way, The Joy-Con Grip Bundled With Nintendo Switch Won't Charge Your Joy-Cons
@MrGawain at least it's better than the £49:99 Microsoft charge for one of their charge kits
honestly in this day and age they should ALL come with either a plug and play kit or a charging kit
the only one who offers a chargeable controller with the ability to charge while you play out of the box is Sony

Re: Super Mario Bros. Movie Due to Receive an Ultimate Steelbook Blu-Ray Re-release
