It was basically pointless for me to buy Halo Infinite physically. But they can still be resold, traded, regifted et cetera because the disk isn't associated with your account. So it still has one of the major advantages of physical media. I can still get used Xbox or PlayStation games for cheap.
If I understand correctly you can't do that with key cards.
actually that's not the case, Game Key Cards can be resold and traded because it's the same as those XBOX discs, the card basically acts as the licence and isn't tied to you account, i think you might be confusing them with Virtual Game Cards and i get that the names are very similar although you can Lend virtual games to members of your Nintendo Account family group for up to 14 days
look i get it Game Key Cards ain't ideal especially when companies do it just to cheap out when there is an option to fit it on a cart but what i don't get is WHY it's suddenly a problem as XBOX has been doing the exact same thing with their physical releases since the Series X launched and no one bats an eyelid
whenever you put a XBOX game in a Series X that "update" it's downloading isn't an update, it's the actual game all that's on the disc is the installer the same as a game key card the only difference is Nintendo isn't hiding it like XBOX are
now of course i also understand the "what happens when the stores are shut down" argument and the games can no longer be downloaded and that's a whole other discussion but at least you will still be able to play the games installed on your system with the card as it wouldn't need to connect online to check the license
yes there are lots of issues that need sorting out but i still think GKC are a step in the right direction for the transfer and use of digital content and everything has to start somewhere and this could lead to better options down the road
And honestly i would rather have a game key card than a code in the box
It sounded fine, i think the main issue is that many people just haven't heard Mario really talk before so it's going to be jarring no matter what the voice was (and no going hoo, haa, Whahoo in a stereotypical Italian accent doesn't count)
@TheStardustWarrior lets not forget that they are releasing FFIX in store but as a download code in a box instead of on a cart even though they already released it on a cart in other regions
Like i said in my previous post, the guy in charge of Square right now is a muppet and he needs to go before he kills the company
Legal emulators are a good option but do You know what else helps, physical releases and backwards compatibility, something publishers are trying to push us away from
Also how about console re-releases say on a certain anniversaries releasing a console again for a limited time say that entire year but with just with a few updates like better compatibility with current TV's
Nope, a cloud version completely negates the point of the Switches portability and completely negates the whole reason people wanted them on Switch, to play thrm portability
I think I'll stick to the PS4 versions i already have
and the PS3 versions & XB1 & the original PS2/PSP/GBA/DS/3DS releases
@tourjeff did you ever play One Piece Burning Blood because it's basically a reskin of that, the One Piece characters even use the same animations for all their attacks
It's a pretty basic arena brawler but can be fun playing with friends
If they had any sense they wouldn't just focus on the current Doctor but have multiple playable Doctors in this game not only would it make for a interesting story but it would also appeal to a larger audience
Plus it would allow different game play elements as each Doctor had their iwn strengths
Can't be any worse that Return to Earth back on the Wii
Also i hope it's like the old Doctor Who Adventure Games that was released on P.C during Matt Smiths run, they were fun, sad you can't play them anymore though
@Incarta no you're absolutely right they are within their rights to do it if Nintendo are infringing copyright the thing is Nintendo aint infringing copyright, Nintendos Joy Con is a propitiatory device only designed to work on the Switch where as Gamevices device is a add on for a mobile phone, the only thing the have in common is that they snap onto something else
plus they already lost the case once so it's futile to try again
@ThanosReXXX that was my point, with cartridge being more expensive it's more likely that publishers will "cheap out" and go for whatever is cheapest which in this case is going for the cheapest versions and putting the rest as a download
and i agree people buy physical for a reason, for me as a gamer and a collector i buy physical to not only have a collection BUT to also have a product i can see and touch
not to mention legacy, i know in the future a physical copy of a game i don't have but might want will still be around but that can't be said for a digital one, once it's taken off the storefronts it's gone for good
now i get digital has it's pluses (although mostly i just hear "it's so convenient not having to get up and swap a disc" which just strikes me as laziness) but to me it will always be physical over digital
i LOVE this game, i still have the N64 Original but if i can get not only a remastered version but a version i can play on the go then i'm there day one
@Toy_Link we don't want it to die, we want it to be better, the plans they had for this years were a dumpster fire of an event, we don't want to see celebrities or influencers running around, we just want the games releasing this year and of course the new game announcements (and console info too)
@OorWullie same here, i never have understood it and i probably never will
i also have a similar story with my niece, i was playing a game that i got a little late and my brother was round my house with his kids and while i was playing she started to say how she had already seen this on youtube and she was about to blert out what was going to happen when i said to her that if she said one more word about it then she would never be allowed to speak in my house again

Re: Newcomers Can Break Final Fantasy VII Remake With New Difficulty Settings
could be fun if i'm in a "destroy everything and be god" mood
cheats can be fun when you just want to mess around in a game

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 For Switch?
I will be once the physical edition actually can be pre-ordered in the UK
it's not up on the Nintendo Store (and yes i know it's on eShop but that's digital, i want the Physical version) yet nor Amazon
Re: Virtual Boy Is Being Added To Nintendo Switch Online
Just got my pre-order in
no i don't care what others think i think it's neat
Re: Virtual Boy Is Being Added To Nintendo Switch Online
Honestly never played the Virtual Boy but always wanted to give it a go
i might actually buy that thing as long as they DON'T make it a limited release like they tend to especially as it's required for the games
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Has Been Officially Confirmed For Switch 2
now we just need Resi 2 and 3make that way all the mainline Resi games will be available natively on Switch
(Yes 4 Remake would be cool too)

Re: Here's A First Look At Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge Physical Switch Release
@link3710 i hope so as i can't buy from LRGames
Re: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Scores A Physical Switch Release, Pre-Orders Open Later This Week

Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection Pre-Orders Go Live, Box Art Also Revealed
@stuntz0rZ i guess the UK one will go live in the next few days then
That's normally what happens
Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection Pre-Orders Go Live, Box Art Also Revealed
Just checked Amazon UK and it ain't there
Unless it's only live on Amazon US at the moment 🤔

Like i said in my previous post, the guy in charge of Square right now is a muppet and he needs to go before he kills the company
Re: Square Enix Details Current Issues And Future Of New Switch Racer Chocobo GP
I know a way to help Square fix their games
Get rid of the muppet in charge who thinks, mobile and live service games are what the players want and get in someone who understands their audience
Re: Konami Announces Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection For Switch
Physical release!!!!!
Well i was going to get it anyway but that just made me want it even more
Re: Uh-Oh, Chocobo GP's Season Pass Is Ruffling A Few Feathers With Fans
Seriously i swear the people currently running Square Enix are a bunch of muppets
Some of the decisions they have been making are mind-bogglingy stupid
Re: Square Enix Releases "Day 1 Patch" For Kingdom Hearts' Cloud Versions On Switch
Seriously they beed to get rid of the moron running Square right now, he is running it into the ground with all these stupid decisions
KH on Switch Cloud version only
No FF Pixel Remasters on console even though Square themselves said that's where the biggest portion of the FF fanbase is
NFT's
Seriously get this prat out of there before you end up like Konami Square
Re: French Retailer Lists Batman: Arkham Collection For Switch
Nah, i can see Asylum and City, maybe even Origins but i doubt the Switch could run Knight, not without significant work involved
Re: Star Wars: KOTOR Is Receiving A Limited Run Games Physical Release On Switch
I think I'll wait and see if THQ release a version layer like they did with the other Star Wars games
In the mean time i still have my original Physical XBOX and P.C versions

Re: Random: Uh-Oh, Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack - Overview Trailer' Is Generating A Lot Of Dislikes
@WhiteUmbrella well i never said anything about the age or quality of the games all i said was both do the same thing, pay a sub and play games
But i also mentioned PS+ which is still more expensive per year than this is
Also lets go back to the 360 where you payed £40 a year just to play online
The point i was trying to make is people have paid more for less or similar
Re: Random: Uh-Oh, Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack - Overview Trailer' Is Generating A Lot Of Dislikes
Hold on it's £35 a year, offers oine play and a vast ammount of classic titles to play from the NES, SNES N64 and Mega Drive and this is a bad thing?
People will pay £120+ per year for game pass or £60 a year for PS+ which offers basically the same kind if thing or less but they are happy with that
People are odd
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The "Cloud Versions" Of Kingdom Hearts On Switch?

Re: Dragon Quest X Offline Has Been Confirmed For Switch, Launches In Japan Next February
Needs a western release
Also Square need to do this with FFXI too
Re: Feature: Tackling A Timey Wimey Virus In Doctor Who: The Edge Of Reality
My only question is, "is it getting a physical release or is it digital only?"
Re: Aspyr Is Bringing The Classic BioWare RPG Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic To Switch
Big question will this also be getting a physical release like the other Aspyr released Star Wars games are getting?
Re: THQ Nordic Appears To Be Releasing Star Wars Double Packs
Well i already have them digitally on PS4 but i would still buy them physically on Switch
"they will make a fine addition to my collection"
Re: Latest Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Trailer Shows New And Returning Features
You know i s till don't understand why people are getting so hung up over the "chibi" characters that's how it was on the DS original too
Re: Video: Here's Another Look At Dragon Ball: Kakarot Running On Switch
@Drommajin well i pre-ordered the physical release the other day and there was no mention of any downloading but i can't say 100% it won't have some
Re: Video: Here's Zelda: Twilight Princess Running On An Xbox Series X
That has to be fake because no one can get a Series X 😏
Re: Jump Force Deluxe Edition Arrives On Switch This August
@tourjeff did you ever play One Piece Burning Blood because it's basically a reskin of that, the One Piece characters even use the same animations for all their attacks

Re: Gamevice Is Back With New Patent-Infringement Complaint Against Nintendo, Wants To Block US Switch Sales
@TheFox that's OK Nintendo would just make the Switch Lite the exclusive model in America so they still wouldn't get eff all off them
Re: Nintendo To Remaster 'Most Of Super Mario’s 35-Year Catalogue' For Switch in 2020, New Report Says
well that's an instant buy if that's true
Re: Buying BioShock, Borderlands Or XCOM Physically? Expect Huge Download Requirements

that's the issue with using carts as your consoles game medium i suppose

Re: Nintendo Shuts Down Kickstarter Campaign Over Animal Crossing Copyright Infringement
@Noid that's why the legal system has no room for morals, you know the old saying "the law is the law, break it and pay the price"
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #34 - Perfect Dark
the EU one, the American one is almost as good but i think the EU one packs more of a punch
but the Japanese one doesn't feel right for the game, it's a good box art but it feels more like a survival horror game not a FPS
Re: Random: Twitter Almost Thought 2B From NieR: Automata Was Confirmed For Smash
Of course it is Twitter after all
Since when does anyone on Twitter actually check facts anymore?
Place is a dumpster fire just like Facebook
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 14th)
Just Tales of Vesperia this weekend
Re: Square Enix "Exploring Other Options" To Share Its Games, Now That E3 2020 Has Been Axed
well Square Enix Japan does live streams all the time to show of and announce new games and stuff
i imagine they will just do something like that instead
Re: Talking Point: Has Coronavirus Finally Put E3 Out Of Its Misery?
@Toy_Link we don't want it to die, we want it to be better, the plans they had for this years were a dumpster fire of an event, we don't want to see celebrities or influencers running around, we just want the games releasing this year and of course the new game announcements (and console info too)
