@arronishere even going from Aliens Colonial Marines to mobile would be a step down
the mobile market is the poster boy for all that's wrong in gaming nowadays from microtransactions to an over saturation of cheap knock off games, it's like the early 80's all over again
@Jazzer94 that's possible but I'm just going on the info I can find and with MS and Nintendo not releasing worldwide sales numbers it's hard to know for sure
@TingLz yeah the XB1 is selling faster and I have no doubt it will over take the Wii U (if it hasn't already) but like I said it's hard to know when they don't release the worldwide sakes numbers Nintendo only seems to care about sales numbers in Japan and MS only seem to care about sales numbers in America and without full numbers it's hard to paint a proper picture
@Jazzer94 while it's true that more than 10 million XB1's have been SHIPPED to stores it's estermated only about 7 million have been sold to consumers, it not know the exact number because MS won't release them
Nintendo has sold more Wii U's to consumers than MS have XB1's but MS have shipped more to stores while that might count as a sale for MS (MS sells to the retailer) there are still less XB1's in peoples homes than Wii U's (at least for now)
Adavanced Warfare was boring anyway so Nintendo gamers didn't miss much
still if it is coming it's a good sign for Nintendo, while some people may hate CoD it's still a huge franchise and you need big franchises to keep your system going
@Quorthon the latest PS4 update let's you back up all your data, profiles, saves, installed games etc etc to an external HDD so you can replace your current internal one with a new one
to be fair there would have been no problem if he didn't offer it for download, he should have just used a video as a proof on concept
offering up what you do not own as a download even free is illeagl, whether you intend to make money off it or not you are distributing a copyrighted ip you have no ownership of or right of distribution
Nintendo are well within their rights to take it down and they should take it down it's their ip and they have a right to protect it
if parents of kids who play games like cod actualy bothered to use the parental controls the systems have, then they wouldn't be able to play them anyway
@Inkling now Microsoft owns it that's never going to happen, I rekon the only reason it's still on playstation is because it had already been released on there by the time MS brought it
this is the closest Nintendo will ever get to Minecraft now
@Icarus423 oh I agree they shouldn't make it just for third partys but just reliying on their own games isn't working, just look at the WiiU now I love the WiiU but it doesn't get many games through the year
I just don't want to see Nintendo fail and go the way of Sega Nintendo was my childhood and if that means they have to make their console more like the PS4 & XB1 and more friendly to third partys I'll be ok with that
I'm all for new experiances but it also has to be friendly to third partys, no point in having a system that will surprise us if it doesn't have any games
I'm not sure I like the idea of Nintendo IP's on mobile, I think mobile gaming is a blight on the industry so much shovelware and freemium crap and clones of other games it's like the atari 2600 generation all over again and we all know what happened there
I never thought the score system was needed because all we need to know is if it's good or bad besides what makes a game a 6 rather than a 5 and the 100% score is even worse I mean what's the difference between a 96% and a 97%?
I think a system like this would be better
Excellent
Great
Good
Bad
Avoid
we don't need to know anything else and numbers don't really tell you anything
you know I think Zelda is one of Nintendos franchises that could actually work in a live action setting, as long as it's done right and keeps to the lore and rules of the series
I also think Metroid could work as a live action series too
@Jaz007 oh your allowed to sell the disc and the box those you own but the data on the disc you don't
one of the ways to get round it though is to say that the game sale is a contract and reselling is transfering the contract from one person to another that's another way stores get away with reselling
but unauthorized monetized broadcasts such as let's plays are still technically illegal, it's esentially the same as setting up a projector in the street and charging people to watch a dvd
@Jaz007 @ZenTurtle thing is at the moment the whole thing is a bit of a grey area over what they can do and what they should do, you see they could crack down on everyone like a tonne of bricks but it would do serious damage to them as a company as well so there has to be a bit of give and take but all I'm saying Nintendo along with every other game developer and publisher are well within their rights to do this kind of thing if they want
is it a consumer friedly thing to do...no but they have the right to do it to their property if they want to
@Jaz007 they don't stop it for many reasons the main one being because they need places like gamestop for example to distribute their new games, it's a give and take relationship and aparently it doesn't actually cause as much of an impact on game sales as people think it does
this was also the reason many publishers started with the online pass as a way to control the used game market and make some money back from it
also for the license transfering when sold the was a legal case a few years ago when someone tried to leave the iTunes collection to his family when he died but apple said it was illegal due to the EULA they went to court and apple won because the person in question never actually owned the content thus he could not transfer it (I know it's music in this case but the EULA is the same for games)
@BlatantlyHeroic well it is a life time license but the sad thing is that's how it works and it's the same with every game, film, tv show, song and book you have ever brought and ever will buy in the future
@ZenTurtle actually it's not theirs to do with what they want check the End-user license agreement that comes with every game, what you buy is a license to use the content you don't buy it to own it the game is only ever owned by the publishers and/or developers
broadcasting (including things like reviews and let's plays), redistribution (such as trade-in's and reselling), monetizing and reverse engineering are all actually illegal
yeah it's not really a nice thing to do but what people need to understand is that your not actually allowed to make money from broadcasting games, it's in every games terms and conditions no matter what system it's on because we don't actually own the games we buy what we buy is a license to personaly use the software, the game it's self is owned by the publishers and developers it's why selling used games is also technically illegal
yeah publishers have let this slide in the past but every single one of them is legaly allowed to stop you making money from content you don't own
@andreoni79 if you start to download then switch off the system and unplug it the download data becomes corrupted and has to deleted and re-downloaded (I know this because I did it once)
you can do standby downloads but you can't turn it off

loved it on Wii U and I'm sure I'll love it on 3DS too
Re: Latest Wii U System Update Removes TVii On European Consoles, Piles On Stability Elsewhere
should have replaced it with a live streaming app like Twitch or UStream so we could live stream our Wii U games like we can on PS4 and XB1

at least they tried to make a Wii U version, unlike a lot of these so call "AAA" company's who just say "we can't make a Wii U version"
Re: Gawk at the Dragon Quest VIII Promotional Poster and Screens
I'm still hopeful and also still hopeful that we will get DS/3DS versions of DQ I-III as well because controls on tablets don't suit the games at all
Re: Video: The Game Theorists Tackle That Vital Star Fox Question - What's With the Metal Legs?
well it would never be about G-Forces anyway because the Arwing has a G-Diffuser that negates G-Forces on the pilots anyway
Re: Doctor Who Confirmed For Lego Dimensions On Wii U
@Captain_Gonru I reckon they will just keep rolling out new sets, they would make more money that way I think
Re: Doctor Who Confirmed For Lego Dimensions On Wii U
well I doubt Star Trek as Lego don't have the Star Trek licence, Kre-o do
Re: Producer Of The Mario Kart Series Appointed As Head Of Nintendo’s Mobile Development Division
@Octane true there is some good but they are so hard to find in the sea of c*** that makes up 90% of the mobile gaming market

Re: Analyst Thinks Nintendo Is Already Winding Down Wii U Ahead Of Nintendo NX Launch
still has more sales than the XB1 so it's not that bad
still the main problem I think is most just see it as an updated Wii and look at it in the same way they do with the 3DS and '' NEW'' 3DS
but I'm not dissapointed, I love my Wii U and am looking forward to info about the NX (whatever that ends up being)
