Re: Reminder: It's Time To Rate Your Switch 1 & 2 Games Of The Year

Donkey Kong Bonanza is the best game I played this year that wasn't a rerelease or upgrade. Kind of a weak year for Switch releases. Given how much of the Switch library has been Wii U ports and remasters, the lack of new original content this year is pretty disappointing. Of course if Mario Kart World and Metroid Prime 4 are 10s instead of 8s perhaps I feel differently.

Re: Review: System Shock (Switch 2) - Performance Woes Tarnish A Classic

Perhaps you should review the game with the day 1 patch since that's how the public will actually play it. That being said, performance issues are so overblown most the time. I was just reading up on the Turok trilogy remake, and just for fun went back and watched some of the N64 videos of the game. Amazing fun at low frame rates. Having just played the SS2 remake, this is not doom. The slow methodical pace of the game should minimize the impact of the performance issues from a gameplay standpoint.

Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?

@Lazz the distance between the save or respawn point and the boss was my biggest issue with the first game, and ultimately why I dropped it. I don't mind playing a tough boss many times but don't make me trek through 60 seconds of level to make me try again. Sounds like this wasn't addressed in the sequel. Its funny because I find Dark Souls/Elden Ring to be really satisfying, but found Hollow Knight to just be incredibly frustrating.

Re: "I Can't Afford To Give It Away For Free" - Silksong's Low Price Is Causing Devs To Re-Evaluate Their Own Games

I appreciate the price of the game, but given the hype and fanbase, seems like they probably could have made more money at a 29.99 price point. That still seems like a value and I doubt they'd be selling that much fewer copies. Regarding the small dev complaints... As someone else mentioned... You can't always make a living doing what you love. There's the rare exception but most individuals cannot make games for a living by themselves. I'd love to paint for a living but I know it ain't happening.

Re: Review: EA SPORTS Madden NFL 26 (Switch 2) - EA's Gridiron Series Finally Plays Ball On A Switch Console

@gazamataz it must be the new generation. I've skipped Madden for many years now, but going back to PS3 and prior, I don't think any of them ran better than 30fps. 8 can't imagine what these games would think of anything on N64, which regularly went sub 30. It's actually amazing how well you adjust going from 60 to 30 after mere minutes of play. We'd all like 60, but 30 is perfectly playable for everything outside of F-Zero type games.
