@Kieroni this is exactly what my initial thought was. The people using her work may not of known where it had come from, perhaps thinking it was old unused Capcom assets. Perhaps someone uploads the CD, leaves the company, and others don't realize it was copyrighted material. Either way, Capcom will pay, though probably just a fraction of the 12 million when it's all settled.
Sure looks like the same texture in the example. Pretty lame if they did this illegally... Ditto on ripping off monster designs if that's true as well.
Switch Pro will support Zelda BotW 1080p 60fps but will have to buy a remastered copy of the game for 60 dollars. Nothing to announce for BotW2 or Metroid. 45 minute trailer for the new Mario Golf. Jared Goff, new Detroit Lions quarterback, announced for Smash.
Only some of the classics... Played the original DQ trilogy multiple times. Played FF 1 though 9 multiple times, as well as CT. In recent memory, double dipped on Xenoblade and Dark Souls when they rereleased on Switch. Disappointed Dark Souls 2 was never ported... It's not a classic but I would have given it another whirl on Switch. In most cases, there are too many good games to warrant replaying old ones, but classics are classics and nostalgia sometimes wins the day, particularly for old school JRPGs, where new releases are few and far between, and of suspect quality.
@Crono1973 final fantasy 15 had no female playable characters, at least at launch. Haven't followed the games post launch development so I could be wrong.
@Darknyht I also love the original trilogy. Don't get me wrong, XI was fine, but something about the older titles just takes me back to a simpler time and all is good.
I've played 1,2,3,8,9, and 11. I'd love to play the rest but don't really feel like digging out a DS and overpaying for them online. A rerelease would be day 1 for me.
Add to the list of franchises Nintendo is ignoring. F-Zero, 1080, Wave Race, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Pilot Wings, and the list goes on, but hey, they'll add more obscure characters to Smash so weeeee!
I played this 20 years ago on PS2 and didn't care for it. I tried Persona 3 on PS Vita last year and didn't like it. This universe/series/whatever it is is not for me.
Never got around to Origins so this is great news. Baten Kaitos us among the best RPGs of that generation. Now if someone would do something with the xenosaga /xenogears trademark...
I've played extensively on Switch. It's playable but not optimal. I've had good games in cross play. It's a far cry for the Series S version I also play, but not really that far off from the PS4 version as I recall. The biggest issue I have with it is the crashing and bugs and the fact that cross play voice chat doesn't work at all with seemingly no fix in sight.
It might be controversial to say, but I for one would welcome more RPG elements into the Zelda games. I will be interesting seeing what kind of mark, if any, Monolith leaves on the series.
I'm always confused, should I hate corporations for stuff like this or "like" them for their incessant virtue signaling? Question, why do the shareholders allow for stuff like this?
I have game pass. I barely use it. A lot of games I opt for on Switch for portability. I do prefer the F2P games on Xbox like Apex Legends but those do not require game pass. The idea of Game Pass is cool but I also like owning things.
This game is very good. The writing is not especially funny.. I would just call it more lighthearted. If you're looking for a serious story about gods and monsters this is not it. I will have to boot it up and see what "performance improvements" we're really made. I find that it performed pretty solidly in handheld but chugged a bit when docked.
Preserve your own physical purchases because as gaming moves to a more subscription-based model, you will never really own anything and what is or isn't available to you will be the decisions of MS, Sony, Nintendo, or I suppose Google. I like Game Pass from Microsoft but I'm fully aware that what's there today might not be there tomorrow.
Lost Odyssey was one of the last great JRPGs in the tradition of a classic Final Fantasy title. It is my favorite RPG from that generation of games. Too bad the company seemingly disappeared from console game development not long after.
I have a handful of N64 classics cart only, but sold everything from NES and SNES except for my Ogre Battle cartridge. I also had some PSX classics but remakes and remasters have kind of ruined their market value over the years.
Sounds like this is completely unrelated to the main game? I'm 30 hours in and enjoy this game a lot. Not sure I need more though, main game is quite long.
Looks a little generic. The PT demo was fine but I don't really get the cult status it has gained over the years. Silent Hill 2 will always be my favorite horror game.
I just started Immortals Fenix Rising today on Switch. Have no idea how it compares to other platforms but it runs smooth and is perfectly playable. Whatever compromises were made didn't affect the playability of the game. If the compromises impact playability, then maybe the game shouldn't be on the Switch platform. I love Apex but I can't imagine playing it without the ability to spot enemies at distance. I can live with 30 fps as I lived through the PSOne and N64 era, but I can't live with a game not playable as it was originally intended.
@Zeldafan79 it's a bad game. Avoid it not because it's simple, but rather because it's not fun. Super Mario Rpg is a great example of a really great simple RPG.
Disappointed the screen will only be 720p. I feel like the handheld screen as is holds the switch back quite a bit. Maybe this one will at least be a little bigger. I expect a very modest upgrade.
I don't get the score... You'd think having lawnmowers in the game would warrant at least a 6 or 7, even with the other minor issues. Whatever, can't cancel my preorder now.
@Deady weird. There were certain games from that era where the music literally hurts my ears. Also, played Rygar when I was home sick as a kid, to this day the thought of the game makes me queasy.
To me it is the best the series offers. Puzzles, dungeon design, overworld, music... It was the template for "traditional" zelda games for 2 decades and arguably was never bested. I look forward to Zelda continuing with the new template Breath of the Wild setup.
This article makes me want to play A Link Between Worlds... I missed it upon initial release so hoping it gets the HD treatment some time in the future.

Re: Random: Fortnite's Ska Dance Emote Foreshadows A Ska Revival
Streetlight Manifesto is about the only ska band I like. Buck O Nine was okay back in the day, but Less Than Jake isn't listened to by this old dude.
