OLED releasing in October likely crippled September sales. Still, the system could use a facelift and I'm not sure the OLED will cut it. It's definitely approaching dated from a hardware standpoint. Hopefully Nintendo is prepping something new and just waiting until supply chain issues are resolved to make an announcement.

Would love a translation. While they're at it, would love some ports of 4 through 8 as well.

Oh, and while I'm ranting, add voice chat lobbies FFS.

@ballistic90 or just don't include Sega games. I would much prefer Nintendo's catalog only at a lower price.

N64 had some great games but the generation was plagued with issues related to primitive 3D graphics and controls. I'm not sure many of the games have aged particularly well. I'd be willing to drop 50 bones if they were offering periodic free games like PS Plus and Xbox Live, but certainly won't for the ability to play a handful of N64 and Genesis games with little to no enhancements.

@mystman12 great comment. Much of the "free content" on YouTube is trash. The egg opening videos have literally no value. Many parents use tablets as a "baby sitter" so they can scroll through their social media feeds uninterrupted by their crying kids. What goes around comes around. A parent addicted to their phone will raise kids addicted to their tablets, phones, devices, etc. Many devices for kids have built in features that limit screen time that I'm sure the parents haven't activated much less even been bothered to read about.

Gaming actually keeps kids safe because it is a great alternative to drinking, drugs, partying, etc. The fact that modern games are more social in nature only further helps that, because they no longer isolate the player by nature. Gaming kept me out of trouble throughout my youth and university years. "Pandemic" is going to be the new buzz word used to demonize and change behavior. We have real pandemics of course, but this is utter nonsense.

Looks good but hoping to see a deep sale. 40 bones seems a bit high.

Maybe will be a surprise release when more Prime 4 details are revealed? Need to give me time to play the trilogy properly before prime 4 so hoping it's sooner than later. I've only played Prime 3 and would love this chance to play them all in HD.

I have a 15 year old plasma tv in my basement with no burn in. I think we will be fine. I feel like the early screens that had burn in issues were running cable news and weather 24-7 at airports, waiting rooms, etc. The average user never had major problems.

Makes me want to go finish the first Switch release. Spent 60 hours in it, enjoyed it immensely, but eventually moved on before completing it. This game looks good but something about the camera angle bugs me, as it did with VIII.... I think I prefer my Us with the old fashioned top-down camera.

Well since it's the same switch, why wouldn't it work? 🤔

Looks like a new color of the existing switch. I'm disappointed but might still get it because I've been kicking around the idea of getting a second switch for awhile now.

I got Mario golf for motion control. I just started but the story mode seems to want to force me to use button controls?

I had the original on DS and it just didn't click with me. Will likely pass here unless it gets some amazing reviews upon release.

This looks amazing, adding to my wish list. 15 hours is a little on the short end but I couldn't trek through the 60 hours of Hollow Knight so actually kind of excited for a shorter experience in the genre.

@AvianBlue you're talking perceived value. The public perceive the value of one chicken sandwich as higher than another. The actual quality is probably much closer than one might think. Same situation with Metroid. Is it twice as good as Hollow Knight? Probably not, but you're going to pay for it as if it is.

The issue is every new game in that genre is in the 20 dollar to 40 dollar range. I will still get the game, but it does seem a bit high compared to similar titles. On the other hand, I have no idea of the length and content. Maybe it warrants it, but if it clocks in at 20 to 30 hours, I think 40 or 50 bones is a better price point.

The e3 trailer was nice. The trailer from this games original reveal left much to be desired but now I'm actually looking forward to it.

I was underwhelmed across the board, outside a couple new Bethesda IPs, both of which are far off, sequels and remakes across the board. How Forza can excite anyone at this point is beyond me.

I've never heard of this game. Reviews seem pretty average.

Is prime 4 still a game or is Metroid dread what Retro has been working on? Zelda and Metroid look good. SMT5 and Fatal Frame look good. Otherwise wasn't blown away.

I'd rather drink a glass of dirt water, would be healthier.

@AtlanteanMan I think that Switch has been particularly great for those of us, and there are many, that skipped the Wii U. I am still, however, disappointed with the lack of new software so I'm really hoping for some big announcements this week.

I want to see a lot from Nintendo this year. If they're not announcing a revision to the Switch anytime soon, they better have one hell of a line up they've been working on for awhile. Metroid Prime 4 and Zelda BotW2 are the only big games we are aware of (I suppose Splatoon 3 as well if that's your thing).

Streetlight Manifesto is about the only ska band I like. Buck O Nine was okay back in the day, but Less Than Jake isn't listened to by this old dude.

@Kieroni this is exactly what my initial thought was. The people using her work may not of known where it had come from, perhaps thinking it was old unused Capcom assets. Perhaps someone uploads the CD, leaves the company, and others don't realize it was copyrighted material. Either way, Capcom will pay, though probably just a fraction of the 12 million when it's all settled.

Sure looks like the same texture in the example. Pretty lame if they did this illegally... Ditto on ripping off monster designs if that's true as well.

Switch Pro will support Zelda BotW 1080p 60fps but will have to buy a remastered copy of the game for 60 dollars. Nothing to announce for BotW2 or Metroid. 45 minute trailer for the new Mario Golf. Jared Goff, new Detroit Lions quarterback, announced for Smash.

Only some of the classics... Played the original DQ trilogy multiple times. Played FF 1 though 9 multiple times, as well as CT. In recent memory, double dipped on Xenoblade and Dark Souls when they rereleased on Switch. Disappointed Dark Souls 2 was never ported... It's not a classic but I would have given it another whirl on Switch. In most cases, there are too many good games to warrant replaying old ones, but classics are classics and nostalgia sometimes wins the day, particularly for old school JRPGs, where new releases are few and far between, and of suspect quality.

@Crono1973 final fantasy 15 had no female playable characters, at least at launch. Haven't followed the games post launch development so I could be wrong.

@Darknyht I also love the original trilogy. Don't get me wrong, XI was fine, but something about the older titles just takes me back to a simpler time and all is good.

I've played 1,2,3,8,9, and 11. I'd love to play the rest but don't really feel like digging out a DS and overpaying for them online. A rerelease would be day 1 for me.

Add to the list of franchises Nintendo is ignoring. F-Zero, 1080, Wave Race, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Pilot Wings, and the list goes on, but hey, they'll add more obscure characters to Smash so weeeee!

Too bad, first is one of the better horror games in recent history. It's hard to devote time and money to something that is just okay.

I played this 20 years ago on PS2 and didn't care for it. I tried Persona 3 on PS Vita last year and didn't like it. This universe/series/whatever it is is not for me.

Champions of Norrath was another great arpg from that era. Think I will pass on a rerelease though.

Never got around to Origins so this is great news. Baten Kaitos us among the best RPGs of that generation. Now if someone would do something with the xenosaga /xenogears trademark...

IGN is the worst.

I've played extensively on Switch. It's playable but not optimal. I've had good games in cross play. It's a far cry for the Series S version I also play, but not really that far off from the PS4 version as I recall. The biggest issue I have with it is the crashing and bugs and the fact that cross play voice chat doesn't work at all with seemingly no fix in sight.

It might be controversial to say, but I for one would welcome more RPG elements into the Zelda games. I will be interesting seeing what kind of mark, if any, Monolith leaves on the series.

How old would a kid need to be to understand and play this game? Looks interesting...

I really need to finish this game. Dropped 80 hours into it a couple years ago but haven't returned.

People collect because owning a tangible asset is cool. Digital assets suck. I'm old.

Monster Hunter Rise, Apex Legends, and maybe some Immortals Fenix Rising and Cross Code.

Undertale was not my cup of tea. This is a hard pass.
