Whatever part of the soundtrack Yasunori Mitsuda did I'm sure is phenomenal, but goodness gracious that voice acting is atrocious. Outside of Xenoblade, I just don't think anyone is willing to fund a great JRPG anymore. It's sad all these games have such low budgets.

I will tune in when J.D. Roth is hosting. Otherwise, it's rubbish.

This game was solid. Like a lot of N64 games, underrated at the time.

Looks good, will keep an eye on this one. Still need to play the real Metroid first.

Deaths Door and the League spinoff will be added to my wishlist. This month, I picked up some older games on sale, namely Hob and Pillars of Eternity. Hob, so far, is excellent - best couple bucks I've spent on the eShop this year for sure.

I had a pair of these from last year's holiday season. Nice pads from a "feel" standpoint, but my left stick developed terrible drift after about 6 months. I much prefer the analogs on these to the Joy Cons but can't justify a new pair every 6 months. EDIT: And actually, it wasn't so much drift, but the stick would just be unresponsive for 1 or 2 seconds at a time. I'd be running in Apex Legends and just stop for a second here and there. Might've been a connectivity issue but no issues with my original Joy Cons on the same switch so who knows.

Looks like Hob with bad art. I'll wait for reviews.

The company is going to fold, which will likely hurt the very people we want to help more than the top brass that will drift away into the sunset with golden parachutes. My opinion is I don't want to hear PR from one of Activision's partners (i.e. Sony, MS, Nintendo). Either drop their games or keep selling them on their platforms. That's the decision they have. It's not that difficult. Run your business the way you want to run it and let the stakeholders decide if you succeed or fail. Most consumers probably don't care about any of this, as they regularly support, without even blinking, companies with human rights violations up and down their supply chains.

My favorite in the series without question. I always think of OoT as ALttP in 3D. Both great, but the first always is the best. Subsequent Zelda games have been hit or miss with me, with Breath of the Wild finally reinventing the formula enough to make it feel magical again.

Any word on when this goes live stateside?

Will those of us that skipped the Wii U ever get Xenoblade X or is this our eternal punishment for not buying one?

@Pod If true, that should be in the article to give context to the size of the walkout. Many will read 150 people but not realize how many FTEs the company actually has. Not defending the CEO, but wondering why completely relevant information is often missing from news stories.

I dream of a day people return to physical games, arcades, shopping malls, and records. Digital is fine and convenient, but nothing replaces a physical asset. I can't fathom why anyone would buy a non fungible token besides those interested in volatile investments. That being said, I'm sure there is something about them that is appealing, but I don't know what it is and I don't really care to.

And only 10,000 people play Mario Golf each month. I'm earning the unlock each month in just a couple rounds of play.

I will wait for a sale... 15 hours is pretty short for this type of game at full price.

My kids absolutely love Lego City Undercover ... Is this game more like that or more like Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 where there really isn't an open world? Looking to get something new for them but they never really got into this games sequel.

I've been playing a lot of Tetris 99 but I should probably invest in Tetris Connect, as I find it impossible to win in Tetris 99 anymore. I finished Ni Ni Kuni 1 last week and started the SNES version of Trials of Mana via the Mana collection this week. Overall, that series doesn't really hold up to the greats of that era, but is still solid, so I will probably at least finish the 3rd game of the collection.

The game was okay on N64, what with all the new game droughts that console had, but wouldn't pass nowadays as there are too many outstanding 2D platform games available. Might be of interest for gaming history buffs that missed it initially and at least it can be completed quickly.

While Sunshine, Galaxy, and Odyssey are all good games, nothing has yet captured the magic of Mario 64, probably because we will never make anything similar to the 2D to 3D jump again. It was captivating for a kid in that era to see Mario in full 3D and experience analog controls. An almost perfect game, but I would like to see the series redefine itself, much like with BotW did for Zelda. I'm not sure if an open world is the answer, but something to recapture some of that magic of playing something "new" which Mario 64 had in spades.

@Hero-of-WiiU Trying to remember, but I think you started from the beginning each time you loaded it. Replay came from mastering the levels and taking different paths to the end.

OLED releasing in October likely crippled September sales. Still, the system could use a facelift and I'm not sure the OLED will cut it. It's definitely approaching dated from a hardware standpoint. Hopefully Nintendo is prepping something new and just waiting until supply chain issues are resolved to make an announcement.

Would love a translation. While they're at it, would love some ports of 4 through 8 as well.

Oh, and while I'm ranting, add voice chat lobbies FFS.

N64 had some great games but the generation was plagued with issues related to primitive 3D graphics and controls. I'm not sure many of the games have aged particularly well. I'd be willing to drop 50 bones if they were offering periodic free games like PS Plus and Xbox Live, but certainly won't for the ability to play a handful of N64 and Genesis games with little to no enhancements.

@mystman12 great comment. Much of the "free content" on YouTube is trash. The egg opening videos have literally no value. Many parents use tablets as a "baby sitter" so they can scroll through their social media feeds uninterrupted by their crying kids. What goes around comes around. A parent addicted to their phone will raise kids addicted to their tablets, phones, devices, etc. Many devices for kids have built in features that limit screen time that I'm sure the parents haven't activated much less even been bothered to read about.

Gaming actually keeps kids safe because it is a great alternative to drinking, drugs, partying, etc. The fact that modern games are more social in nature only further helps that, because they no longer isolate the player by nature. Gaming kept me out of trouble throughout my youth and university years. "Pandemic" is going to be the new buzz word used to demonize and change behavior. We have real pandemics of course, but this is utter nonsense.

Maybe will be a surprise release when more Prime 4 details are revealed? Need to give me time to play the trilogy properly before prime 4 so hoping it's sooner than later. I've only played Prime 3 and would love this chance to play them all in HD.

I have a 15 year old plasma tv in my basement with no burn in. I think we will be fine. I feel like the early screens that had burn in issues were running cable news and weather 24-7 at airports, waiting rooms, etc. The average user never had major problems.

Makes me want to go finish the first Switch release. Spent 60 hours in it, enjoyed it immensely, but eventually moved on before completing it. This game looks good but something about the camera angle bugs me, as it did with VIII.... I think I prefer my Us with the old fashioned top-down camera.

Well since it's the same switch, why wouldn't it work? 🤔

Looks like a new color of the existing switch. I'm disappointed but might still get it because I've been kicking around the idea of getting a second switch for awhile now.

I got Mario golf for motion control. I just started but the story mode seems to want to force me to use button controls?

I had the original on DS and it just didn't click with me. Will likely pass here unless it gets some amazing reviews upon release.

This looks amazing, adding to my wish list. 15 hours is a little on the short end but I couldn't trek through the 60 hours of Hollow Knight so actually kind of excited for a shorter experience in the genre.

@AvianBlue you're talking perceived value. The public perceive the value of one chicken sandwich as higher than another. The actual quality is probably much closer than one might think. Same situation with Metroid. Is it twice as good as Hollow Knight? Probably not, but you're going to pay for it as if it is.

The issue is every new game in that genre is in the 20 dollar to 40 dollar range. I will still get the game, but it does seem a bit high compared to similar titles. On the other hand, I have no idea of the length and content. Maybe it warrants it, but if it clocks in at 20 to 30 hours, I think 40 or 50 bones is a better price point.

The e3 trailer was nice. The trailer from this games original reveal left much to be desired but now I'm actually looking forward to it.

I was underwhelmed across the board, outside a couple new Bethesda IPs, both of which are far off, sequels and remakes across the board. How Forza can excite anyone at this point is beyond me.

I've never heard of this game. Reviews seem pretty average.

Is prime 4 still a game or is Metroid dread what Retro has been working on? Zelda and Metroid look good. SMT5 and Fatal Frame look good. Otherwise wasn't blown away.

I'd rather drink a glass of dirt water, would be healthier.

@AtlanteanMan I think that Switch has been particularly great for those of us, and there are many, that skipped the Wii U. I am still, however, disappointed with the lack of new software so I'm really hoping for some big announcements this week.

I want to see a lot from Nintendo this year. If they're not announcing a revision to the Switch anytime soon, they better have one hell of a line up they've been working on for awhile. Metroid Prime 4 and Zelda BotW2 are the only big games we are aware of (I suppose Splatoon 3 as well if that's your thing).
