I want to be excited for this game but I'm really not. I also still need to play the AOC DLC so this game will go on the "eventually" list for when I have time for it. (I'll definitely get to it someday though with it being a Zelda game and all)
I've already pre-ordered the game on the eshop. First time I've ever done that but unfortunately the "physical" is a key card which I refuse to buy. I've been wanting this game ever since it was first announced so I'll make an exception and get it digitally for full price.
Price should never be a factor in a review. You don't know how much someone paid for the product, they could've gotten it for free as a gift in which case it's completely irrelevant.
That being said it's difficult reviewing two 10/10 games if you try to factor in people who've played them before and expect new content, with the price possibly factoring into that setting expectations. But ultimately it's up to each person to decide for themselves whether they deem the product worth the price, with the review outlining the product.
@AussieMcBucket @Daniel36 I get what you're saying and obviously the games are what it's all about. But when it comes to a collection like this the games will all already have individual reviews you can look up. At that point just apply the score of the highest reviewed game to the collection as that's the best it will get with everything else being a bonus. Obviously barring any emulation/performance issues. In that case the score makes sense.
The reason I said the score was unfair is because I don't think it gives justice to the competency of the collection itself. A 4 is a failing grade which means the collection should've been better than it was. So let's ask three questions:
Does it include all the original Bubsy games?
Do all the games run properly?
Does it include any QOL features and bonus content?
I'm pretty sure all of these question can be answered with YES. So then I wonder what else this collection should've done to earn a passing grade?
It's difficult in this case because you obviously don't want to give people the impression that these are good games. The 4 is a good way to make sure people know that. But it doesn't give the developers any feedback on what they could've done better other than that they shouldn't have made this collection to begin with.
I feel like the score is kind of unfair. It sounds like the collection itself is great, just the games in it aren't. Which then begs the question of what is actually being reviewed.
I have no stake in this since I've never actually played any of these games and I've heard they're very bad so I guess the score is justified in that sense. But that would also mean there's no way the score could ever be any higher than this no matter what they do.
Either way I appreciate games being preserved even if they're bad.
I have no intention of buying this game but I am a little curious and know next to nothing about it so I might actually be interested in trying a demo.
Did I read this correctly and is the new '+' content added on top of the old content? Unlike Super Mario Party Jamboree where the old content was untouched and the '+' content was it's own thing? These naming conventions are incredibly confusing.
@Vyacheslav333 "a fresh visual novel from the minds at Arc System Works that eschews written or spoken dialogue in favour of relying on visuals and music to tell its narrative."
"Made COM weaker in everything other than “Battle”."
I guess I can now brag about 3-starring all the grand prixs and knockout tours on mirror mode before this update. This feels like how in Smash Ultimate I unlocked all the characters before they nerfed the cpu battles.
@siavm they can have part of the data on the card with the rest needing a download. This was common practice on Switch for games that couldn't fit everything on the card.
I'm glad we got these out of the way because I actually wanted some of these games on here and I wasn't ready for the comments if Ice Climber had taken up the one game a week slot.
As much as I'm very excited for DK Bananza, I won't be getting it at launch. I'm most likely still going to pick it up sometime this summer but I don't feel like I'm ready yet to jump into a brand new game. I'm also waiting for some kind of Direct to tell us how the rest of the year is going to look.
The three games I'm almost guaranteed to pick up this year though are:
While I appreciate them adding different versions of soundtracks I find it very strange they decided to add this now when MM and TP are still missing in terms of 3D Zeldas.
The real problem is that they have both the European and NA versions in the app. Meaning that every game they add actually gets added twice. For the other consoles this wasn't really an issue since the file sizes were small anyway, but for GameCube this adds up fast.
They should simply add only PAL versions to Europe and only NTSC versions to NA. With the exception of region exclusives like Doshin the Giant where NA should get the PAL version and vice versa.
People who want to play versions from the other regions can just change their account to those regions and download those versions of the NSO apps.
@Pillowpants depends on how badly you want to play as Peachette. If you can resists the urge (I know it's hard) then the game is exactly the same experience as on Wii U.
The only games here I've played so far are Yoshi and the original Yoshi's Island. I've gotta say, I really didn't like Yoshi's Island. Probably one of the worst Nintendo games I've played. Conceptually it should be a good game but for some reason I just didn't have fun.
@SuperBro64 I'm also loving the game but especially the tracks and even in single player mode I've started getting bored of the intermissions so to see Nintendo essentially removing the tracks from online is an absolute gut punch
I don't understand why anyone would even want to play intermissions online. Even if you like them just play them offline with cpus. They're so incredibly basic and boring that playing with actual people doesn't add any kind of interaction that cpus can't provide.
But really the more I play this game the more I start disliking the intermissions.
So how many chapters is this supposed to be? I thought we just got the full version of Deltarune only to see this. I don't see a point in playing it until it's finished.
@Jeronan not true. Pokemon Bank is still working as a free service and you can still transfer Pokemon to Home. You just can't legally download Bank if you never did so in the past.
Don't know yet but probably 9 or 10. The biggest issue is the nonsensically bad character select screen. The second biggest issue is that 3 lap tracks aren't the standard for online races.
I don't know what the reward is for doing all the missions (my guess is nothing) but I think a great reward would be a vehicle with perfect stats that's exclusive to free roam.
I noticed the same thing with NieR: Automata. It's also listed as incompatible but seemed to run just fine with a steady 30fps. Hopefully it gets a 60fps patch though. Same thing with the Kill la Kill game although I only booted it up and didn't check the gameplay itself.
No thanks. This should be the default. On all modern games I always have to immediately go to options to invert the x and y axis. I don't understand how people can play this way.
I spent an hour trying to reach Tingle only to find out the Tingle Tuner straight up doesn't work which is utterly disappointing. Also means it's impossible to 100% Wind Waker.
@Anakin playing them now requires me to put the disc in my Wii, boot up my Wii, put batteries in my Wii Remote, launch the game, untangle my GCN controller and plug it into my Wii alongside a Memory Card. Playing them on Switch 2 is as easy as booting up the NSO app and comes with handy features like save states.
@Dom_31 Don't get me wrong I love the first Mario+Rabbids game (haven't played the second one) but they're the reason we never got Rayman 4. I would want a new Rayman game to be about the Rayman world and the Rabbids would dilute that. Rayman has it's own style of humor that's very different from the Rabbids and all around it would be a huge shame to finally get a new Rayman game after all these years and have it feature the Rabbids.
@somnambulance I got to try it out and the mouse is very sensitive. I played Welcome Tour and there they specifically say you can use your trousers for it. Seriously, mouse mode works much better than you would expect.
This game is one of the reasons I wanted a Switch 2 in the first place so I really hope this is real and the game doesn't take too long to come to Switch 2.
I use it every single day. I've already gone through the entire Fire Emblem history, which was shocking to see because Nintendo talked about all the Japanese only games. All translated and localized for my country.
Now please actually translate and let us buy all these games Nintendo. You clearly know they exist.
This game is incredible. My favourite fighting game outside of Smash. It has a ton of content and never feels repetitve. The story mode is also very in depth although I remember the story itself not making any sense.
Worst and most useless Direct I've ever watched. Told us basically nothing we didn't already know. If only they at least hinted at more characters and things being in the game, perhaps unlockable by doing the missions in free roam, it would've made me more excited for the game. Now I'm left thinking we know everything there is to know about the game, which is very disappointing.

Frame rate priority is the only option here imo. At least for Switch 2, where handheld doesn't even have a difference in resolution alongside it.
