For what it’s worth. I think/ hopeful we might see Prime remasters and HD Zelda WW & TP on OG Switch even if the originals make it onto the Nintendo Classics service. There’s still c100m OG Switch consoles out there to sell to that would not be able to experience these through the GC app. And cherry on top they might run better on S2 like the Mario Galaxy games.

I want to know how the base game without the s2 upgrade will run on s2.

One thing I'm keen to learn before I inevitably buy, as a S2 owner should I buy the S1 or S2 version, like is there a noticeable difference, or is 90% the difference just the hardware runs it better?

Call me old fashioned but my controllers live in a drawer under the TV, the Switch 2 also sits under the TV, I have no trouble switching the Switch 2 on while I'm up off my ass getting a controller, probably changing the game in the console at the same time.

@Zuljaras I'm just saying its not all black n white. Everyone has their own reasons for using / buying the key cards and there's a lot of tarring every instance of it as evil or bad.

Free market economy, time will prove what works and what doesn't and it might not be the same for everyone. What some individuals / companies do or comes out on top won't necessarily please everyone.

Saving publishers and developers money isn't necessarily a bad thing, these businesses still need to make money, still need to pay wages etc to be able to develop/release games.

Its not all evil, though I'm sure there is a fair share...as there is in all areas of life.

I think it’s good marketing. We’re starved of news/a full direct, here’s 45 mins. You sit and watch all of that on a single game, and you are invested. There’s not a lot else coming, get this to tide you over. And they continue to pump out hype for the game and then you think I’ll check this out to see what all the hype is about.

New gen Pokemon, that smells like holiday title. Has been the case at least last couple generations! Legends A-Z is in effect a holiday title for this year.

Nintendo should release the HD Zelda games on the OG Switch. There the most people can enjoy them. They'll run on Switch 2 just the same, maybe even better.

They were speaking of keeping the existing Switch install base engaged while they appreciated that not everyone is ready to make the jump to Switch 2.

Can also see it being connect but in a bit of a different way, linking to consoles to multiplayer without the need for both consoles to have the game. Further the idea of out the box multiplayer from the first switch.

I'm happy with ports, remasters and more content on the switch online apps.

The bar for GAME is so low that they frequently stumble over it.

All good, only concern is the some games will not be compatible note. Hopefully its some dropped feature like clearly these joycon would not go into the ringfit ring, or maybe they dropped the IR sensor, so that'd take like 3 games out the equation.

Just worried its more sinister like, say for example, BOTW doesn't work, you'd need to buy the remastered version.

I think its right of Nintendo to temper expectations. I also think it'd be daft of them to reveal their new console before Christmas and torpedo holiday sales, but a price cut to clear old stock would be appreciated, especially seeing as my 2 eldest kids have asked for a switch with pokemon for Christmas.

Imagine, this is the quality we're getting, on par with the excellent prime remastered, but the map is a massive sprawling planet, maybe even multiple planets, surpassing the maps of all previous prime entries, hiding loads of collectibles and power ups, offering multiple paths for completionists, speed runners and sequence breakers.

Nothing that should be too difficult

All out Metroid sounds good. Port Samus Returns, Prime 2 & 3 as a double pack (perhaps a bit less spit n polish than Prime Remastered), and Zero Mission on Switch Online.

Also putting Pokémon gen 1 -3 on Switch Online sounds good, especially if it’s just to tide us over while they pour more into the next iteration.

Another top down Grezzo Zelda feels like something that’s likely been in development for awhile.

DK64 and Diddy Kong Racing seem like a possibility surely.

Beyond the opening area on day one, I've not had any issues performance wise with my copy. I think the internet has blown it out of all proportion a bit.

That said, a little more effort, little more time in the oven wouldn't do the next games any harm, but I also appreciate that it's not just as keeping the game back, there's the anime, and the merch, and the trading cards, and the tie ins etc etc

254 hours Total playtime, I'm not sure how, sure doesn't feel like it with full time work and two little kiddos.

• Biggest chunk being 120hrs is TOTK which I ought to go back and finish
• Just shy of 50hrs in Pokemon Scarlet - first time I've finished a pokedex in years, might even get the DLC
• GBA think it was Minish Cap I played and finished, what a treat
• Prime would have been the next one and the only other completion I've seen this year

I'm hoping to polish off Minish Cap this weekend (at the final boss), then looking at the backlog, I think I'm going to try finish Fusion (as far as Nightmare) or Dread (think I was on my way to fight Z-57). Maybe get both done before TOTK hits. When you can only steal a few hours gaming a week, you've got to be selective.

Off topic but I could do with a union circle buddy to snag Palafin and complete the pokedex. Stupid gimicky evolutions.

I just hate that I'm catching Pokemon hype again! Every year its revealed and I'm like "meh" and every year the previews say "this game is stuck in the past/doesn't move the franchise on much/performs badly...gamefreak has dropped the ball...again, customers shouldn't stand for this" so I go "no not this time, not again"

Then every year release day rolls around and I want to go out n get it because there just something special in that new pokemon game feeling.
