@Krambo42 Good point. Maybe ‘Great Metroidvania’ is too strong, but I would still say it is a good one. WayForward has also done the Shantae games, so I imagine Yars Rising is comparable.
I would modify the boss fights. There was no indication if your attacks were damaging them or how close you were to beating them (beyond possibly some dialog cues).
@Slain @nukatha @JohnnyMind See if the theme is available for tickets during the Maximus Cup. I was missing a theme and it wasn’t available, even after they made some available. Later, I was able to get it. It was during a Maximus Cup, but no announcement was made that it was available again (it was Theme 12 - Kirby Fighters 2).
@Mana_Knight Same. Brothership is the game that never ends!
I see why IGN gave it a 5. My first impressions had it at a 7, but I think I am dropping down to a 6. I am also nearly finished with the game, but I am pushing myself to finish..
This may not be the biggest seller, but there are probably a lot of Switch players that never played the original Wii game. Many casual players may even just think it is a new game.
@FishyS I wish this was more dlc and improvements to the original game, but I understand music licenses can be costly and push them to making the games separate.
I have the first game digitally. I’ll have to try out the demo for 3 and see if I want to pick it up.
I hope we get the SNES Tetris & Dr. Mario game. Basically it is the NES versions of both games on one cartridge, but supports two player split-screen and has a mode where you compete with both games.
Some things never change. The very first issue of Nintendo Power has an article about Dragon Quest 3 releasing in Japan (pg. 92). It includes a photo of people lining up in the street to buy it. 😊
@SwitchVogel The very first issue of Nintendo Power has an article about Dragon Quest 3 releasing in Japan (pg. 92). It includes a photo of people lining up in the street to buy it. 😊
@Ironcore @outsider83 Tetrisphere has a decent chance of being added to the N64 NSO app since it was published by Nintendo. Tetris Worlds was published by THQ, so it potentially has a better chance of being added to a collection like this.
So far, NSO has Game Boy Tetris and will be getting NES Tetris this winter.
I would also like the SNES NSO app to get the Tetris & Dr. Mario ROM. 😊
@aaronsullivan I just 100% finished it. I loved it
I had a hard time with the bosses too, but I am usually terrible with boss fights. Adding the upgrades for extra hearts and the additional heart drops helped. They need to display the bosses health. I never knew how much damage my attacks were making, nor how close I was to beating the boss.
Overall, though, it is a game made by fans for the fans. A perfect homage. Some of the mini games also include other Atari properties like Centipede and Missile Command. The end credits includes a very deep cut. I am geeking out. 🤓🤓🤓❤️❤️❤️

However, I may get 3. But I will be getting the physical cart this time. I usually buy physical for this very reason. Lesson re-learned.

Congrats, Clubhouse Games!
Re: Reminder: New Mario Kart And Animal Crossing Lego Sets Launch Next Month
I might have to pick up that Celeste set! So cute! 😊
And I really hope the next Animal Crossing game is a LEGO game.🤞
Re: Feature: The Best Hidden Gems And Underrated Switch Games Of 2024
I’ve already talked about Yars Rising a bunch. It came out in the fall and was overshadowed by other releases.
No demo, unfortunately. It is $30, but you can find the physical and digital versions discounted.

Re: Feature: Game Of The Year 2024 - Nintendo Life Staff Awards
I would add Yars Rising as a surprise indie. A great metroidvania. And a game made by Yars fans for Yars fans. 😊
Re: Opinion: It's Not My GOTY, But This Nintendo Game Was A Standout 2024 Memory
@OorWullie I think the idea was that you could link together the small challenges to get a really fast time on beating a level start to finish.
However, you are right. The build up doesn’t really pay off and those mini challenges just are not that fun.
As many have said, the NES Remix games brought better and more diverse challenges.
Re: Video: Here Are Felix's Top 5 Nintendo Switch Games Of 2024
And don’t sleep on Yars Rising!
Re: Your 'Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2024' Stats Are Available Now
@Burning_Spear Thanks! They should do this in January to cover the entire year.
Re: Your 'Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2024' Stats Are Available Now
Odd, I don’t have Brothership on my list even though I know I played that more than Echoes of Wisdom.

Re: Nintendo Announces The Final Tetris 99 Maximus Cup For 2024
I read the headline as the final Maximus Cup…. 😮😮😮
…of 2024. 😅😅😅
Re: PSA: If You're Into Switch 2 'Leaks', It's The Wild West Out There Right Now
Reading leaked info is like peaking at your Christmas presents. I will wait for the actual Direct. 😊

We’ve gone a long way since the Nintendo Seal of Quality.
Re: Bandai Namco Unveils New Pac-Man Game, And It's Probably Not What You Expect
Yars Rising did it first! 😊
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES And Game Boy Color Library With Two More Classics
@BoFiS Right. For historical purposes, Tengen Tetris should be in the Tetris Forever collection or on NSO. 😊
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES And Game Boy Color Library With Two More Classics
@Serpenterror @Yosher Yeah, the Tetris & Dr Mario SNES game has two player support with a mode where you play rounds of both games. 😊🤞
Re: Nintendo Reveals Donkey Kong Country Returns HD's Opening Cutscene
This may not be the biggest seller, but there are probably a lot of Switch players that never played the original Wii game. Many casual players may even just think it is a new game.
Re: No Gravity Games Is Giving Away 11 Free Switch Games This Month (North America)
I kind of like Christmas themed games. Remember Elf Bowling? 😊🧑🎄
Re: Rate Your Favourite Switch Games Of The Year 2024
Yars Rising for me. I had so much fun with that one.
But there are also a lot of games I haven’t played yet.
Re: Rumour: One Of Kirby's 3DS Titles Will Return Next Year, It's Claimed
@Samalik @Not_Soos @NFrealinkling
Or Link Between Worlds
Or Samus Returns
Or Rhythm Heaven Megamix
…but Kirby is also a good choice.
Re: Poll: Okay, It's Time To Ask The Obvious - Will We Get Donkey Kong 64 On NSO?
@Asantos @mlt This! DK94! 💯
Re: Poll: Okay, It's Time To Ask The Obvious - Will We Get Donkey Kong 64 On NSO?
@GalaxyGreg Don't leave us in suspense. Did you get the bundle you wanted?
Re: Nintendo Considered Giving Up On 'Mario & Luigi' Before Approaching Acquire
@Angelus3K It will probably be the same for me, but that includes doing most of the side quests.
Re: Review: Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer (Switch) - Terrible Tunes, But 'Box & Bond' Adds A Personal Touch
@FishyS I wish this was more dlc and improvements to the original game, but I understand music licenses can be costly and push them to making the games separate.
I have the first game digitally. I’ll have to try out the demo for 3 and see if I want to pick it up.
Re: Poll: After Three Quiet Months, Will We Finally Get A Nintendo Direct In December?
Just some NSO titles added for Christmas (announced in social media, no Direct).
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES Library With Another Classic Next Week
I love NES Tetris!
I hope we get the SNES Tetris & Dr. Mario game. Basically it is the NES versions of both games on one cartridge, but supports two player split-screen and has a mode where you compete with both games.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects & Readers' Choice (November 2024)
@Anti-Matter I don’t think they are including games that also have a physical release.
Re: Rumour: Ubisoft May Be Working On An Animal Crossing Competitor
I really want the next Animal Crossing to be a LEGO game. 😊🤞
Re: UK Charts: Mario & Luigi: Brothership Drops Anchor Outside The Top Ten
@IceClimbersMain I am enjoying it too, but I agree. And the reviewers were not wrong, it is an overly chatty game in the dialog sections.
Still, I find that I want to play and finish it. I haven’t given up yet nor felt the need to move on to a different game. 😊
This may change after I finish it, but I would probably score this around 7/10 or 8/10.
Re: Random: Japanese Clinic Closes To Let Staff Play Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
Some things never change. The very first issue of Nintendo Power has an article about Dragon Quest 3 releasing in Japan (pg. 92). It includes a photo of people lining up in the street to buy it. 😊

Re: Review: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake (Switch) - Square Doesn't Drop The Ball, Just Some Frames
@JohnnyMind Great points!
We should all remember the price of another Square game. In 1996, Super Mario RPG (SNES) launched for $75 in the United States. 😬
Happy gaming! 😊
Re: Talking Point: With 'Switch 2' Coming, Will Switch Get A Price Cut?
Before the Switch launched, I remember a lot of people predicting that it would be $250 with a pack-in game included. 😬

Re: Mario & Luigi Fans Aren't Happy About Brothership's Battle Button Tweaks
@Dpullam Correct. As of now, there are no alternative control options.
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Tetris Forever
I am looking forward to NES Tetris being added to NSO. I believe they said it would be this winter. 😊
Re: Review: Tetris Forever (Switch) - The Best Breakdown Of A Legendary Franchise
@John_Deacon We should be getting NES Tetris on NSO soon, right? I believe they said it would be this winter.
Re: Mario & Luigi Fans Aren't Happy About Brothership's Battle Button Tweaks
It is part of the reason the IGN reviewer gave it a middle score.
Re: 'Nintendo Music' Smartphone App Surpasses One Million Downloads
Great app!
They should add ”The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony Concert” that was included with the original Skyward Sword. 😊
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Latest Financials Make One Thing Abundantly Clear
Rhythm Heaven Gold Master Series. We need a collection. 😊
Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mario & Luigi: Brothership
Reviews are subjective. Both the NL and the IGN review scores are valid. They don’t have to agree.
@Uncle_Franklin, right, a demo would help us decide which review we agree with the most. 😊
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects & Readers' Choice (October 2024)
I guess it wasn’t missed, but I would say Hatch Tales.

Re: Reaction: With Xenoblade Chronicles X On Switch, The Wii U's Demise Is Complete
@BANJO Right! And Nintendo Land, Super Mario Maker 1, and NES Remix 1&2.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Confirmed For Switch
@Serpenterror And Nintendo Land and Mario Maker 1. Others have pointed out AC Amiibo Fest and the Kirby game.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (26th October)

Re: Switch Online Offering Trio Of Game Trials
I’ll try A Little to the Left. These game trials are nice, but I wish we had more than just a week.
Re: As Expected, Nintendo Is Struggling To Contain Switch Online Playtest Leaks
@dannym2091 Game Builder Garage also came out of left field (but I enjoyed it). 😊
