Woot! recently had a physical version for sale that wasn’t the Deluxe Edition (but is now sold out). The States didn’t have that option. I think it is coming from a different region.
@LXP8 Now you have me wondering, because people have complained a lot, LOL. But the internet backs you up.
As mentioned, there was a Sept 2020 Direct, but it was celebrating the Super Mario 35th Anniversary, so people don’t count that as a mainline Direct.
We were also in the middle of COVID, so people were pretty understanding that Nintendo’s presentations may need to be different with more people working from home.
As for a Direct highlighting games only, I don’t know what could be announced that couldn’t wait until 2025. We already have Donkey Kong Country in January.
Looks original enough to me. I don’t remember Mario 3 having reverse gravity sections. As long as the levels and characters are mostly original, I don’t see any problem.
Edit: The picture with the spikes on the ceiling and the spinning ball and chains may be too similar. And the water level. I hope the levels don’t end with a staircase and a candy cane pole. 😬
@Artonide Right! There is room for both experimental and traditional games. And it isn’t just BOTW and TOK. We’ve had different styles of games with Adventure of Link and Majora’s Mask.
There are also smaller experiments like the cartoony look of Wind Waker, the weapons rental system in Link Between Worlds, and the multiplayer focus of Tri Force Heroes. 😊
Skyward Sword was criticized a lot for being too same-y and adhering too close to the Zelda formula. It was perceived as getting stale. Breath of the Wild was the perfect game to mix it up. But like many have already said, I am glad they are returning to many parts of the traditional Zelda formula (including 2D). 😊
@HalBailman Right. People shouldn’t look too much at the Switch release as a pattern for the Switch 2.0 release. Nintendo is in a much stronger position today and can afford to give the Switch an extra long life as they continue to prepare for the next one.
@Kiz3000 True, and they had a more in depth Direct about the Switch including the models and preorders around Jan. 2017.
We’ve already heard about Black Friday Switch bundles and 1st party games still releasing in Oct and Nov. I just can’t see them announcing anything before the New Year.
But I don’t know more than anyone else. I could be wrong. 😊
@Member_the_game @BIG3 @TanukiTrooper I didn’t think so. Even if the units are ready, they won’t shadow drop a new console. I think all that we will have by March 2025 is the announcement.
@batmanbud2 I ended up buying my copy of Link’s Awakening HD used, probably about a month after it released. Just under $45 including shipping.
Now that we can look back, Dread built on what Samus Returns established (the blocking and parry mechanics). I stand by Samus Returns being a great game and has some of the best 3D graphics on the 3DS.
I do have Echos of Wisdom preordered (physical) and I am looking forward to it. 😊
How about you? I assume you will be getting Echoes of Wisdom too.
@Duncanballs This! I don’t miss CRTs, but I do miss light gun games. We need more things like Shooting Range on Wii Play and Link’s Crossbow Training. 😊
Also , Nintendo should bring that shooting game in the Nintendo Museum to the Theme Parks.
I don’t think we are getting one until the new year. Not sure what they would announce that hasn’t already been announced (and they certainly won’t be announcing Switch 2.0).

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Balloon Fight (NES)
Europe and Japan are essentially the same, but might end up splitting the vote for 2nd and 3rd. ☹️
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th October (North America)
@Thomystic Yup! I got my code for Hatch Tales last week from Kickstarter. I’ve cleared out the first world so far. 😊
Hatch Tales! 🎵woo-oo🎵
Re: Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Updated (Version 1.1.1), Here's What's Included
@Yalloo Right. I had fun with Game Builder Garage and even made a Joust-like game. And like this game, it was not a full priced game ($30).
Re: Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Updated (Version 1.1.1), Here's What's Included

Re: Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Updated (Version 1.1.1), Here's What's Included
I’ve returned for the weekly challenges. I got A or S rank on most of the levels.
It is good, but not great. And the number of people that play weekly has dropped down to 10-15k. I think in the beginning I saw 40-50k.
Re: Review: Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo - Pricey But Delightful, And Something Only Nintendo Could Pull Off
@arabiansanchez @GrailUK @Gavintendo And Game & Watches. 😉
Re: Review: Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo - Pricey But Delightful, And Something Only Nintendo Could Pull Off
@Jack_Goetz That is how I understood it. If you have motion detection on (not button mode) it will detect any motion and attribute it to you.
Re: Bandai Namco Reportedly Cancels Nintendo-Commissioned Project
@HammerGalladeBro I hope it wasn’t Chibi-Robo. 😢
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Might Be Gearing Up For A GameCube Controller Comeback
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2. 🤞

@dew12333 …and Chibi-Robi! 😊
Re: Fire Up The Light Cycle, 'TRON: Catalyst' Speeds Onto Switch Next Year
@jco83 It is an older cartoon from the Disney Channel that only had one season. I didn’t mean to imply it is a recent thing. 😊
Re: Fire Up The Light Cycle, 'TRON: Catalyst' Speeds Onto Switch Next Year
@abbyhitter @Teksetter @jco83 Tron fans shouldn’t overlook the Tron cartoon on Disney+. It was good. 😊
Edit: Tron: Uprising (2012-2013, one season)
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Might Be Gearing Up For A GameCube Controller Comeback
I found the GC controller very comfortable, except for pressing the Z-button.

Re: Talking Point: After A September No-Show, Will There Be An October Nintendo Direct?
The difference is the Switch is a success and the Wii U was not. They probably won’t follow the same release cadence that they had for Switch.
Plus, they have already announced Switch holiday bundles.
Re: Talking Point: After A September No-Show, Will There Be An October Nintendo Direct?
@Tulio517 So many great lines in that movie! That is one of them. 😊
Re: Japanese Charts: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Trounces The Competition
@Seacliff Echoes of Wisdom is also tracking closely with Link Between Worlds, which had ~224k sold in Japan its first week (and had a lower price). 😊
Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd October (North America)
The top image is so adorable. I definitely need more info on All You Need is Help. 😊
However, I am mostly a single player gamer.
Re: Poll: Are You Bothered By The Frame Rate In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom?
@BenAV This! The blur at the edges of the screen bothers me more than the framerate. And Link’s Awakening had the blur too.

This sounds interesting, but I am still mostly interested in the Tetris Forever collection.

Re: Miyamoto: Nintendo Won't Be Opening Museums In Other Locations
I would like to see the light gun game added to the theme parks.
Re: Miyamoto: Nintendo Won't Be Opening Museums In Other Locations
It would be cool if it could be a traveling exhibit someday.
Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Includes "Over 100 Echoes"
I appreciate the marketing push for this game, but is there anything left to be discovered? 😉 I hope so. 😊
Re: Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Was Built Around 'Being Mischievous'
@batmanbud2 Yeah! This tracks. Pretty sure Zelda pushes Link off a ledge a couple of times in Skyward Sword. 🤣
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Collections And Compilation Games
@HolyGeez03 7+ years later. Still no Disney Afternoon Collection on Switch. ☹️
At this point, bring it to Switch 2.0 (unless backwards compatibility is confirmed).

Re: Nintendo Shows Off Some Friendly Faces You'll Meet In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom
This has been a huge marketing push. They have shown a lot.
Re: Video: "It's Got Big Nintendo Vibes" - We Dive Into Astro Bot With Our Friends At Push Square
@breakneck I count Mario Maker 2 as a new 2D Mario game, but your point still stands.
@OldGamer999 I would still love to see Galaxy 2 ported to Switch. 🤞
Re: Does Astro Bot's Super Mario 'Inspiration' Cross A Line? Fans Seem Divided
Mario games are not on the PlayStation. Let them enjoy this. 😊
Re: Does Astro Bot's Super Mario 'Inspiration' Cross A Line? Fans Seem Divided
I haven’t played it, so I didn’t vote. From what I have heard, it is a great game. Plenty of room for good 3D platformers. 😊
Re: Review: Yars Rising (Switch) - A Stylish, Ambitious Revival Of An Atari Classic In Metroidvania Form
Nice! I already had it preordered. Looking forward to playing it. 😊
This one caught my eye from the start. Love that they are doing something new with the IP.
Re: New AI Model Can Recreate Super Mario Bros. Footage, But It's Full Of Glitches
