@Anti-Matter What is the Switch 2 price in Indonesia?

My pet peeve is when a scalper shows 10-15 NES mini consoles stacked in a pyramid. I feel like this is rubbing it in people’s faces. Just show one in the listing.

The upgrade pack should include it. Or offer it at a discount with the upgrade pack.

I plan on buying Welcome Tour. I am interested in it. If it had been priced at higher than $15, I would have held off for a discount (or more details).

I understand, though, that many are not interested or would prefer to save their money for a different game.

P.S. I like Nintendo’s experimental stuff. I bought Game Builder Garage and enjoyed it.

However, I did not buy Labo until it was deeply discounted.

@Sylamp If 1-2 Switch had been a pack-in and raised the price of the Switch by $50 — I would have preferred keeping them separate.

They could probably scalp the Mario Kart bundle, but only to the point where it costs the same as buying them separately.

@Anti-Matter I don’t know if it has been confirmed recently, but the Switch 2 game boxes are expected to be larger.

@SMJ Right. The original Super Mario RPG launched at $75 in the States.

It would be nice to have a range of game prices (based on content). Like how Game Builder Garage launched at $30.

At $80, I would expect any DLC for Mario Kart World to be free.

The Switch 2 hardware is more powerful than most anticipated. They might be selling it at a loss.

1. We will learn more spec details, but the Switch 2 is way more advanced then most suspected. At $450, they are probably selling the hardware at a loss.

2. 1-2 Switch should not have been a pack in title. It wasn’t that fun and would have given many people a bad first impression.

3. If 1-2 Switch had been a pack-in title, the Switch would have costed $50 more, for a game that many really didn’t want.

@charliecarrot Agreed. I like the idea, but if this were to happen, the Switch 2 would be docked and the OG Switch would be the tablet controller (with no C button).

The colors and art style of this reminds me of World of Goo. 😊

@SViper Right. Now that people can lend digital titles in an easier fashion, a lot of people may sell their physical games and then buy them digitally. That would potentially have been a lot of gold coins.

And essentially the value added now is the ability to lend titles.

3rd party can mean a lot of things. There are hundreds of indie devs. They are the ones that won’t be getting dev kits early.

@MarioBrickLayer Indie devs probably won’t get theirs until June, but I bet a few major partners already have them.

This sounds plausible. There hasn’t been much scuttlebutt on dev kits out in the wild.

No need for a complex voucher system. Subscribers should get a simple percentage discount on 1st party eShop games.

@SillyG I love Picross, but the modern generic puzzles are a little too abstract. They use colors to help define the completed puzzles. Often I have no idea what the completed puzzle is supposed to be until they fill in the colors. It takes away a little of the fun.

Every time I hear about major sales like these, I think Disney must have received the deal of a lifetime for buying all things Star Wars for $4 billion.

I used a technicality. I voted Mario Odyssey since Breath of the Wild is on Wii U (I did buy that version at launch).

@StewdaMegaManNerd Chrono Trigger? SNES and DS are the versions people like. But there was also a PlayStation version and it appears to be on mobile phones too.

@shoeses @Wisestfool According to Wikipedia, Special Themes 1-10, 12, & 17 are the only ones that you can get by exchanging tickets (without a special event).

@KITG_GROUP I can’t speak for their other games, but Ubisoft did have Prince of Persia in Jan of 2024 - and it did review well.

I have a handful of them. Some I paid full price. A few I got on sale. I love that they include alternate ROMs when they exist (like the international version). The emulation is great.

However, I can’t justify buying too many more. $8 per title is a premium price (and is digital only). It is much cheaper when you buy them in collections.

I will feel more comfortable with the price if the purchases carry over to the Switch 2.

And for kids, the Switch is more affordable and practical.

My wallet says “Please, no”.
My backlog agrees.

The kid in me says, “Bring it on!”

We just got Wario Land 4 on NSO. Maybe we will get some mainline Pokemon games finally added to the subscription.

Maybe a mainline game finally lands on NSO? Still a long shot, but probably more likely than a new spinoff game getting announced.

So for February, still no big 1st party game announced, right?
