It should be an easy sales pitch, but it was probably difficult to get Disney, Capcom, and Digital Eclipse back to the negotiating table.

@MarzoriuM I understand why it skipped the Wii U. However, it should have been released for the 3DS, and then later on Switch after the Switch proved to be successful.

Seems like the toggle switch on the LEGO builds wouldn’t work correctly if the cartridge top was centered. Builders should notice the problem, right?

@Lord It depends on the IP owners. Some Taito games go on sale. Qix has gone on sale twice, first at 50% and later at 30%.

Some games have only gone on sale once, like some of the Nintendo titles (in 2023 at 30% off).

Many games on my wish list have never been discounted, like Frogger.

With the variety of titles, everyone probably has a few that are ‘must owns’.

For games not yet released, I would pay full price for Gorf (Midway) and Gyruss (Konami).

As for already released games, Volfied (Taito) is a hidden gem (which is really Qix 2).

And Capcom has Capcom Arcade Stadium where individual titles are $2 and they have bundled options too.

Hamster deserves to get paid, so I don’t expect to see games for $2. However, $8 is a premium price for a single title.

Discounts are good, but are controlled by the IP owners. Most of the Arcade Archive titles have not gone on sale (or have gone on sale only once).

Taito games, though, do go on sale. So there is hope for this one.

@PlatinumTour You are right, too. It was an incentive for parents. Nintendo could probably boost console sales late in the life cycle by rereleasing the games as cheaper Selects titles (and the console was usually discounted by then too).

Like I said before, the eShop is now where the discounts should be on old first party titles.

@Exerion76 @PlatinumTour Nintendo’s Selects was a way to bring back older games to store shelves. This is less needed now since all of these games are perpetually on the eShop.

To the point, though, yes - the older eShop games should get the Selects treatment with permanent discounts (or frequent discounts).

Maybe we will get another GameCube game drop for Christmas. Mario Sunshine? 🤔

After the new year, I will play something random like Welcome Tour as my first 2026 game. 🤓

@joey302 Discounts seem to come from the IP owners. I’ve seen Namco and Taito games discounted. One time, some of the Nintendo titles. Like you said, though, many never get discounted.

@JohnnyMind @Markiemania95 I was thinking of Super Mario RPG’s end credits too. The fireworks are not until the end, but the whole scene is a great nod to Disneyland’s Main Street Electrical Parade. 😊

The demand is like for Hamilton tickets.

They should do what Hamilton did. Make a video special that shows all of the exhibits. Or make a Switch 2 museum tour.
