Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame

@Elitepatriot You could always go physical and sell it after, you'd make a nice chunk back, making it far cheaper for you.
For me, I'm fine with the price, preordered for £40 on Switch 1 (although can't play till Christmas, as I stated elsewhere I'd like my mother to give me something I truly want, so got it posted to her. Regretting that now) but even if it cost more I'd be cool with it to be honest. I don't judge a games price worth by amount of hours, rather the enjoyment those hours provide.
That said, like other Metroid's I will likely replay this multiple times. Using the latest, Dread has about 80hrs clocked, it's a 10 hour game first time and far, far less on repeat plays. I have also played through Remastered 3 times since it's release. My all time favourite game is Mario World and that only clocks in at 4hrs to 100%, yet I have put more time into that game than any other ever

Re: Random: Samus Is Joined By Doom Slayer's Voice Actor In Metroid Prime 4

DennyCrane

I posted this on the other actor post but had to post again.

I looked up the two actresses who portray Samus to see who they are as I didn't know by name and some of the photos of Erin Yvette gave me Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) vibes. I had to chuckle, can you imagine Liz Lemon being hired to portray Samus.

Samus turns to the federation troopers "There ain't no party like a Samus Aran party because a Samus Aran party is mandatory"

Hears of a new area "I want to go there"

Shoots and enemy "BLAMMO!!"

Re: Mini Review: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (Switch 1) - An Impressive Version If You've Yet To Upgrade

DennyCrane

@NolandC I mean Prime Remastered is more than just an upscale, an upscale of a 2002 game would be Sunshine on 3D All-Stars, Remastered had every asset redone done to make it the most visually stunning game on the OG Switch.
Retro games have always been as smooth as silk and with them building a new game for the hardware from the ground up (despite also becoming a Switch 2 game), I never expected it to run less than 60fps, which it does so wonderfully. The only reason I mentioned that game was because Prime games have always been 60fps and Retro showed that even producing a game so visually stunning as Remastered that that tradition would continue, which it has.
Another company producing Remastered for the OG Switch with how it ended up looking we may have seen 30fps or struggle to maintain 60fps. My comment was merely displaying that I had enough faith in Retro to produce a smooth experience that I expected that smooth experience and they didn't disappoint. I did not mean it to sound like a comparison

@LightSpirit "Don't give a carrot what these boring critics say. I'll play the game and decide for myself"
Very well said. There seems to be to much importance placed on reviews and their scores or other peoples opinions. If something interests you and you believe you might enjoy it, try it and form your own opinion.

So, basically, was spoilt by Switch 2. If that version did not exist then this would be a very different video. I plan on playing on my OLED and it will be gorgeous, then when the day comes to play on Switch 2 it will be even better. I think the Switch 2 should not have been so much a focus here, the difference is obvious and expected, a higher focus on the Switch 1 achievements would have been preferred.

Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Metroid Prime 4 Switch 1 Review?

DennyCrane

@sportymariosonicmixx Any game that is for the Switch 1 but is also sold as a Switch 2 edition, the Switch 2 edition cartridge work on the Switch 1, only without any benefits, be that upgrades to performance or additional content. The Switch 2 Editions are basically a Switch 1 game on the cartridge with the downloadable content for Switch 2 on the cartridge as well.
Any games that are made for Switch 2 exclusively i.e Donkey Kong, Outlaws etc will not be compatible at all

Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Metroid Prime 4 Switch 1 Review?

@NolandC Given what they did with Prime Remastered I certainly was expecting 60fps, I think Nintendo and Retro knew they would get a lot of criticism and backlash if not. Retro seem to have that magic touch, as they have previously proved. My concern was with the open area, corridors etc were always going to run lovely, but the open area could prove troublesome. Seems like some pop-in here and there is a fine trade off to keep things smooth.
As for most other Switch 1 games, yeah, I never expect past 30fps to be honest and as for LA and EoW, I simply don't understand how they are not smooth. Certainly shows the difference between Grezzo and Retro.
Anyway, what ever Switch you pick it up on, if you do, I hope you have fun!

Re: Review: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (Switch 2) - Samus Returns In Prime Form

DennyCrane

I am not one for stuff, never really want anything and prefer the simple things in life. I don't own much really as I don't long for things. It can make me impossible to buy a gift for, what do you get someone who doesn't want anything. However, every now and then something does appear that a truly desire and this, being apart of my one of my top two favourite gaming series is precisely that. So, instead of being able to play this in a a days (plus) time, I have decided to let my mother dearest buy her 44year old son a gift he truly wants. So, as a result I will be waiting till Christmas Day for my copy, which is quite cool really, it will harken back to the days of being excited to unwrap DuckTales or TMNT and I really look forward to feeling that child like glee on Christmas Eve of the anticipation of what is to come.
Still, I have to wait and that sucks!!!! Hope you all enjoy!!!

I used to use the fax machine to send stuff to TV channels etc. Disney channel showed quite a few of my drawing I did, my sister was younger and she loved to see them on her favourite channel.
Made me chuckle he had to explain what a fax machine does "came out very slowly from a printer". My dad finally got rid of his last year, only due to a move to another country mind or I'm sure he'd still have it (only phone and answer phone use, not fax)
@RupeeClock That's a good bit of information right there. I love that they still use them.
@EarthboundBenjy she just wants some excitement, so trying to incite an angry, pitchfork wielding mob to her door for the kicks

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES And Game Boy Library With Four More Titles

I was wondering why I was woken to profanity's being screamed from all directions, then I see Battletoads has been released.
All good games here, despite Battletoads difficulty.
Kid Icarus on GB is well worth a shot for those that haven't tried it before and is better than the NES game in every way, although I actually still prefer the NES game. Bionic Commando on GB was my first taste of the games, tried the NES one a good few years after GB, both are fun. If you like the NES game, the one most people have played, the GB one is well worth a go.

Re: Best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Games, Ranked - Every TMNT Game On Switch And Nintendo Systems

DennyCrane

TMNT NES is my favourite. I love the varied gameplay, music is banging, I love how the Turtles look in it and the fact it's a blend of the original comics and the animated show. Sure it's tough, but the game rewards future planning and is really rather short.
As for Shredder's Revenge, when it released I would have said it's the best Turtles beat em up ever, however, now some time as passed I don't think that is true. I keep coming back to likes of Hyperstone Heist or Manhattan Project, but honestly don't think I'm too bothered to play SR again. I can't explain it but the artwork feels kinda off somehow and honestly, whilst that first month with it at release was great, I find the game tiring and a bit of a chore now. I tried booting it up last week and just got that 'I really can't' feeling after a minute.
