Re: Review: Farming Simulator: Signature Edition - A Passable But Lacklustre Port Ploughs Onto Switch 2

Nothing to do with article, just the first I clicked on.
@Anti-Matter I was just wrapping up some presents to help someone out and one of them was a Bluey colouring book and I thought to myself as I was wrapping it up, "Yep, Anti-Matter will love this. Merry Christmas Anti-Matter". You'll have to imagine the gift, but enjoy it anyway! Wrapped in blue Frozen paper btw

@somnambulance A lot of people are loving, but negativity has the tendency to drown out other views on the internet, so I imagine many would be turned off before giving it a shot. It's been nice on this site seeing how many have really been enjoying it, even if there are parts they are not a fan of.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Switch 1 & 2 Physical Release Does Not Include Mortal Kombat 4 On The Game Card

@JohnnyMind It is a problem, across everything, from silly things to political. The need to resort to name calling, other insults, that your opinion is worthless or feeling offended because a view point is different will lead to a very unhealthy society. The ability to take on someone else's views, understand them and express yourself at the same time is how we move forward, how we become better and most importantly, how we unite as a people. It is being lost and I truly hope we can all find our way back.

@JohnnyMind Sadly Nintendo often get the extreme end of view points and it is only getting worse. Also, there are many people, me included, that only own a Nintendo product, so the practises of other companies are not as known, so as a result it is what you are used too. Honestly, regardless of system, it is something that absolutely be addressed to protect consumers in the future as companies are caring less and less about us. Healthy, nonaggressive debates such as what has happened here today are great for both parties to see each others viewpoints, perhaps have a deeper understanding why someone cares or doesn't care and thus, ideally, come to a common understanding and to move to a better future taking onboard all parties. Both digital and physical can co exist, but companies should and need to balance this and understand physical should be just that. Using this game, had they have had said we will release a physical version, but we can't meet the release date but will absolutely have available and complete when ready, those that would want the physical may have been disappointed they have to wait, but pleased with the knowledge that they will get the full and complete game. With any release, I would gladly wait if it's something I wanted in my hand, only those with fear of missing out will be over grumpy.

@Pat_trick I actually saw an interesting take on game key cards the other day. Now, whilst I think they are absolutely better than code in the box I have never liked the idea, but the guy had a good take. The reason for game key cards or at least meant to be, is that the game will struggle to run from the cart, so why not have the game on the cart and have it download to your console, much like a PS game, and thus solving the issue of buying what is essentially a code on a cart and have happy consumers.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Switch 1 & 2 Physical Release Does Not Include Mortal Kombat 4 On The Game Card

DennyCrane

@ArcadeSixties Well that's a bit unfair, there are plenty of people who buy physical because they want to own and keep the game and something like this especially so, being a piece of history and a part of many a childhood.
It's understandable when the game is to big for a cart, but otherwise is feels cheap and with this collection in particular, when it was preordered by people, they were told and so expecting all the content on the cart. I would say it's fair to be a bit grumpy it is not.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (13th December)

DennyCrane

Not sure if I will play anything, but I did rewatch the Super Mario Bros. Movie (1993). Love that film, it's so weird and fun and highly rewatchable. It's 'bad', yes, but a good bad. Shame it gets so much shade. I love Luigi in it, he such a sweet guy, like when he says to Daisy "You know, I was going to ask you the same thing, if you want to end this right now, and you feel bad about that, but you want to talk to somebody about it, you can call me."
I prefer it to the Illumination one, one viewing was more than enough of that and I gave me DVD (yes, I still buy them) to someone as I knew I would never watch it again.
Anyways....it's not a game but I suppose being Mario it can count being in this page

Re: Review: Terminator 2D: NO FATE (Switch) - A Simplistic Yet Fascinating 16-Bit Love Letter

DennyCrane

@AstroTheGamosian oh absolutely.
I never got try E.T as I don't think it was released in UK, but, boy did I play some bad games on both the C64 (my home), Atari (friends) and the BBC Micro (school). Funnily enough, my first experience with the game that released on the year of my birth, the mighty Donkey Kong, was on the BBC Micro and it was a less than stellar experience.
Aliens wasn't actually that bad once they had patched it all up, simple silly fun, but that release was a disaster for sure.

Re: Review: Terminator 2D: NO FATE (Switch) - A Simplistic Yet Fascinating 16-Bit Love Letter

DennyCrane

@AstroTheGamosian I think we all got burned by movie licenses back then, but high risk high reward, when they were good, boy were they good.
Miyamoto san words were proven true with Goldeneye. The game could have been rushed out the door to capitalise on the movie release, but two years after the movies came out it dropped and was hugely successful and very much beloved to this day.

Re: Video: Pragmata Hands-On Impressions Shared By Capcom

DennyCrane

@JaxonH Capcom still hold onto what makes games great, being fun first and foremost, innovation & creativity and the willingness to take risks and for a AAA company that is an increasingly rare thing. They don't seem to artificially pad out their games either, which as a gamer is nice to know your time is respected and that the time you do spend with the game is going to be fun. Sure, they stumble and their games aren't always my cup of tea, this included I think, but I do respect them.

Re: Review: Terminator 2D: NO FATE (Switch) - A Simplistic Yet Fascinating 16-Bit Love Letter

DennyCrane

@Tom-Massey Thanks for the review and response.
I did say the first 'con' was a positive for me, not judging your placement of it, for many it absolutely would be a con. The simplicity is fine to and looking at the times you posted it is what I hope for in a game like this, to be honest I'd really tire of it otherwise, so that's definitely a plus for me. I prefer these games to be short and sweet, then replay them whenever the desire arises and have a nice little adventure I can finish on a rainy afternoon.
The issue I have is I think the game should be a bit cheaper, say £15-£18 would be a fairer price point and encourage more to buy it. I think many will be turned off at the moment, especially with the fact that what I see as a positive, many will see as a turn off and discourage them more.
I shall let you know once I play it, but for now, thanks again

Re: Review: Terminator 2D: NO FATE (Switch) - A Simplistic Yet Fascinating 16-Bit Love Letter

DennyCrane

That first con is in the wrong section as far as I'm concerned.
Short-lived = easily replayable
Linear = Good, who wants to run in circles on a game like this, if it was a Metroidvania or something I would have been really disappointed (despite my love for the genre).
Simplistic = Good, didn't want anything complex on a game like this. Something akin to a Contra style game with some sprinkles on top is exactly what I was hoping for and expecting.

Re: A New Tomb Raider Entry Has Leaked Ahead Of The Game Awards

Lara looks so sweet and innocent in those shots, five minutes later she pulls out a shotgun and blasts a bears head off no doubt, but right there in that moment, butter wouldn't melt.
I'm intrigued, would be nice to have a focus on exploration and tombs. The newer ones were far to heavy in shooty shooty bang bang for my tastes, I want to be Lara not Nathan
