Oh no, you said 'innit'. Looks great. R-Type is always fun, shame I never beat one, but love playing none the less. Shoot'em ups aren't really my forte, give me Ninja Gaiden, NES, or something of such nature and I'll kick its behind, but shoot'em ups are my kryptonite. But, some games I just love to play, even if I will never beat them. Now, can we please have Axelay 2...........
So pleased to see Metroid Prime 4 doing well. Also seems that the majority are really enjoying it, which is great. I understand people have complaints about Metroid 4, but I do find it odd that linearity is one of them. Nearly half the Metroid games are linear and when they first showed NPCs, it kinda became clear this was going to go down the same route as Corruption and be a linear and guided game. Metroid has never been about the Metrovania design, despite the namesake due to 1 and Super, its about the world itself, whether that path is linear or more open. Nintendo showed this straight away with Fusion then Corruption, Other M, Samus Returns following Return of Samus, even Zero Mission became a much linear and guided game, despite being able to be ripped apart for those who want to.
@Ramouz oh I love my WiiU. I only ever played it in handheld really, so going to the Switch was quite something. I actually ended up getting NexiGo Gripcon (gen2 now) after trying Hori Splitpad (didn't feel sturdy and started to have a wobble on the rails) and whatever that big white brick was called I read about on this site (was fantastic for 3D games, uncomfortable for 2D) and the only issue I have with the NexiGo is the D-pad could be a little better. It has helped a lot with my enjoyment of games.
So, as I have to wait till Christmas as I stated previously (really regretting doing that). sounds like it continues from Corruption. Corruption was very linear with plenty of NPCs and very hand holdy, but I enjoyed it a lot despite the changes and have played through it a good number of times. Seems like my only real concern with this is the dialogue writing and desert area, but as long as bike is fun to ride it will only be annoyance. Look forward to getting this and seeing for myself
I want one! I found the WiiU pad super comfy, made it feel like a downgrade when I first held the Switch and the D-Pad was awesome, really awesome. Remember Nintendo? Remember when you made good D-Pads? Denny remembers.
First of, I loved this game, played through so many times. I would love to see a sequel. The Japanese is nice with the darker colours, but with the extra metroids and what not, it feels a bit to much going on. So, I don't know, they kind of balance out so not going to vote....yet, anyway.
First things first, I am pleased you also recognise Anthony Michael Hall as an 80's hard man, particularly his performance in Sixteen Candles.
As for Frank, yeah that's him. However, I strongly advise you do not mention Tingle to him, he freaks out when people wear clothes with no buttons, ever wonder why Mr Motivator disappeared for so long? Frank's basement knows the answer to that. He would of course be delighted to see the buttons on your boxers, but I suggest you swap them for a finely polished mahogany button or something of such nature as a cheap plastic button will likely see him, well, lets just say you'll be able to use your own detached fists for those eggs you enjoy smashing so much.
I can't believe you know Gemma, she is my ex fiancé. Sadly she walked out on me upon a discussion of various sewing techniques and stitches. I had said I really liked the bridging stitch that a sewing machine does and she went into one saying I was clearly a lover of the small breast and being a busty woman, as I am sure you well know, she believed she wasn't what I wanted and after a punishment I would sooner not discuss, I never saw her again. I should have heeded that popular saying 'Beware the scorned seamstress lest you doomed to suffer' and as a result of not doing so I will always regret that comment, as do my nipples and knees (again, I don't wish to discuss). Send her my love if you will, although, I would advise you keep your distance when doing so as you really don't want to inflame that temper.
@Slideaway1983 My love started because they feel nice in the hand, I like to rub them between my thumb and fingers and sometimes suck on them. However, sucking a button when not properly trained can be exceptionally dangerous....to the button, of course. I do in fact like chocolate buttons, but only if they come out of a Cadbury's Buttons Easter Egg. Chocolate buttons should be special and thus deserve special presentation, the cheap bags are quite frankly disgusting and cruel. Well, shank buttons are the devils work and thus should be avoided at all costs. The choice of stitch for a two or four holed button, however, depends entirely on the button design and usually requires a board meeting of the ASBC (The Association of Splendid Button Collectors), where it can debated as to what stitch is correct. The debates tend to last 10-96 hours in the Great Hall of Buttonhood and if no unified decision is made the decision will rest with The High Lord Button Collector, also known as The Grand Master of Buttonhood (Frank Smith). It is also important to be aware of the garment you are affixing your buttons on to, as the wrong garment can hinder the beauty of the button and also result in dismissal from the ASBC. I have a very modest collection consisting of only 14,987 buttons. I am ashamed to admit I have stolen money on 17 separate occasions to fuel my button collection habit and have stolen buttons from the garments people are wearing, especially on Pensioners Thursdays at garden centres (those guys have some real beauty's).
@Slideaway1983 yep, I remember it, it's why I thanked you. I mean my post was meant to be comical in that way and was great to have someone recognise that
@Elitepatriot You could always go physical and sell it after, you'd make a nice chunk back, making it far cheaper for you. For me, I'm fine with the price, preordered for £40 on Switch 1 (although can't play till Christmas, as I stated elsewhere I'd like my mother to give me something I truly want, so got it posted to her. Regretting that now) but even if it cost more I'd be cool with it to be honest. I don't judge a games price worth by amount of hours, rather the enjoyment those hours provide. That said, like other Metroid's I will likely replay this multiple times. Using the latest, Dread has about 80hrs clocked, it's a 10 hour game first time and far, far less on repeat plays. I have also played through Remastered 3 times since it's release. My all time favourite game is Mario World and that only clocks in at 4hrs to 100%, yet I have put more time into that game than any other ever
I posted this on the other actor post but had to post again.
I looked up the two actresses who portray Samus to see who they are as I didn't know by name and some of the photos of Erin Yvette gave me Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) vibes. I had to chuckle, can you imagine Liz Lemon being hired to portray Samus.

@Elitepatriot Honestly, 40hrs would concern me. Metroid games tend to linger between 10-15hrs first playthrough, which I have always found perfect. You never tire of it and the replay value is through the roof.
@NolandC I mean Prime Remastered is more than just an upscale, an upscale of a 2002 game would be Sunshine on 3D All-Stars, Remastered had every asset redone done to make it the most visually stunning game on the OG Switch.
Retro games have always been as smooth as silk and with them building a new game for the hardware from the ground up (despite also becoming a Switch 2 game), I never expected it to run less than 60fps, which it does so wonderfully. The only reason I mentioned that game was because Prime games have always been 60fps and Retro showed that even producing a game so visually stunning as Remastered that that tradition would continue, which it has.
Another company producing Remastered for the OG Switch with how it ended up looking we may have seen 30fps or struggle to maintain 60fps. My comment was merely displaying that I had enough faith in Retro to produce a smooth experience that I expected that smooth experience and they didn't disappoint. I did not mean it to sound like a comparison
@LightSpirit "Don't give a carrot what these boring critics say. I'll play the game and decide for myself" Very well said. There seems to be to much importance placed on reviews and their scores or other peoples opinions. If something interests you and you believe you might enjoy it, try it and form your own opinion.
@Lizuka When Bowers Fury was released and everyone saying that the next 3D Mario would be open world, I felt the cracks in my heart forming. I don't think Nintendo will go that way to be honest, but there is always the possibility
@canaryfarmer That would have upset a number of OG switch owners who have waited so long. Pitchforks would come out faster than a blast from Samus' arm-cannon and extra sharp as well
So, basically, was spoilt by Switch 2. If that version did not exist then this would be a very different video. I plan on playing on my OLED and it will be gorgeous, then when the day comes to play on Switch 2 it will be even better. I think the Switch 2 should not have been so much a focus here, the difference is obvious and expected, a higher focus on the Switch 1 achievements would have been preferred.
@jfp Absolutely. For a game like this, it's about the world and it's beauty, 60fps is more than good enough, no need sacrificing that beauty for 120fps

Switch 1, it runs fantastically so fine with that. I have yet to get a Switch 2, first time I haven't bought a Nintendo console on day 1, as at the moment only DK is of real interest to me, so I'm fine to hold off till another big hitter or two I want drops. Plenty of life in my OLED yet.
@NolandC Just posted this on the review page, but it's a comparison video between S1 and S2 if your interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMc1oik78Vc
Edit would help if I put the link in
@NolandC Given what they did with Prime Remastered I certainly was expecting 60fps, I think Nintendo and Retro knew they would get a lot of criticism and backlash if not. Retro seem to have that magic touch, as they have previously proved. My concern was with the open area, corridors etc were always going to run lovely, but the open area could prove troublesome. Seems like some pop-in here and there is a fine trade off to keep things smooth. As for most other Switch 1 games, yeah, I never expect past 30fps to be honest and as for LA and EoW, I simply don't understand how they are not smooth. Certainly shows the difference between Grezzo and Retro. Anyway, what ever Switch you pick it up on, if you do, I hope you have fun!
@NolandC As stated above, IGN commented in their review, saying "it runs at an impressive 60fps on the old hardware". To be expected, it is at heart a Switch 1 game that has a good bump in resolution etc for Switch 2
@sportymariosonicmixx Switch 2 EDITIONS, not Switch 2 games. So, if you buy Kirby Forgotten land for Switch2 then the cart will play in a Switch 1, just without the extra content and bells and whistles
@a1904 I mean I have concerns with how dialogue will go in this game, I did when they showed the footage a couple of weeks ago, but the game was always ging to be and by the sounds of it, is awesome. Would be a shame for you to miss out because of a small fraction of the game. I mean, I presume your a Metroid fan, if not, well, I'll shut up
@Olliemar28 Any question?? What's your favourite cheese? Seriously, thanks for the review and glad you enjoyed it, I look forward to my time with Samus.
I am not one for stuff, never really want anything and prefer the simple things in life. I don't own much really as I don't long for things. It can make me impossible to buy a gift for, what do you get someone who doesn't want anything. However, every now and then something does appear that a truly desire and this, being apart of my one of my top two favourite gaming series is precisely that. So, instead of being able to play this in a a days (plus) time, I have decided to let my mother dearest buy her 44year old son a gift he truly wants. So, as a result I will be waiting till Christmas Day for my copy, which is quite cool really, it will harken back to the days of being excited to unwrap DuckTales or TMNT and I really look forward to feeling that child like glee on Christmas Eve of the anticipation of what is to come.
Still, I have to wait and that sucks!!!! Hope you all enjoy!!!
I used to use the fax machine to send stuff to TV channels etc. Disney channel showed quite a few of my drawing I did, my sister was younger and she loved to see them on her favourite channel. Made me chuckle he had to explain what a fax machine does "came out very slowly from a printer". My dad finally got rid of his last year, only due to a move to another country mind or I'm sure he'd still have it (only phone and answer phone use, not fax) @RupeeClock That's a good bit of information right there. I love that they still use them. @EarthboundBenjy she just wants some excitement, so trying to incite an angry, pitchfork wielding mob to her door for the kicks
I have no idea who any of these people are. I mean I enjoy me some Ryukahr and have done for countless years as he was the only one who didn't scream and shout when they were all starting out back then. I know the names of some others but not really watched them (again like to chill not have someone screaming every five minutes), but not a single one here.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (Switch 2) - Samus Returns In Prime Form
Re: Random: "Splendid Game" - Shigeru Miyamoto Was A Fan Of Banjo-Tooie
I used to use the fax machine to send stuff to TV channels etc. Disney channel showed quite a few of my drawing I did, my sister was younger and she loved to see them on her favourite channel.
Made me chuckle he had to explain what a fax machine does "came out very slowly from a printer". My dad finally got rid of his last year, only due to a move to another country mind or I'm sure he'd still have it (only phone and answer phone use, not fax)
@RupeeClock That's a good bit of information right there. I love that they still use them.
@EarthboundBenjy she just wants some excitement, so trying to incite an angry, pitchfork wielding mob to her door for the kicks
Re: Didn't Catch The Mario Kart World: Knockout Tour Streamer Showdown? Here's Who Won
I have no idea who any of these people are. I mean I enjoy me some Ryukahr and have done for countless years as he was the only one who didn't scream and shout when they were all starting out back then. I know the names of some others but not really watched them (again like to chill not have someone screaming every five minutes), but not a single one here.
