I'll take that free upgrade. Mouse mode is cool but after about 20 mins my hand starts cramping (played a bit with Cyberpunk). So I would much prefer gyro aiming. I'm not a fan of auto aim in games.
This game is old, so i'm hoping for at least 1440p in docked mode. Handheld mode won't cut it with aiming using those short travel distance thumb stick on the Joy-Cons.
HDR and 60fps, nice! Maybe I'll finally finish this game for once!
Unless I see a proper physical release, there is no reason for me to be excited about these games coming to Switch 1/2 anymore. If Switch is the only way you have to play these games in portable mode, then I understand.
I have Fallout 3, 4, and New Vegas on my Steam Deck OLED. So unless this game comes complete on cartridge (it won't), it's an easy pass for me.
Happy days for those of you who have been waiting for Fallout to come to Switch though. Such a great experience on a handheld device.
@Medic_alert Understandable with driving in Cyberpunk without analog triggers, because I don't like it either.
I played mouse mode (Cyberpunk) for about 20 minutes before my hand started to cramp. It was fun for a bit but not something I could do for longer game sessions. So yes, a mouse accessory for the Joy-Con would be much appreciated.
@Medic_alert Gyro and mouse mode would make aiming much easier for the RE games on Switch 2. I'm pretty sure Capcom will take advantage of both. For example RE Revelations 1 & 2, RE 5 & 6 all support gyro aiming on Switch (run at 60fps on Switch 2).
I would choose the Switch version any day for all of the games mentioned above over the Xbox One & PS4 versions. The Steam version is the best played via Steam Deck OLED because of the higher frame rate and gyro support. But Switch would come in second.
If you own Cyberpunk 2077 for Switch 2, I suggest giving the gyro and mouse mode a shot. I played Cyberpunk docked at 30fps with split joy con and the gyro felt great, even with the lower frame rate and smaller thumbsticks on the joy cons.
A great port! All the different ways you can play Cyberpunk on Switch 2 make it stand out from the rest.
I recently tried out mouse mode and it works well but my hand was cramping after about 20 minutes.
My preferred way to play Cyberpunk, on Switch 2 would be with split Joy-Con and gyro aiming.
I'm currently replaying Cyberpunk on my Steam Deck OLED using remote play with gyro via PS5 Pro. The OLED screen, along with proper HDR and PS5 Pro visuals on a handheld screen! Chef's kiss!
@Automated_Unit_4937 I'm playing the PS5 version on my Pro using remote play on Steam Deck OLED. So yes, it does run at 60fps. Actually, it runs above 60fps on the Pro with VRR. But remote play caps out at 60. Do you know what remote play is?
I've had the game on Switch 2 since launch. Played mabey 8 hours or so.
It's a great port, but unfortunately, I'm not enjoying it playing in handheld mode. Even with a grip, the Joy Cons kinda ruin the experience for me.
Even with gyro, the tiny joysticks make moving and aiming feel awkward. The lack of analog triggers make driving vehicles more of a chore.
I could play on my OLED TV with the pro controller, but if I do that, I might as well play the PS5 version on my Pro instead.
So I started a new playthrough on my PS5 Pro with remote play using Steam Deck OLED.
It looks amazing in handheld mode on an OLED display with proper HDR, full sized thumbsticks, analog triggers, 4 back buttons and gyro running at 60 fps. The difference is night and day.
If so it will be a game key card. Along with RE 2, 3, and 4 Remake. The same goes with RE 7 & 8. Knowing, Capcom, I'm sure of it.
That kills any excitement of the games coming to Switch 2 for me. Prove me wrong. Until then, I'll stick with the Steam versions on my Steam Deck OLED for my RE portable fix. PS5 Pro for the big screen experience!
Game key card means I'll go with a physical PS5 copy for my Pro. Otherwise, I would have double dipped to show some support to 3rd party on Switch 2.
The visual downgrades and 30fps are understandable on a less powerful handheld device.
But I suppose when I want my portable fix of this, I will buy it a few years down the line on Steam and play it on Steam Deck 2. Same with Silent Hill 2.
@Bizzyb I agree. Shenmue 1 & 2 would be fine released on a Switch 1 game card since they are much older games and capped at 30 fps. If Shenmue 3 has a Switch 2 version only. I assume it will be a game key card. Hopefully not.
Nope, I've never had motion sickness playing any game in the 30 plus years I've been a gamer.
I can play games in a car, on a plane, in a train. You get the picture.
However, I have read that some people are complaining about the motion blur.
And a few other things while playing Donkey Kong Bananza, in handheld mode.
I'm assuming it's because of the poor screen quality of the Switch 2.
I have only been playing Donkey Kong Bonanza. In docked mode on my OLED TV and it looks great. Minus the over bright looking HDR, which I just turn off.
Personally, this game has too much button mashing for me to ever consider wanting to play it with the Joy-Cons. It's perfect for the Pro Controller and the back buttons. That's for sure. But that's besides the point.
@kerr9000 Same here. I was looking forward to playing Bravely Default, but I passed on it since it's a game key card. Which is unfortunate because I thoroughly enjoyed Bravely Default 2 on Switch.
I've been playing all morning and didn't notice an update. Maybe it wasn't live yet.
It's so addicting, and besides some minor frame drops here and there, the game looks and performs pretty well on Switch 2. My first Rune Factory game and I'm hooked!
I decided to give it a chance because it's one of the few Switch 2 games that's actually complete on cartridge. I'm pleasantly surprised!
@kmtrain83 Having to re-download games is a pet peeve of mine. I was for sure 1TB micro SD cards would be more than enough for my original Switch/Lite/OLED systems especially since most of my games are physical, but it still wasn't enough to last the entire generation.
So for the moment, I'm being choosy for what games I download to my Switch 2, because if I try to transfer my entire Switch 1 collection on there, the 512 GB express card would fill up fast.
I also like to keep my Internal Storage clear if possible. I don't know why, lol. Maybe for longevity of the console...
I was looking at this but I ended up going with the Titan grip from Mumba with the case.
No regrets. Not only is it dockable, it also protects the entire Switch 2 system from drops and the dock from scratching up my console (which I'm mostly worried about).
The grips around the Joy-Cons flip back. So I'm able to remove the Joy-Cons with the protector still attached to the system. It covers up the kickstand but provides its own kickstand which is even better then the one built into the Switch 2. Plus, the kickstand can hold 5 game cards and 2 micro sd express cards. Which is a nice little bonus.
The case holds the Switch 2 with the grip attached, of course. It also can store 12 more game cards. Plus additional storage for cables, earbuds, ect.
I ordered it from Amazon. $30 for the grip. $60 for the case and grip together. Or $70 if you want to add a 2 pack tempered glass screen protectors. Which is the bundle I ordered.
@EriXz Yeah, I was iffy about it as well. The read/write speeds and load times are similar to the Sandisk cards for half the price. I can't speak about longevity, of course. But at those prices, I'm willing to take the risk. I noticed ONN makes a bunch of other products, such as TV's, standard micro sd cards, ect.
I went with the 256GB ONN (Wal-Mart brand) micro sd express card at launch for $35. After seeing all of the great reviews it's been getting. I've used it for a few weeks and it's been great.
A few days ago, I noticed the 512GB ONN micro sd express card was back in stock for $65. So I upgraded to it. These two cards should hold me over until the 1TB cards go down in price.
@StandardMario Yup, I have the Sonic statue on my shelf. I even purchased a physical copy of the game. Since the Collector's Edition only came with a code in the box.
Highly recommended, Sonic Mania is an amazing game!
You can get it for dirt cheap when it goes on sale, which is pretty often.
Most of them I own, but I'm glad I waited on a few of these. I ordered Mario and Luigi Brothership & Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe yesterday from Best Buy for $40 each. Along with my pre-order of Donkey Kong Bananza. Both of my copies arrived today!
This game looked interesting when I picked up my Switch 2 at launch, and I didn't realize it had a proper physical release until just recently. My copy arrives on Friday and I can't wait to dive in. This will be my first Rune Factory game!
@ekwcll That is true. But I don't mind waiting a few years for a game to be dirt cheap on Steam ($10 or less). I trust Steam with my digital purchases to be available to me for years to come, more than I ever will with Nintendo.
When I upgrade to the inevitable, Steam Deck 2. All of my back catalog will look and run much better on the new hardware on Day 1. Can the same thing be said with Switch 3? (We don't know)
Yes, some PS5 games come with barely any data on the disc (DOOM The Dark Ages comes to mind) but if that's the case, I can wait for the physical version to drop down to $20 or less, much faster than the digital will.
Besides, I have 12 terabytes of storage for my PS5 Pro, and 6 terabytes on my Steam Deck OLED, compared to 512GB on my Switch 2.
So game key cards are pointless if they're going to eat up most of my storage for going the so called physical route, either way...
Give me a 40fps option (Cyberpunk 2077) for games that can't reach 60fps and I'd be content. A lot of games would shine in handheld mode at 40fps with VRR.
If Nintendo can get the dock updated properly to support VRR on TVs. That would be great! My Steam Deck OLED can take full advantage of my TVs (120hz at 1440p, HDR, VRR) so why can't my Switch 2?
Since most are game key cards or code in a box, I'll be skipping the Switch 2 versions. THPS 3+4 (PS5) No Sleep for Kaname Date (Steam) Patapon 1+2 (Steam)
Donkey Kong Bananza (Day 1), Super Mario Party Jamboree (later on), Shadow Labyrinth (mabey)
My Switch 2 Pro controller and copy of Cyberpunk arrived yesterday. I'm looking forward to trying both of those out over the weekend.
Even though I own them both on cartridge, I couldn't help but purchase Saints Row 3 & 4 bundle. Currently on sale through the Eshop for $3. I mean $1.50 per game is too good of a deal to pass up! Plus, both games run at 60 fps on Switch 2!
Other than that, I'm still rotating through the usuals. On Switch 2- RE6, RE Revelations 2 raid mode, Luigi's Mansion 2 Scare Scraper mode, Zombie Army 4.
With the Steam Summer Sale going on. I downloaded Blades of Time and Remember Me. So I'll be playing those on my Steam Deck OLED.
Glad I waited. I was about to buy one of these. I was looking forward to using the dock adapter, so the back of my Switch 2 doesn't get all scratched up like my OG Switch did.
I'll wait and see what kind of reviews the Satisfy Grip gets before purchasing it.
I can't believe Nintendo decided to make the same mistake with the Switch 2 dock. That hard plastic on the inside is going to scratch the front of your screen. The back of your system or both over time.
I gladly would have paid an extra $50-$100 more to have an OLED model as a Premium option at launch.
The 7.9 inch screen size is nice, though. I've been playing in tabletop mode regularly. Something I never do with OG Switch & Switch OLED.
I notice no difference with HDR on, (Unlike my Steam Deck OLED, which HDR looks amazing)so I just leave it off. I don't play outside in direct sunlight or anything. So having a brighter screen, doesn't really matter to me.
As of now, the system truly shines in docked mode to my LG OLED TV. Especially with improved performance to some games. Plus the battery life isn't that good. Another reason to keep a docked more often.
I'll be looking forward to an improved model in the next few years. With a better screen and improved battery life.
Damn, Spiegs! That's very unfortunate. I love my grip cover and carrying case for my Steam Deck OLED from Spigen (only Spigen product I own)
I'm currently using a cheap $20 case for my Switch 2. From a company called ONN, that I purchased from Wal-Mart. It has a zipper pouch that goes above the screen of the console also, but there's a little slit on the side that the zipper pull rests inside so it's not shaking around in the case.
But on the bright side, at least it was their screen protector that cracked and not the actual screen.
Received my Switch 2 on launch at midnight. No screen protector, so I didn't dock the system until the next day after my screen protector arrived in the mail.
I'm not worried about the screen, with the tempered glass protector on it. What I'm more worried about is the back of my Switch 2 system getting scratched up from the dock.
The back of my original Switch was all marked up from taking it in and out of the dock over the years. And I know over time, it will happen to my Switch 2.
I'm thinking about purchasing the D-brand Kill Switch case. Not only to protect my system and make the Joy-cons, more comfortable to hold (love using split Joy-con docked/tabletop) but to have that dock adapter. So I won't have to slide the tablet in and out of the dock, when I want to play on the TV.
I forgot to include Steam Deck OLED, for games I want to play on a handheld, but don't have a proper physical release (key card), games not available on Switch 1 or 2, and indies. Since the Steam Store is usually much cheaper than the Nintendo Eshop.
Don't worry my lovely PS5 Pro, even with the new addition to my family of consoles (Switch 2) at the rate, these third parties are going with game key cards. Most, if not all of my physical purchases, will remain with Playstation.
My Series X will remain a Backwards compatible & Game Pass machine.
So far, at least Switch 2 will be used for exclusives. And my massive back catalog of Switch 1 games.

Re: Surprise! Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Is Available Now On Switch & Switch 2
A bit too late for me, unfortunately, since I re-played through the Tomb Raider trilogy (reboot) last year on my Steam Deck OLED.
Tomb Raider runs very well on the Deck. High settings, 90fps, mouse like gyro.
I'd be interested in a physical release for Switch 2. No GKC.
Re: Poll: Have You Had Issues With The Ethernet Port On Switch 2's Dock?
No issues here. Sometimes I move my dock from the bedroom to the living room and it works just fine in both areas.
The wi-fi is vastly improved with the Switch 2, but I still prefer to use ethernet while gaming online or downloading updates.
Re: It's Official, Red Dead Redemption Is Coming To Switch 2 This December

Re: Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake Set To Haunt Your Switch 2 In 2026
@Banjo- Exactly! I have Fatal Frame 1 & 2 for original Xbox. If i'm not mistaken, I believe both games are backward compatible on 360.
I'll show my support in hopes of fatal frame 1 & 3 to receive the same treatment. I'd love a brand new FF game as well!
The camera combat is amazing with gyro controls! These games feel right at home on a handheld device!
Re: Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake Set To Haunt Your Switch 2 In 2026
Give me a proper physical release and I will gladly double dip. Just like I did with Maiden of Black Water and Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.
I'd be fine with a Switch 1 release. So at least I'd be able to play it in handheld mode on my Switch OLED. If not I'll pick up a copy for PS5.
It will be nice to play this on modern platforms. Without having to hook up the OG Xbox.
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Has Been Officially Confirmed For Switch 2
Nice for Switch 2 only gamers. I wouldn't mind the downgrade playing in portable mode. But the Switch 2 LCD display would do these games no favors.
Game key cards too. I'll play Requiem on PS5 Pro instead.

Re: Shenmue III Is Finally Confirmed For 'Nintendo' Platforms
Kinda pointless if Shenmue 1 & 2 don't come over to Switch 1/2 as well.
I have Shenmue 1 & 2 for PS4/Steam Deck OLED/Xbox One
Shenmue 3 for PS4/Steam Deck OLED
I'm a big Shenmue fan, so the only way this will excite me is if all three games receive proper physical versions for Switch.
Re: Persona 3 Reload Is Making The Jump To Switch 2 This October

Re: Square Enix Rules Out Switch 2 "Upgrade Path" For Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake
PS5 version it is. 6 months after release for half price ($30). Just like I did with my DQ3 Remake purchase last week.
I have a Switch 2. So there's no way I'm settling for the Switch 1 version with the worst performance or paying for a game key card.
Not even offering an upgrade path for Switch 1 to 2 is shady.

Re: Nintendo's Summer Deals Discounts Multiple Physical Switch Titles, Save Up To $20 (US)
@Hwatt It's funny that you mentioned a few of those games I just ordered through Amazon Prime deals.
Final Fantasy 1-6 Collection Anniversary Edition (Switch) $45 USD
Visions of Mana (PS5) $30 USD
Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake (PS5) $35 USD
Suikoden 1-2 Remastered (Switch) $30 USD
All physical copies, of course.
I highly recommend Dragon Quest 11 S for Switch or PS4. If you haven't played it. That was my first Dragon Quest game, and I loved it!
Re: Nintendo's Summer Deals Discounts Multiple Physical Switch Titles, Save Up To $20 (US)

Not part of the Prime deal. Best Buy has their own deals going on.
So I picked up physical copies of Mario and Luigi Brothership & Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe for $40 each.
They have some other Nintendo first party Switch games on sale for $40 each as well. But I already own them. Just a heads up for other people.
Re: Switch Port Experts Share Thoughts About Switch 2's "Raw" Performance
@OrtadragoonX You're correct. I did read a post about that a day or 2 ago.
I understand that a lot of people still don't even own VRR-capable displays, but for those of us that do, it'd be nice to take advantage of it.
My switch 2 can't even output on either of my TVs at 1440p with 120hz, only 1080p at 120hz or 4K 60hz.
The console is new and I'm sure the updates will come in time. I'm just being impatient.

Re: Switch Port Experts Share Thoughts About Switch 2's "Raw" Performance
Give me a 40fps option (Cyberpunk 2077) for games that can't reach 60fps and I'd be content. A lot of games would shine in handheld mode at 40fps with VRR.
If Nintendo can get the dock updated properly to support VRR on TVs. That would be great! My Steam Deck OLED can take full advantage of my TVs (120hz at 1440p, HDR, VRR) so why can't my Switch 2?
Re: Nintendo Highlights Multiple Switch 2 And Switch Games Launching In July 2025
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Dev Achieved 19% Profit Increase Last Financial Year
I'm still waiting on that XCX 60 fps patch for Switch 2. So I can go pick up a physical copy and start playing!
Re: 'Full Metal Schoolgirl' Announced For Switch 2, And It Looks Utterly Bonkers
As long as it's not on a game key card, sign me up! Otherwise, Steam Deck OLED it is!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (28th June)
Have a great weekend everyone! Happy gaming!
Re: Techland Skips Dying Light 'Retouched' Upgrade For Switch, Says There Are No Plans For A Switch 2 Version
Just unlock the frame rate again. Like the Switch 1 version originally ran. So Dying Light could run at 60 fps on Switch 2. I'd be happy with that.
At least I'll have the update for my PlayStation, Steam, & Xbox versions.
Re: PSA: DBrand's Switch 2 'Killswitch' Dock Adapter's 'Seamless Docking' Apparently Isn't Quite Seamless
Re: Digital Foundry Is "Happy" With Switch 2 But Feels The Screen Is "Problematic"
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (21st June)
I've had Switch 2 since launch and have been playing it nonstop. That will continue.
Mario Kart World - Knockout mode, I should try out free roam mode soon.
Pokémon Scarlet - Finally playable thanks to Switch 2 upgrade (60 fps)
RE 5 & 6 - Campaign, Mercenaries mode (60 fps)
RE Revelations 1 & 2 - Campaign, Raid mode (60 fps)
Zombie Army 4 - Horde mode
Switch 2 backward compatibility, really surprised me.
A bunch of my Switch 1 games look and run much better!
Have a good weekend everyone! Happy gaming!
Re: PSA: Spigen's Switch 2 Carry Case May Have A Potentially Console-Damaging Defect
Re: Poll: Has Your Switch 2's Screen Got Any Nasty Scratches Yet?
Re: As Switch 2 Breaks Records Worldwide, Sony Reminds Us That PS5 Still Exists
@Davestator Yep.
I forgot to include Steam Deck OLED, for games I want to play on a handheld, but don't have a proper physical release (key card), games not available on Switch 1 or 2, and indies. Since the Steam Store is usually much cheaper than the Nintendo Eshop.
Re: As Switch 2 Breaks Records Worldwide, Sony Reminds Us That PS5 Still Exists
Don't worry my lovely PS5 Pro, even with the new addition to my family of consoles (Switch 2) at the rate, these third parties are going with game key cards. Most, if not all of my physical purchases, will remain with Playstation.
My Series X will remain a Backwards compatible & Game Pass machine.
So far, at least Switch 2 will be used for exclusives. And my massive back catalog of Switch 1 games.
Re: Feature: 11 Games With 'Secret' Performance Bumps You Should Revisit On Switch 2
Resident Evil 5 & 6. Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2. Red Faction Guerilla. All 60 fps on Switch 2
