Made in Abyss Collector's Edition will be delivered tomorrow, along with The Last of Us Part 1.

Other then that, my Collector's Edition of TMNT Cowabunga Collection for Switch & Standard Edition for PS5 was delivered on Tuesday.

This week, I also picked up Dragonball Z Kakarot, Power Ranger Battle for the Grid Super Edition & Omori for Switch.

Plus I ordered a stack of PS5 games this week that were on sale. All $20 each, besides FF7 Intergrade, which was $40.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
Babylon's Fall
Hades
GTA V
Godfall
Scarlet Nexus
In Nightmare
Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 27th)

DTfearTheBEARD

Still playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I should be done soon. After XC3 I was thinking of starting XC Definitive Edition over, since i didn't finish it last time. My copy of Soul Hackers 2 (PS5) will be arriving today, so I'll probably play that. And mabey some Dying Light 2 co-op on Series X with a friend.

Have a great weekend everyone! Happy gaming!

Re: Nintendo Download: 25th August (North America)

DTfearTheBEARD

Was able to pre-order the Cowabunga Collection Collector's Edition last week! I'm so excited for that!

I finally ordered my own copy of Mario Party Superstars (played my sister's copy since release) which will be delivered tomorrow along with Soul Hackers 2 (PS5).

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 20th)

DTfearTheBEARD

@Mioaionios That's interesting. I didn't finish XC1, even though I put almost 100 hours into it. Playing XC3 has motivated me to go back and start XC1 all over and complete it this time. I hear a lot of complaints about XC2, but I picked up a copy a few months ago anyway. I don't want to play it until I beat XC1 and find a copy of Torna first. Do you know if XCX for Wii U is worth buying?

Re: Hori Reveals The Split Pad Fit For Nintendo Switch

DTfearTheBEARD

These look nice, I'll get a pair for my Switch OLED. I have 3 pairs of Split Pad Pro's which I like but don't really use anymore because I kinda replaced them with the Bin Bok Joy Con, which are more comfortable, plus they have gyro and standard rumble. I usually prefer to play in handheld mode but lately I've been playing my ACNH Switch docked to my LG C1 OLED tv with the Pro Controller. Mabey these will help me go back to playing handheld more often.

Still playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (50 hours) and loving it. GOTY contender definitely. Just started Blue Reflection Second Light on my PS5, I enjoyed it so much on Switch, that I had to pick up the PS4 copy as well. Nothing much on Series X at the moment, mabey the new Saints Row game will change that. We will see.

Have a great weekend everyone! Happy gaming!

Re: Video: Will Switch First-Party Games Ever Get A Permanent Price Drop?

DTfearTheBEARD

I must admit that I have seen more price drops than usual for Nintendo first party games at Best Buy. Usually no lower than $39.99, but it's something. I buy most first party Nintendo games day 1 anyways, and double dip on the ones that support local wireless play, but it would be nice to quadruple dip on games that support it (Smash Bros, Mario Kart, ect) but not at $60 each. Hopefully Nintendo Selects will be available sometime in the near future. If Switch was my only console, it would be a different story. But I have plenty of PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X games to purchase, not to mention all the 3rd party games that constantly release on Switch that I can't keep up with.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 6th)

DTfearTheBEARD

@Sam_ATLUS Xenoblade Chronicles 3 does look better in handheld mode, I agree. I haven't played XC2 yet (in backlog) but I heard it looks very blurry and low rez in handheld, so I'll probably stick to docked with that one. I love my Switch OLED and the gorgeous screen has me spoiled, so much so that I don't want to play on any of my Switch lites anymore unfortunately 😕. Same goes for my ACNH Switches, so I prefer to keep them docked on my OLED tv's. I guess I'm just being picky lol.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 6th)

DTfearTheBEARD

@Mioaionios It definitely is for me. When I'm sitting at my desk, I have my 48" OLED, so I would just use that. Can't really use tabletop mode comfortably in bed, so I'd play handheld. Plus I have a few portable monitors (15.6") that I barely use, but would be much bigger than the Switch OLED screen. If I didn't have a TV or monitor, I'd probably use it more often...

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 6th)

DTfearTheBEARD

@Sam_ATLUS @Mioaionios

After so many hours between you two on Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I'm curious. Do you play mostly handheld or docked? Or a mixture of both?

I've always been mostly a handheld player myself, especially with the Switch OLED. But lately I've been playing docked (ACNH Switch) with my non OLED Switch systems on my OLED tv. It's easier for me to play extended sessions in bed with split Joy Cons (for rpg & jrpg only) on my TV, compared to holding the Switch in handheld mode...

Re: Nikkei Report Says No New Nintendo Hardware Is Coming This Fiscal Year

DTfearTheBEARD

I'm fine with my Switch OLED, ACNH Switch, & Switch Lite systems for the next couple of years at least. I've even been playing docked mode more on both my 48" & 77" LG C1 OLED's and games look great! If I want better visuals with 4K, 120fps, VRR, HDR, ect then I'll play my Series X or PS5. The games are what keeps my attention, and Switch has them in spades. That's why I play my Switch more than my PS5 & Series X combined.

Re: YouTube And Crunchyroll On Wii U Won't Be Available For Much Longer

DTfearTheBEARD

I've had my Wii U since 2013 and I didn't even know it had Crunchyroll. I don't like using my Switch systems or any gaming consoles to watch content anyway (YouTube, Hulu, ect) because I'd rather play games on them. But I recently upgraded to a few LG C1 OLED tv's and use the browser on those to watch Crunchyroll now. So much more convenient, and I don't have to use my phone or tablet to watch Crunchyroll all the time anymore 😁

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Is Already Switch eShop's Top Seller, Unsurprisingly

DTfearTheBEARD

I was late to Xenoblade Chronicles. Didn't play it on Wii. I skipped the 3DS version. Didn't buy Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on release. When Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition was announced for Switch, I finally decided to buy it and was hooked. After that I ended up ordering XC 2 on Amazon because I couldn't find a copy anywhere locally. Didn't make that mistake again, so I pre-ordered a copy of XC3 to have on release and I'm enjoying it more than XC DE so far. Now I just need to order a copy of Torna, because once again I can't seem to find a copy anywhere in my area...

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 30th)

DTfearTheBEARD

I said I wasn't going to play Xenoblade Chronicles 3 until I finished XC1 and played XC2 first, but it came in the mail yesterday, so I popped it in my Switch OLED to see how it looks and wow it's gorgeous! And that soundtrack is amazing so far! The Switch speakers don't do it justice, so I'll be playing this gem on my LG C1 OLED. I still need to finish Live A Live, which I would have if I didn't start playing Ghostwire Tokyo (PS5) on the same day. So this weekend I'll be playing XC3, Live A Live, and finishing up the last few trophies for the Platinum on Ghostwire Tokyo.

Re: You Can Now Play Steam Games Using Your Retro Switch Controllers

DTfearTheBEARD

I still need to get 4 of those N64 controllers. They sell out so fast everytime they restock. The grey color is fine, but I wish Nintendo had a variety of controller colors to choose from, like the N64 days. I probably wouldn't even use them anyway, like I don't with the Snes controllers sitting on my shelf.
But I'm a controller junkie, so I can't help it 😂
