Re: Hideki Kamiya Thanks Nintendo For Helping Make Bayonetta 3 A Reality

DTfearTheBEARD

Bought Bayonetta 1 & 2 for Wii U day 1 but never got around to playing them. Also bought both games for Switch day 1. Finished Bayonetta 1 this morning. Challenging game on normal mode, but I enjoyed it.

I'll start Bayonetta 2 today. Hopefully it will be a little more forgiving lol.

Bayonetta 3 Masquerade Edition is sitting pretty on my shelf. I hope it sells well and we see a Bayonetta 4 someday...

Re: Poll: Bayonetta 3 Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?

DTfearTheBEARD

@Chlocean Portable play is a major selling point for me. I usually double dip on games for Switch for that reason alone (mostly) or because of gyro controls, local wireless play, ect...

If you plan on playing Bayonetta 1 mostly docked, I suggest you pick up a copy of Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th anniversary edition. If you have a PS4 Pro or PS5, Xbox One or Series X/S also. It runs at a higher resolution (1440p) and a smoother 60fps over the Switch version.

Bayonetta 1 looks great in handheld mode (especially on a Switch OLED) but docked to a 4k TV, the lower resolution looks pretty rough compared to my PS4 version on PS5...

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th October (North America)

DTfearTheBEARD

@JustMonika I'll add it to the list. I have so many games I need to order from Play-Asia

Too many games, it never ends 🤣🤣🤣

Life is Strange Arcadia Bay Collection is decent on Switch. It looks okay in handheld mode on the Switch OLED. The load times are terrible and LIS Before the Storm isn't on the cartridge. It's nice to have these games on a handheld tho. I'd definitely choose the PS4 or Xbox One versions, instead of playing the Switch version docked...

Re: Review: Chaos;Child - A Stand Out 'Science Adventure' VN That's Compelling And Gruesome

DTfearTheBEARD

@JustMonika I'm used to the weight of the Switch OLED and I like to game in handheld mode laying down, But with Chaos;Head it's mostly reading text and pressing A or putting it on auto.

Lol, I can't have anime playing in the background, because I'd want to focus on it haha. Unless it's one I've already seen, I suppose. And I'd definitely have to play Bioshock with headphones on lol.

Re: Review: Chaos;Child - A Stand Out 'Science Adventure' VN That's Compelling And Gruesome

DTfearTheBEARD

@JustMonika I thought this collection would be perfect for handheld play, but my arms get tired holding my Switch OLED playing this in bed while reading all of the text lol. So I play this docked to my 77" LG C1 OLED while laying down with split Joy Cons in each hand haha. Even though all of the reading does make me sleepy lmao. I'm loving the first game so far! I hope you enjoy it too!

Re: Random: Hideki Kamiya Echoes Every Nintendo Fan's Wishes For The Switch Successor

DTfearTheBEARD

@BloodNinja If you're limited on space, I suggest upgrading to an 48" LG C1 OLED. It should sit on your desk just fine (mine does). You can use it for gaming and as a PC monitor. Plus the C1 is usually on sale (around $800) since the C2 is available. I used to play mostly handheld on my Switch but now I'm split between handheld mode and gaming at my desk on the 48" LG C1. I also prefer to play my Series X & PS5 at my desk, even though I have a 77" LG C1 also. I upgraded from a 28" Samsung G7 gaming monitor to the 48" LG C1 OLED and never looked back.

Re: Another 25 Games That Are Better On Switch OLED

DTfearTheBEARD

@Wexter I agree, OLED screens are amazing! I could never go back to an LED/LCD screen. Hopefully the next Switch does support HDR.
Switch 2 with an OLED screen at 720p with HDR and most/all games running at 60fps would be perfect. Docked with upscaled 1440p/4K would be great as well!

Re: Another 25 Games That Are Better On Switch OLED

DTfearTheBEARD

Every game looks better on the Switch OLED! Especially horror/Halloween style games (Alien Isolation, Fatal Frame, Luigi's Mansion 3, ect)

It makes it difficult to go back to playing games on any of my Switch lite systems.

Both of my ACNH Switch consoles stay docked to my LG C1 OLED tv's, because I wouldn't want to play them in portable mode anymore...

Re: School Girl Ninja Hack 'N Slash Samurai Maiden Launches On Switch December 8

DTfearTheBEARD

@Chunkboi79 You would think most games would support gyro on PS4/PS5 but unfortunately that's not the case. The list is very small, especially compared to Switch.

I like gaming on my PS5/Series X with 4k, 120fps, VRR, HDR, ect on my OLED tv. But the Switch has spoiled me with portable play. It's nice to be able to play all of the Nintendo exclusives & 3rd party ports without having to be tethered to a TV all the time to do so.

But I agree, Switch and PS5 is a perfect combo right now! I'm fortunate enough to have those along with a Series X.

Re: School Girl Ninja Hack 'N Slash Samurai Maiden Launches On Switch December 8

DTfearTheBEARD

I agree for the most part. But It does depend on the game. For example, I like to play Zombie Army 4 on Switch (30fps) because it has gyro controls! Even though I have the option to play ZA4 on my PS5 and Series X with 4K, 60fps, ect.

I'm a big handheld gamer, so I usually double dip on games for PS5 and Switch. To have the best console version to play on the big screen and have a portable version as well. Plus I'm a big fan of local wireless play, so for Switch I usually double dip on multiple copies of the same game.
Example- Zombie Army 4, Tony Hawk, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, and the list goes on lol.

Atelier Ryza 3, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Luner Eclipse, It Takes Two(2 copies), and Sponge Bob I will buy copies all for Switch. Fatal Frame & Sponge Bob I'll also get for PS5.

Games like Hogwarts Legacy & Final Fantasy Crisis Core I'll probably only buy for PS5. But Octopath Traveler 2 & Atelier Ryza 3 I'll most likely only get for Switch. So I pick and choose. The decision can be difficult sometimes, for me at least haha.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 17th)

DTfearTheBEARD

I recently upgraded to PS Plus Premium, so I downloaded a few games that caught my attention. Stray,(even though I have the physical copy coming this week)YS 9 Monstrom Knox, Vampyr,(loved it on Switch) Infamous First Light.

On Switch I'm still playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (130 hours) trying to complete all of the side quests (I swear this game will never end). A little Cowabunga Collection on the side and I started Crystar a few days ago, which I like so far.

Re: Ion Fury Follow-Up Phantom Fury Announced For Nintendo Switch

DTfearTheBEARD

@JustMonika Exactly! It does give me Duke Nukem vibes. I love that it has gyro aiming and if you put in the Konami code it upgrades the framerate from 30 to 60fps. I haven't looked at those games yet. With so much gaming news and announcements this week, I'm still playing catch up. Samurai Maiden definitely caught my attention though. Have you seen the trailer for that?
