Ever since I bought the Steam Deck oled, PS5, Series X, & Switch haven't been played as much...
I'm currently playing RDR2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Resident Evil 6 & Max Payne 3 all on the Deck oled. Steam Deck is my first PC/handheld so PC gaming is new to me.
Being able to adjust resolution, frame rate, and add gyro to any and every game makes this system a dream come true to me!
@SearchingS Unfortunately, the Playstation version doesn't give you options to adjust the gyro sensitivity (Thanks Capcom) but it's better than nothing.
Steam Deck gives you complete control at a system level. So it's much better!
I agree, the shooting range was terrible for me on the Xbox version.
@SearchingS What platform did you play RE4 Remake on? I have the Platinum for the PS4, PS5, & Steam versions thru Steam deck. Same with the Series X version.
On Playstation and Steam, you can use gyro, which is an absolute game changer! Even playing on Steam Deck at 30fps the aiming is so much easier (with gyro) vs the Series X version at 60fps.
@SearchingS Hard to explain but it just feels wonky and sluggish. Mabey it's because I'm used to more modern games at the moment. I don't remember it being an issue with the 360 version. I should pop in the disc on my Series X to see if it's different.
I disagree. Aiming in games are much better at 60fps vs 30fps. Redfall comes to mind, for example.
Honestly I thought this was already on Switch. I bought a physical copy for PS5 last year and really enjoyed it. Downloaded it on my Steam Deck and it ran between 30-40 fps at 720p on low settings. I wonder how the Switch version will look/play.
October was a packed month with Spider-Man 2 & Mario Wonder. Plus some other games I know I'm forgetting. Sega games usually go on sale pretty fast. I waited a few months and picked up a copy of Sonic Superstars for $20 a week or so ago from Best Buy. I did the same thing with Sonic Frontiers the year before. I like Sonic but I'm not spending $60 on a Sonic game day 1 that I know will be half price or less within a month or two.
That's good. I bought two 1 TB micro sd cards for my Deck since Amazon had a sale going last week. I had to redo the steps to get Game Pass back on my Deck this morning but unfortunately, I'm having problems putting Playstation remote play back on. Did you have any issues with that?
@Rpg-lover Yes you did! I'll have to check it out. Last night I upgraded my 64gb internal storage to a 1TB SSD. I've been playing Starfield on xcloud with my Deck connected to my portable monitor with gyro and it's been a great experience! 👍
Ever since my Steam Deck arrived on Monday, I've been on it nonstop. Downloading games from the Steam store (GTA 4, F.E.A.R. collection, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, Dying Light, and more). Plus, using the Deck to play Game Pass games via the cloud & PS5 through remote play. Being able to add gyro support to games that don't even have the option is pretty mind-blowing that it works for my PS5 & Series X games as well. This all in one handheld is amazing! I'm very impressed!
Options to play this on PS5 or Series X thru PS Plus Premium and Game Pass. If I enjoy it, then I'll pick up a physical copy for Switch when it releases.
@Rpg-lover I'm the same way. I already have a bad habit of buying and downloading games thru sales and Game Pass/PS Plus Premium on PS5 & Series X.
Plus my backlog of Switch games over the past 6+ years. How much harm can 1 more system do? Lol.
I've been adding games to my wish list on Steam these past few days while waiting for the Deck to arrive. over 100 on the list so far, haha.
One thing I'll miss while using the Steam Deck is playing on an OLED display. After using the Switch OLED and playing PS5 & Series X on my OLED TV's these past few years, It kinda sucks going back to LCD. Mabey the Steam Deck 2 will have an OLED option...
I tend to double and triple dip on games I love, like RE 2, 3, & 4. Which I own for Playstation, Xbox, & now for Steam here soon.
Can you play the Resident Evil games on a Micro SD card? or is it SSD only?
@Rpg-lover I appreciate the information. It's nice to know they run well on the deck. I'll mostly be playing at home so battery life isn't a concern for me.
Besides being able to play games on a handheld that doesn't come to Switch, having the option to add gyro to games that don't even support it is a big reason why I wanted a Steam Deck. Well, that and it's a more affordable way for me to get into PC gaming.
@Rpg-lover I'm really looking forward to playing RE 2, 3, & 4 in portable mode. How well does it run on the Deck? I'm assuming you can use gyro aiming? Sorry for all the questions. My Steam Deck will be arriving on Monday and I'm pretty excited!
After over a year since it launched, I've decided it's time to order a Steam Deck. While I patiently wait for it to arrive on Monday, I'll continue playing-
Series X- Texas Chain Saw Massacre
Switch- Red Dead Redemption
PS5- recently downloaded Genshin Impact & Tower of Fantasy. so I'll try those out soon...
@Rainbowfire Bayonetta Origins is such an amazing experience! I went back and finished it about a week or so ago. I'm sure it didn't sell well, and I don't hear many people talk about it, which is a shame. It's in my top 5 best games I've played this year so far, and this year has been great for gaming. I hope you enjoy it 😁.
October is already packed enough with releases, so Batman will have to wait for a price drop. Especially since only Asylum will be on the cart. I've been waiting years for these games to come to Switch. It's nice to see them finally arriving soon.
I'm really looking forward to this one. It's coming to PS Plus Extra and Game Pass, so I'll play it on PS5 or Series X and pick up a physical copy for Switch whenever that releases.
@RiasGremory Yeah, I have a list of games I want to import from Play-Asia. Have you ordered from them before? If so, how was the experience? I'm a big fan of Rias Gremory also 😍 lol.
Atelier Ryza got me into this series and now I'm hooked. I'm not a fan of the art style in this one, but since the game seems to be good i can look past it. I'll have to add this to my list of imports.
I love the Batman Arkham trilogy, and if it gets a proper physical release on Switch, it will be a day 1 pick up. But I'm sure it will be digital only or a half cart half download release.
Some of the games in the collection available via download code instead of being on the disc/cartridge is enough to make me wait for a discount of $20 or less before I pick up a copy. I have plenty of others games to spend my money on at the moment. Thanks, Sega.
I have the other Ace Attorney games on Switch cartridges. I still have yet to play them, but I'll definitely pick this up day 1 as long as it has a physical release.
Yesterday was my birthday, so I decided to treat myself to a Splatoon 3 Switch OLED console to add to my collection. It's easily my favorite of all the special edition OLED systems. So over the weekend I'll be downloading 1tb worth of games/updates to it. I just did this last month with TOTK Switch OLED 😳.
Other then that, I'm still playing through Breath of the Wild before I start TOTK.
I already have 12 pairs of joy cons and I only use 2 pairs split while playing on the TV laying in bed and the others are on display on my shelf. These are nice so I'll have to get both pairs. Nintendo is always taking my money 😏
I didn't buy a Switch system in April, but I did purchase the Zelda OLED in May. My birthday is next month so I'm thinking of picking up the Splatoon OLED model also.
I understand the convenience of going all digital, especially for a hybrid system. But I will always prefer physical media for preservation and I like to collect games.
Better deals and using less SD storage also makes choosing cartridges over digital an even easier decision.
I agree. I bought my 1TB micro SD cards for $300 each a few years back. It's nice to see how far the price has dropped since then. Same with SSD's for PS5 at least, not so much for Series X/S yet...
Mabey I'll use this code for a second playthrough sometime in the future. The difficulty is on the easier side and that's fine. I'm about halfway through and enjoying every moment of it, from the beautiful watercolor art style to amazing soundtrack.
I'm sad to see it's not selling very well.
Bayonetta Origins is a gem! It's in my top 5 games of the year!
That's nice. Same here, Nintendo is always my main console but Playstation is right behind it. Series X has been mostly a GamePass and back-compat machine for me the past year or so.
@Ryu_Niiyama 600+ Switch games? Damn and I thought I needed help lmfao. I'd probably be around that if PS4/PS5 & Xbox One/Series X games didn't take up half of my monthly gaming budget. Is Switch your only console?
I was so sure 1TB Micro SD cards would be more than enough to last me the entire Switch gen easily. About 95% of my collection is physical and I have about 90gb left on my 1TB cards 🫤. Hopefully a 2TB card will be announced soon.
As far as standard controllers go, the Switch Pro controller is the best Nintendo has made so far.
HD rumble, great battery life, big face buttons, nice design.
Besides the drift issues, I really like the joy-cons and prefer to use split joy-con while gaming in bed docked to the TV. Especially for rpg's, visual novels, and shooters with gyro aiming.
The Gamecube controller (WaveBird) will always hold a special place in my heart. It's perfect for games designed for it (Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart Double Dash, Smash Bros Melee, ect.
I'm also a big fan of the Wii U gamepad and pick it over the Wii U Pro controller any day. But the Wii U Pro controller has the best battery I've seen on a controller. I had to charge them mabey twice a year.
When It comes to Xbox, the Elite Series 2 is definitely my favorite controller.
Playstation now has my favorite controller of all time with the Dualsense Edge.
Was able to pre-order from Best Buy a few days ago. I'm looking forward to adding this beautiful OLED system to my collection. I'm not looking forward to downloading 1TB worth of updates, though. Which reminds me that I need to order another 1TB micro SD card and pack of screen protectors.
I didn't pre-order any games this week. But I couldn't resist the temptation to pre-order the Zelda OLED system from Best Buy last night. Another Switch system is the last thing I should be buying, but I can't help it. This should (hopefully) be my last Nintendo console until a next gen Nintendo system comes out...
Barely 1 million sales? Seems kinda low to me. I never thought these games would be released on modern platforms. Such a great collection of many of my favorite childhood games right here. I had to double dip on the Collector's Edition for Switch & a stand copy for PS5. I'll probably buy a copy for Xbox as well.

Re: Red Dead Redemption Gets An Update On Switch, Here Are The Patch Notes
@yohn777 I noticed that on the Digital Foundry video, which is surprising because Red Dead runs at 4k on Series X thru back compat.
I'll definitely pick up a copy for Playstation after a price drop. I'm fine with the 360 and Switch versions until then.
Hopefully, Rockstar will bring Red Dead to Steam Deck as well.

Re: Red Dead Redemption Gets An Update On Switch, Here Are The Patch Notes
How about an update to add gyro? The aiming in this game is terrible. I know you can use auto aim. But I'm not a fan of that.
I'll pick-up a copy for PS5 soon! 60fps should help with that. Plus trophy support!
Re: 'Lake' Delivers Peaceful Narrative Postage On Switch Today

Re: Review: Alisa Developer's Cut (Switch) - An Excellent RE Homage That Nails The '90s Vibe
Give me a physical release, and I'll buy a copy for PS5 & Switch. If not, I'll wait for a sale and probably download it on my Steam Deck.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Super Mario Bros. Wonder?
Have my copy pre-ordered along with Spider-Man 2 thru Best Buy.
Now I have to wait for them to be delivered.
Re: Nintendo Download: 19th October (North America)
No digital purchases for me but I've got Mario Wonder & Spider-Man 2 pre-ordered from Best Buy.
Gargoyles, Persona 3, & Jurassic Park Collection pre-ordered from Limited Run.
That's all for this week.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 26th)
@Rpg-lover Glad to hear it!
SanDisk Extreme 1TB is the same Micro SD card I'm ordering for it. Once again, I appreciate all of the info.
Have a great weekend and happy gaming!

I'll wait for reviews first after dealing with the terrible performance of the GTA Trilogy on Switch at launch.
If the game looks and runs well, it'll be a day 1 physical purchase. If not, I'll wait for a sale.
I have the 360 version on my Series X. So I'll wait for a discount before I pick up a PS4 copy for my PS5.

Switch- Bayonetta Origins, Resident Evil 6 (Mercenaries), Atelier Ryza
PS5- Dead Island 2 (co-op), Fatal Frame Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, Overcooked All You Can Eat, Blue Reflection
Xbox Series X- F.e.a.r., Gears 2, Coffee Talk
I'll also probably stare at my Zelda TOTK Switch OLED and then put it back in the box.
Have a great weekend, everyone. Happy Gaming!

Switch number 10 for me. Now I just want a limited edition Metroid Switch OLED and I'll be content.

I was so sure 1TB Micro SD cards would be more than enough to last me the entire Switch gen easily. About 95% of my collection is physical and I have about 90gb left on my 1TB cards 🫤. Hopefully a 2TB card will be announced soon.
