I've never heard of K-ON. Is it on Crunchyroll? Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out is great! I just binged the first season a few days ago. Idk why I didn't watch it sooner. I heard Chainsaw Man is good, but I haven't watched it yet. Did you watch Lycoris Recoil or Engage Kiss? I enjoyed both of those. I really want a Season 2 of My Dress Up Darling!
@JustMonika I'm used to the weight of the Switch OLED and I like to game in handheld mode laying down, But with Chaos;Head it's mostly reading text and pressing A or putting it on auto.
Lol, I can't have anime playing in the background, because I'd want to focus on it haha. Unless it's one I've already seen, I suppose. And I'd definitely have to play Bioshock with headphones on lol.
@JustMonika I thought this collection would be perfect for handheld play, but my arms get tired holding my Switch OLED playing this in bed while reading all of the text lol. So I play this docked to my 77" LG C1 OLED while laying down with split Joy Cons in each hand haha. Even though all of the reading does make me sleepy lmao. I'm loving the first game so far! I hope you enjoy it too!
@BloodNinja If you're limited on space, I suggest upgrading to an 48" LG C1 OLED. It should sit on your desk just fine (mine does). You can use it for gaming and as a PC monitor. Plus the C1 is usually on sale (around $800) since the C2 is available. I used to play mostly handheld on my Switch but now I'm split between handheld mode and gaming at my desk on the 48" LG C1. I also prefer to play my Series X & PS5 at my desk, even though I have a 77" LG C1 also. I upgraded from a 28" Samsung G7 gaming monitor to the 48" LG C1 OLED and never looked back.
@Wexter I agree, OLED screens are amazing! I could never go back to an LED/LCD screen. Hopefully the next Switch does support HDR. Switch 2 with an OLED screen at 720p with HDR and most/all games running at 60fps would be perfect. Docked with upscaled 1440p/4K would be great as well!
I'll pass if it's digital only. Hopefully a physical release will happen. At least I'll be able to play the games on Game Pass day 1!
Even though I'd prefer to play these games in handheld mode...
@rawzeku Wow, it's that bad? I guess I'll skip it then. It sucks to hear that some of the content won't be translated to English properly. Maybe I'll watch a playthrough after I finish it to see what I missed.
@BenAV I read a few comments on Crunchy Roll saying the anime was too short and left out a lot of information. Thanks for the advice. I'll play the games first. Probably after I finish Life is Strange Collection.
I'm starting to like visual novels more and more, especially on Switch. Glad I pre-ordered the physical double pack, which will be delivered today. I'm curious if I should watch the anime first or play the games?
My copy of Nier Automata came in today and I have the Chaos double pack steelbook collection coming in tomorrow. Also Inertial Drift Twilight Rivals Edition for PS5 coming in Saturday. That's all for this week.
Looks fine to me in handheld mode on my Switch OLED. The load times are terribly long though. Another thing I don't like is that Before the Storm isn't on the cartridge. Other then that, it's nice to have this collection along with True Colors on Switch. These games are perfect for handheld play!
Pre-ordered my physical copy weeks ago. It's a great price at $40. So happy to hear it's one of the best looking games in portable mode, because that's the way I'll be playing it (Switch OLED)
Been waiting years for a physical release! It's finally almost here! I'll pick up copies for PS4 & Switch. I haven't played the DLC yet, so I'm excited for that.
I would probably buy them but after using the Bin Bok joy cons, I can't even go back to any of my original Split Pad Pro's. The Bin Boks have standard rumble and gyro controls, which these and split pads do not.
I'm fine for now with Persona 5 Royal physical for Switch on pre-order. Soul Hackers 2 for PS5. And Persona 3 & 4 (hopefully physical) coming next year!
@Chunkboi79 You would think most games would support gyro on PS4/PS5 but unfortunately that's not the case. The list is very small, especially compared to Switch.
I like gaming on my PS5/Series X with 4k, 120fps, VRR, HDR, ect on my OLED tv. But the Switch has spoiled me with portable play. It's nice to be able to play all of the Nintendo exclusives & 3rd party ports without having to be tethered to a TV all the time to do so.
But I agree, Switch and PS5 is a perfect combo right now! I'm fortunate enough to have those along with a Series X.
I'll wait for reviews first before I decide if I want to buy another Sonic game day 1. I was thinking about getting it for PS5 anyway, but I must admit that 1080p 60fps is kinda disappointing. Give me 1440p with an uncapped framerate with VRR support at least...
I'm already sold! My physical copy has been pre-ordered. Idk if I'll be playing this day 1 since October is packed with Switch releases (Persona 5, Bayonetta 3, TMNT Shredder's Revenge, Yomawari Lost in the Darkness) but it will be on my shelf waiting either way.
I agree for the most part. But It does depend on the game. For example, I like to play Zombie Army 4 on Switch (30fps) because it has gyro controls! Even though I have the option to play ZA4 on my PS5 and Series X with 4K, 60fps, ect.
I'm a big handheld gamer, so I usually double dip on games for PS5 and Switch. To have the best console version to play on the big screen and have a portable version as well. Plus I'm a big fan of local wireless play, so for Switch I usually double dip on multiple copies of the same game. Example- Zombie Army 4, Tony Hawk, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, and the list goes on lol.
Atelier Ryza 3, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Luner Eclipse, It Takes Two(2 copies), and Sponge Bob I will buy copies all for Switch. Fatal Frame & Sponge Bob I'll also get for PS5.
Games like Hogwarts Legacy & Final Fantasy Crisis Core I'll probably only buy for PS5. But Octopath Traveler 2 & Atelier Ryza 3 I'll most likely only get for Switch. So I pick and choose. The decision can be difficult sometimes, for me at least haha.
I want this, but for PS5 instead of Switch. Physical though, not digital. Looks like I'll have to import. Mabey I'll order a copy along with Fatal Frame.
I recently upgraded to PS Plus Premium, so I downloaded a few games that caught my attention. Stray,(even though I have the physical copy coming this week)YS 9 Monstrom Knox, Vampyr,(loved it on Switch) Infamous First Light.
On Switch I'm still playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (130 hours) trying to complete all of the side quests (I swear this game will never end). A little Cowabunga Collection on the side and I started Crystar a few days ago, which I like so far.
@JustMonika I never heard of Rise of the Triad, so I have no nostalgia for it. I've also never been a PC gamer, but the trailer looks good. Prodeus looks gorgeous, definitely gives me Doom vibes. I see it's coming to Game Pass. I'll play it on my Series X day 1!
@JustMonika Hopefully I'll get to it one of these days. I see the physical copy on Play-Asia. The next few months are booked with pre-orders for me. I definitely won't look up a guide though, lol trial and error is all apart of the fun!
@JustMonika Exactly! It does give me Duke Nukem vibes. I love that it has gyro aiming and if you put in the Konami code it upgrades the framerate from 30 to 60fps. I haven't looked at those games yet. With so much gaming news and announcements this week, I'm still playing catch up. Samurai Maiden definitely caught my attention though. Have you seen the trailer for that?
@JustMonika oh okay lol. Happy belated birthday! I was born in 1989. So I have around 30 years of gaming experience. Visual novels are pretty new to me also. I like them so far.
@Octane_st1m That mabey true. I double dip on games that support local wireless play anyway, so the friends pass means nothing to me. If you have a Series X or PS5, I suggest playing It Takes Two on one of those consoles. For higher resolution and smooth 60fps performance with split screen. You and your wife should have fun with this game. My girlfriend and I enjoyed playing this and overcooked together.
@JustMonika 40 years? How old are you exactly? Haha just kidding. I'll add those to the ever growing wish list. Thanks, I appreciate the recommendations!
@JustMonika oh okay, lol. I prefer physical over digital, so if you have any other suggestions with physical releases for Switch and or PS5, I'm all ears haha!
Even though I have the PS4 version, I want 2 copies of the Switch version, since it supports local wireless play. But not at full price, I'll wait until it drops down to $20 or less..
I'm still waiting for 2TB micro sd cards to become a thing. My 1TB cards have around 190gb left, and my collection is 95% physical. I was sure that 1TB cards would be enough to last me the entire Switch generation, but it doesn't seem like it anymore...
I can't wait to play Bayonetta 3, it might be the game I play on Halloween! I've got my Collector's Edition pre-ordered, along with a physical copy of Bayonetta 1 for Switch. I also purchased the 10th anniversary collection of Bayonetta 1/ Vanquish, just to Bayonetta on my PS5!
Just picked up a copy of Ryza 2 on sale last week from Best Buy. I haven't played it yet. I'll definitely pick up a copy of Ryza 3 on release, assuming it will have a physical version of course.
@JustMonika That's true. I didn't think about Play-Asia. Besides, I have a list of games I wanted to order from them anyway. I've never heard of Food Girls, but now I'm interested to look it up, lol.
I'm really looking forward to this one. Any word on a physical release? I know Fatal Frame 5 wasn't released here physically in the states, so I imported a copy off Amazon. I'll do the same with this, if available. I should probably get a physical copy of Fatal Frame 5 for PS4 also...
Edit: Just ordered a copy of Fatal Frame Maiden of Black Water for PS4. Now I have the Switch & PS4 versions. I want physical copies of this for Switch & PS4 also!
My Collector's Edition is sitting on the shelf. I bought the PS4 version to play on my PS5. I didn't know how well the Switch version would perform. Guess I'll wait a little while and watch the second season before I start playing it.
Still waiting for physical pre-orders to go up here in the US. All of my other September/October/November games have been pre-ordered since last month...
Such an amazing game and the voice acting is top notch, from the complete cast. And I love the art style, so much so that I'm constantly taking pictures and screenshots when I play this game!
Started The Last of Us Part 1 last night, and what an upgrade visually and sound quality wise from the Remaster on PS4. My most favorite thing about the game is hands down the included gyro controls, thanks Naughty Dog! Made in Abyss Collector's Edition was delivered yesterday also, but that and Soul Hackers 2 will be on the backlog until I Platinum TLOU Part 1. Other then that, I'm still finishing up side quests on Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (120 hours) it seems like this game will never end! I love it but I'm kinda getting burned out and ready to move on. I'll probably play some TMNT Cowabunga Collection on the side, when I need a break from the other 2 games.

Re: PSA: Remember To Update Your Switch Joy-Con And Pro Controllers
After all these years, I didn't know the Pro Controller had updates😳. I have 12 pairs of Joy Con, so updating those is always fun 😖.
Re: Another 25 Games That Are Better On Switch OLED
@Wexter I agree, OLED screens are amazing! I could never go back to an LED/LCD screen. Hopefully the next Switch does support HDR.
Switch 2 with an OLED screen at 720p with HDR and most/all games running at 60fps would be perfect. Docked with upscaled 1440p/4K would be great as well!
Re: Another 25 Games That Are Better On Switch OLED
Every game looks better on the Switch OLED! Especially horror/Halloween style games (Alien Isolation, Fatal Frame, Luigi's Mansion 3, ect)
It makes it difficult to go back to playing games on any of my Switch lite systems.
Both of my ACNH Switch consoles stay docked to my LG C1 OLED tv's, because I wouldn't want to play them in portable mode anymore...

Decided to pre-order White day for PS5, which will be delivered tomorrow. I mostly bought PS5 games this week including:
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania
Madison
Oxide Room 104
Doki Doki Literature Club Plus
The Pathless
Hot Wheels Unleashed
Ever Forward
Fobia
But I did buy some Switch games:
Atelier Sophie 2
Life is Strange True Colors
CryStar

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 3rd)
Have a great weekend, everyone! Happy gaming!
