Re: Reminder: Nintendo Switch 2's New Joy-Con Set Is Out This Week

DTfearTheBEARD

I have an extra pair of joy lock grips from D Brand lying around. So, I'll buy these, to put them to use.

The grips make split joycon gameplay much more comfortable. They even make mouse mode bearable for more than 20 minutes without my hand cramping.

Split joycon is my preferred way to play while using the joycon, especially for games that support gyro (CyberPunk, RE Revelations 1 & 2, RE 5 & 6, ect)

Re: GDC Survey Shows Switch 2 Is Proving To Be A Desirable Platform For Developers

@spiderman0616 I've been a fan of Xbox since the original. The 360 was easily my only console of choice during that generation.

I love PlayStation, but Sony needs competition. So does Nintendo, that's why I'm excited for the next PlayStation portable.

Series X would most likely be the last Xbox console. I buy, but if Microsoft can pull off a PC style box (Steam Machine). That's powerful and gives me access to my entire Steam library. I would be interested depending on price. Of course.

They clearly cannot compete with Sony any more. So it's understandable that they're trying to go another route. Next gen should be interesting.

Switch 2 being a high priority for developers Isn't surprising to me.

I love my Steam Deck OLED, but it hasn't exactly set the world on fire in terms of sales.
Seeing it so high up on the list makes me happy!

PS5 Pro & Steam Deck OLED are my go to devices. I still like my Switch 2. But I haven't played it as much lately.

Such a shame for Series X. Because the hardware is great!

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake's Sequels Will Have "Exactly The Same" Gameplay As Other Consoles

DTfearTheBEARD

I'm currently playing through Rebirth on my PS5 Pro, and it looks amazing. I know the game looked terrible on base PS5. It kind of reminded me of impossible Switch 1 ports where the screen looked like vaseline was smeared across it, it was so blurry.

It will be interesting to see how Rebirth runs on Switch 2. I'll be playing part 3 on my Pro. But it's nice to know that Switch 2 owners will be able to play all three games in the trilogy. The same goes for Xbox players.

Re: PSA: Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition On Switch 2 And Switch Has Been Updated To Version 1.0.2

Gyro should be a standard option for any game that could potentially take advantage of it. The fact that they grayed it out instead of fixing it is laziness.

Switch 2 even supports mouse controls. Between the hybrid nature and multiple controller options (Pro controller, split joy cons, gyro, mouse mode) A lot of these especially older titles, should be the definitive way to play on Switch 2 as far as consoles go. Minus some graphical downgrades here and there, of course.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem's Latest Trailer Teases Bustling City Environment

DTfearTheBEARD

@Solid_Python But the thing is I WANT to play the games on Switch 2. I'm just not a fan of game key cards, is all.

But no, I buy the newer more demanding games for PS5 Pro, not Steam Deck.
I just remote, play them to Steam Deck OLED, sometimes.

I have, and always will be a fan of Nintendo (30+ years). I just wish the third party support offered more proper physical releases.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem's Latest Trailer Teases Bustling City Environment

DTfearTheBEARD

I'm excited to see how it will look on my PS5 Pro with the Pro enhancements. Given Capcoms track record with Pro upgrades for RE, I'm sure it will look and run great!

I'll remote play it to my Steam Deck OLED with proper HDR and gyro aiming, and pretend it's a Switch 2 Pro or PS6 portable 😂😂.

I'd gladly double dip on Switch 2 for RE 7, 8, 9. But game key cards 🔑, so no I'll get RE9 for Steam Deck OLED, after a price drop for my portable fix later on.

Re: Rumour: A Game-Key Card Alternative? Nintendo May Have Smaller Switch 2 Carts In The Works

DTfearTheBEARD

Multiple cartridge sizes should have been a thing since day 1. But better late then never.

Since there have been so few proper physical releases for Switch 2. It's been nice to save money, but I would like to build my Switch 2 collection somewhat similar to my Switch 1 library.

Until then, I'll continue buying most of my games for PS5 Pro, older and indie games on Steam with sales for SD OLED and exclusives on Switch 2.

Re: CRKD Announces The 'Nitro Deck 2', Compatible With Switch And Switch 2

DTfearTheBEARD

I don't see anywhere about these supporting gyro? If not, that would be a deal breaker for me.

I'm currently using the kill switch from dbrand which is comfortable. But doesn't change the fact that the joy cons are terrible with certain games with their tiny thumbstick travel.

This seems to have full sized thumbsticks and back buttons, which I like.

It's nice that you don't have to slide the Switch 1/2 into the device. Because I remember people complaining about the original Nitro Deck scratching up their systems.

Guess, I'll wait for reviews and see what people say about it before I make a decision.

Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?

DTfearTheBEARD

Decent start so far. I'd give it a 7/10

Pros- Bigger display and joy-cons with magnetic connection, Pro Controller 2, backwards compatibility with some performance improvements (RE 5 & 6, Revelations 1 & 2, Saints Row 3 & 4, ect), mouse mode, better Eshop browsing (no longer laggy), Switch 2 games look great (Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World) docked to my 4K OLED TV.

Cons- Game key cards, non OLED display, poor battery life, no VRR while docked, tiny thumb stick travel on joy-cons make handheld gaming less enjoyable, having to wait for more Switch 1 games to get upgraded (Xenoblade 1-3, X, please)

I hope to see a Switch 2 OLED and Pro style joy-cons with full size thumb sticks and buttons from Nintendo in the future.

Honestly, I'd probably be more impressed with the Switch 2 if the Steam Deck OLED hadn't been my go to handheld for the past 2 years. But with a much better display, full sized thumb sticks, back buttons, gyro with any game i want, ect. Steam Deck OLED will continue to be my handheld of choice.

I'm looking forward to all of the amazing Nintendo first party exclusives throughout the generation and with my massive back catalog of Switch 1 games (300+), Switch 2 will remain apart of my gaming hardware rotation for years to come!
