Re: Poll: What Do You Want From Nintendo's NX Platform?

DBPirate

If Nintendo wasn't announcing many games at E3 2015 because of the NX, then I am definitely hyped.

I hope to see a mix of the great titles we got from Nintendo on past consoles as well as titles from third-parties. Next E3 is going to be huge for me: this is going to be the first time I watch both the Sony and Microsoft conferences (I got a PC so I want to see what games are coming; don't care about the Xbox and PS exclusives) and the NX will be revealed!

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4

DBPirate

If true, that is very, very, VERY disappointing. But if third parties were "impressed" or "satisfied" or however they put it, then it must be at least on par.

At least we know it won't need to be as powerful as the PS4 to get a great looking Animal Crossing. Let's put those HD models to good use, people! And I'll be getting a PC soon so I won't really need to worry if the NX doesn't get the third party games.

Re: Talking Point: The Pros, Cons and Questionable Likelihood of a Nintendo NX Release in Summer 2016

DBPirate

I was originally against Nintendo launching the NX in 2016 but at this point, I wouldn't care. E3 was pretty embarrassing--for me, the only Wii U must buy was Mario Maker with Amiibo Festival being a giant slap in the face.

Have a new 3D Mario, a new Metroid, a new Animal Crossing, possibly a new IP, and I think @Quorthon mentioned a Smash U "ultimate edition" and the NX is an easy must buy. In fact, it'd already be one for Animal Crossing.

The summer release date is a bit strange but at this point, it's early 2017 at latest.

Re: Satoru Iwata Didn't Apologise For Nintendo's E3 Digital Event, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

@Spectra_Twilight A new proper Animal Crossing game after there's been one on every console since the GameCube = unreachable expectations? I don't think so. (Rest of this comment is not directed at you so don't take it wrong)

But also, people are seriously thinking about leaving Nintendo after one E3? Did you think about leaving Nintendo when the GameCube was behind the competition? How about when the Wii wasn't HD and didn't get third-party games like Batman and Assassin's Creed and instead commonly got shovel ware? How about when the Wii U was announced to not have achievements? I think both sides of the argument are overreacting.

No one needs to yell at anyone for not liking an E3 but those same people shouldn't be like "Wow, there were not many games at this E3. BOYCOTTING THE NX!" Extreme much?

Re: Editorial: Cheer Up, There Are Some Exciting Games on the Way

DBPirate

Yes, there are games coming but there are barely any we want. Nearly all their games were multiplayer renditions of Nintendo classics like Metroid Prime and Animal Crossing. The previously tense and dramatic Metroid has become a fun and jovial romp with generic robots while AC has gone from a laid back experience with personality filled animals to a party game that (as most people say Mario Party does) may "ruin friendships."

Not that I have anything personal against these games as they may be great in their own right, it just could barely be considered an effort from Nintendo.

Re: Next Metroid Prime Home Console Title "Would Likely Now be on NX"

DBPirate

Glad to know the NX seems to be a home console at the moment. I'm cooled down after the Digital Event yesterday. Going to start focusing on positives. After making Metroid Prime TRILOGY, I would expect them to do more with just "Metroid" but whatever.

@Vilinision How do we know it's a 3D Land spin-off? All they've said is the vague "3D Mario game."

Re: Talking Point: Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Entitled Fury

DBPirate

While a petition to cancel the game may be a bit overblown, the mere fact that it has more than 6,000 signatures and that Iwata apologized for fans' reactions to the Digital Event shows that they may need to change up some things. Perhaps Retro Studios is making a new Metroid? (in all honesty, the "Prime" brand should have stopped by now)

@ericwithcheese2 It's insulting that us Animal Crossing fans don't get a new entry but at the same time will have to pay from $30-$60 for a Mario Party rip-off (and since you need amiibo to even play the game) and buy at least $30 worth of amiibo. If the $60 price tag remains the same, we're looking at a $90 cash grab.
