A rumor right after what good ol' Ninty revealed two days ago?

I'll reserve my judgment on Retro's new IP until I see it. I wonder if this just means a new IP for them or a new IP, period.

I'd like to see the launch line-up for myself before November so if they can do that, great!

Right now it kinda seems like they're just throwing stuff at the wall to justify their actions.

I'd hope more than just Koei Tecmo is working on games for the NX.

Amazing work! 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 probably look the best, in my opinion. Wish Kid Icarus was here.

This lifts my spirits a little but I hope it's soon. Maybe tease the NX next month in a small Direct, and then announce all of this stuff after E3.

I really hope Nintendo has a plan. I mean, they've gotta be showing SOMETHING besides Zelda at E3.

So no notable Nintendo games are coming out this year? Nothing to look forward to for the entire year, not even trailers at E3?

How is Nintendo planning to fill in this gap? There better be some MK8 DLC coming our way or something. They better have a good reason for not showing off a CONSOLE that's coming out in MARCH at E3.

Yay? And here I was hoping for an Animal Crossingn NX announcement at this year's E3. But nope! This is what we get instead.

I can't believe this is what was revealed. And the NX isn't even going to be at E3! 2016 is going to be Nintendo's worst year ever.

What a disappointment.

As long as each generation is overall a more enjoyable experience than the last, I don't really care what direction Nintendo goes in next.

I don't care about the opinions of the "hardcore FPS" audience. I just want it to be enjoyable for me. However, that may not be best for Nintendo this time around and I want them to succeed as well.

I'm somewhere in the middle of @Vandy and @Yorumi on this subject, to be honest.

I just want Nintendo to be innovative yet successful at the same time. They are my favorite gaming company, after all.

@IceClimbers For this cycle, yes, it is the other way around. However, I don't think either should be a sideshow. Nintendo should treat both their home console and their handheld as the "main course."

That's why I'm optimistic for NX, assuming that their teams have been combined.

If Nintendo doesn't show off or release the NX this year, it's going to be pretty painful if I'm being completely honest. Not much to look forward to outside of a potential announcement. Let's hope 2016 is a great year!

Why do people want him in Smash so much? I never understood the appeal of anime in general but I guess that's just me.

That was quick. We saw a trailer at E3 and some gameplay in one Direct.

Saying you'll like the game before it comes out is "judging it" too. No different from saying you don't think you will like it. If you were truly being "neutral," you would be neutral in your arguments as well and not trying to insist the game is amazing.

The review doesn't read like an 8 to me and since this is on the same level as Paper Jam according to this website, I probably won't be picking it up.

@cleveland124 Mario Kart is laughable? And Splatoon isn't Nintendo's replacement for COD, it's just their unique take on the genre.

The software news is good but the fact that there may not be any Off-TV Play is disappointing to me.

Star Fox aims to show what it can do? Ba dum tss. (wait, do you even aim with the GamePad in that game?)

Off-TV play is by far the best use for the GamePad so I hope that's the entire purpose of the NX's "handheld component" / second screen. I only selected Mario Maker for games that have utilized the GamePad to its full potential. Why wasn't Splatoon an option? I like maps.

I can't wait to see this series reach its full potential on the NX!

Why are people upset about this "gimmick" that's barely even a gimmick? Unlimited Off-TV play is a great feature and I'm pretty sure this "GamePad" thing isn't even going to be used in games. It'll literally just be used for Off-TV play. If this is true, I am hyped!

Luigi's Mansion 3 is cool as well. I'm hoping they lean closer to the more open and dark, scary environment of the first game as opposed to Dark Moon. Keep the gameplay from 2 though.

Assuming we're talking about the older episodes as opposed to the below average newer episodes, then it's pretty hard to choose between the two.

Assuming this rumor is true and I'm almost positive it is, I am glad to see that Mario Kart 8 is not on the list.

Smash and Zelda being the guarantees of the group isn't surprising. I would rather have a Splatoon sequel than a port, while Mario Maker should probably stay a Wii U exclusive. It'd be great if they could get it to NX though.

Other Wii U games like MK8, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, etc. can be downloads on the eShop like they had for the Wii games this gen.

@MarvinTheMartian I assume by "port," they simply mean a definitive edition with all the content from both games (plus Ice Climbers and Wolf, hopefully). I'm sure it would by no means replace an NX Smash title.

I don't know but anyone else here but I've never thought of Link as me, only as a character in a game.

Do we need male Samus and a Samus of different skin tones? How about a female Mario? Or better yet, how about we change the orientation of a character who doesn't even say a word throughout the entire game?

Now, I wouldn't mind a female Link as Link is INTENDED to be an avatar. I'm just saying I have always considered Link his own character and never me.

Not sure how I feel about voice acting, but as long as female Link is only an option, I think I'll be fine with that. Though I'd still prefer having a strong female character in the game besides Link. Why does there have to be a male and female version of everything?

NX version for this game is pretty obvious at this point in time.

Interesting...maybe Nintendo will be getting those third parties more often on the NX.

If we're not reading too much into this, then this would imply the NX is indeed a HOME console as I doubt a sequel to Shadow of Mordor could run on a handheld.

Madden absolutely does not deserve to be even a nominee. "Notable Video Games of the Decade," maybe but "Video Game Hall of Fame" which covers EVERYTHING for the past 4 or so decades? Yeah, no.

I definitely think this'll be coming to the NX. Now whether it'll be successful or not is dependent on if the NX releases Holiday 2016 or early/mid 2017.

Ugh. I really wish I had a New 3DS!

But, naturally, I've really enjoyed my regular 3DS. Majora's Mask 3D, Dream Team, and New Leaf are probably the best games on the system in my opinion.

An M rating doesn't stop most kids from picking up Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, or Mortal Kombat. Sad but true. (though if they're old enough to "handle it," I guess it doesn't really matter)

Plus, even if TT Games did include Mortal Kombat, then I doubt they would've had to make anything violent. Just having the characters from the series in the game doesn't make something automatically M. Just look at Smash Bros. Brawl and Smash 4. Having Snake and Bayonetta in the game didn't make it "unsuitable" for children.

Only thing from the Direct that got me excited. Looks a little similar to Sticker Star (was kinda hoping they'd distance themselves from that as much as possible) but I'm fine with the world map returning.

I think this one'll be a solid game. I was a bit let down by Paper Jam.

If anything, at least the soundtrack will be excellent.

Now if only I was one of those 300,000 people. RESTOCK ALREADY!

Ocarina of Time at #1. Not surprising at all. I think I prefer the staff results on this one. I'm genuinely shocked that they're as different as they are from the community ones.

It's definitely going to be an interesting year. There's quite a few great games on the way for the Wii U and 3DS and I can't wait for the NX's reveal at E3! (or before, who knows?) I feel like I've been saying that in nearly all of my posts now.

I have a feeling remasters will be a big part of the NX, mainly GameCube and Wii remasters. Personally, I'm hoping for a Mario Galaxy 3 and then an NX remaster of 1 and 2. Maybe we'll get a 3D Zelda pack too---Skyward Sword's the only one left.

I can't wait to see what Nintendo will do in this department. I'm hyped about the NX already!

People need to stop saying that this is a disappointing Paper Mario game. It could hardly be considered a crossover. Paper Mario is just a plot device for a MARIO & LUIGI game.

Both the Wii U's and 3DS' latest releases were kinda disappointing but combining their best releases (Mario Maker, Splatoon, Majora, etc.), it was a pretty good year with a lot of filler titles.

I think 2016 will be much better though. We're off to a good start with Paper Jam. I can't wait!

No surprise here. Splatoon was definitely my favorite Wii U game of the year. As crazy as it sounds, I kinda got burnt out on Mario Maker quickly.

I think this Direct has been getting a lot of hate for "oh no, another anime swordsman."

Personally, Corrin has made me even more excited for Fire Emblem: Fates, which was going to be my first FE game anyway. He looks super unique and I can't wait to play as him. Same for Bayonetta. I didn't vote for her in the ballot but she looks really cool. I'm going to buy Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta all at once in February.

I really hope there's a Smash 4 Definitive Edition as an NX launch title with all the stages from both Wii U and 3DS, all characters + DLC (and maybe even Ice Climbers and Wolf? Fingers crossed...), all Mii costumes and modes, etc.

She looks cool to play as! I'm looking forward to it.

Looking at this list makes me realize that this really has been a very mediocre year for the Wii U and 3DS. I only purchased 3 2015 Wii U games and 1 2015 3DS game the entire year.
